Tournaments GSCPL VI - Finals [Won by the Carapinga Caterpies]

:crobat: Cracked Crobats vs. Carapinga Caterpies :caterpie:
OU: Underlying vs. MrSoup - I am a very big fan of MrSoup's play but I see Underlying taking this one.
Bo3 OU: gorgie vs. aminita - I can't bet against Gorgie with a 20 year anniversary on the site coming up. The story writes itself.
Bo3 UU: BeeOrSomething vs. evakiyama! - I mainly just wrote this post to talk about this, a actually very interesting because Bee has taught evakiyama a lot about the tier. Of course being a mentor to someone in a tier doesn't mean they can't develop their own style, and it will be interesting to see how evakiyama prepares this matchup. I do think that Bee's long term experience in LT does give him a leg up in a Bo3 due to having a larger array of builds to consider, BUT the fact that evakiyama has been grinding GSC UU so often and Bee's mostly been in the GSC NU slot might also play a hand. If I was held at gunpoint I would bold Bee, but I simply cannot count Evakiyama out and I think this might produce some of the most exciting gaming of the weekend.

Well then…

BACK TO BACK!!

It’s incredible, all of this, and I struggle to put into words the happiness I’m feeling right now.
When I look back and think about where I was two and a half years ago, it’s really hard to imagine everything that would happen in the years that followed. And then… who? Me? The same person who, not that long ago, said they would never play GSC.
Sometimes life is strange and unpredictable: what seems impossible becomes possible. And here we are.
Last year, after winning this tournament playing GSC Uber, I said I wouldn’t take part again. And that’s what I thought this year too, until Kenix was named manager and asked me to play together to try to win the tournament. I thought, “Why not?”
After Kenix was banned and I was asked to carry the team forward, I felt it was my duty to step in.
Thanks also to the messages from July — a wonderful discovery, by the way — I decided to take on the manager role and move the team forward together with him.
Guys, being a player is one thing; being a manager is a completely different story. And you don’t truly understand it until you experience it.

It was a tough and demanding experience: it was my first time, managing so many people is never easy, and my job takes up a lot of my time.
None of this would have been possible without July and Soup by my side. Not only two incredible players, but two wonderful people — and these days, that’s rare to find.
Our chemistry was clear from the very beginning, and it was the driving force behind our victory. I’m sure of it.

I’ll be honest, July : before this tournament, I didn’t know who you were (forgive me, but it’s the truth! Haha). But you turned out to be an incredible discovery. You were impeccable, not only for the work you did, but also for the trust you gave me.
Thank you for giving me full freedom in building the OU team: it was a pleasure and an honor to share this journey with you.
When I was asked who I wanted as a player, the first name I mentioned was MrSoup , for obvious reasons.
Last year we shared the journey that led us to winning the GSCPL, and this year it couldn’t have been any different.
I won’t be the first or the last to say it: your talent is there for everyone to see. You are incredibly strong, much more than you think (even if I still won’t forgive you for stealing that last chance from me ).
You still have huge room to grow, and beyond that, your managerial experience was a massive help: where I couldn’t be there, you were. I couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you so much.

But above all, thank you to you: my guys.
Without you, none of this would have existed. There wasn’t a single moment we didn’t share: a win we didn’t celebrate, a loss we didn’t learn from… and a cat picture that wasn’t posted .
You guys are strong. Very strong. And I can only be proud of each and every one of you.
For give me if I’ve been repetitive, but you needed to hear it — and you need to keep remembering it.
When July asked me, “What do you think about the OU players? Who could we pick?” you were all already there. It’s crazy to think about it.
I had said, “I want young, hungry talents who want to win.” And you did it.
I could write countless positive things about each of you, but I prefer to talk about the group, about our amazing group.
Also because it’s no secret what I think of you individually — I’ve told you many times in the server.
You won this tournament because you truly wanted to win it. Be proud of what you achieved, because from today your names are engraved in the history of this tournament.
I don’t know if I’ve been a good manager, nor have I ever presumed to be one.
I just hope, in my own small way, that I’ve passed something on to you: a point of view, an idea, what I knew — or what I thought I knew.
I never had the ambition to teach you anything: I’m still young in this tier, but I just want thank you from the bottom of my heart for always following me. It was admirable.
I hope I made your journey less stressful, that I touched the right chords in each of you and
helped you understand where and how to improve.
I wish I’ve left a good memory of myself in each of you (and not just because of my teams!).

Last but not least, I want to dedicate this victory to my brother, Kenix
I know you’re proud of this win, and you have no idea how proud I am of you.
You have been — and still are — a fundamental point of reference in my growth as a player.
It’s truly a shame that we weren’t able to win this tour together — we would have had so much fun.
You have left an indelible mark on this community, and your absence will remain a significant loss for this tier.
I love you, brother. I know you’re reading this somewhere.
Let’s keep in touch on IG.
And
Before closing, I feel the need to give a special thank-you to Fear as well.
It’s truly a shame that I only got to know you in these past few years, but as they say: better late than never.
Having you by my side was and is a huge privilege. I tried to learn everything I could from you, everything you patiently chose to share.
You are undeniably the number one — my absolute favorite.
No one will ever be able to leave an impact as great as yours in this tier.
I know your time is very limited, and that’s exactly why your support means even more.
Thank you for sharing a part of your incredible journey with me and thank you for helping us.

I feel that this adventure, which began in 2011 in this community, is coming to an end.
The years go by, commitments increase, and the time I can dedicate to this fantastic game keeps getting smaller…most likely, im sure this will be my last GSCPL.

That’s all..
Sincerely

- coco

I would like to start shoutouts by the thanking Allah Almighty,

What a ride, It was such an rollercoster. Lets start from the beggining, when kenix sent a message saying if someone is interested in managing with him. I without wasting time sent him a pm saying I was interested after a small talk he happily agreed. We signed up but god had other plans. Kenix got banned and my heart broke at that time cuz it was near the auction. Kenix before getting banned pinged coco so I knew who I had to reach out. Coco happily agreed and I am very happy how it all turned out.

Now shoutouts time no specific order
Don Eduardo I know kenix will be seeing this, thanks for accepting me as co in the first place and letting me have a shot in the tour. Things happen and I know you will come back as a stronger and better person. I am happy I could carry the legacy to win. <3
coco Thanks for replacing kenix, it was first time both of us teamed up and I am glad we did. You supported the OU slots with great effort and it all paid off. I really appreciate you taking time out of ur busy life and help the slots. You also kept morale high with the beautiful scenery and food pics of italy. Love you goat. gl in spl.
aminita Aminita one of our strongest soldiers. Kenix told me that he wanted you and tyler badly. So I had in mind to get you, sorry could not get tyler rip. You worked very hard prepped well and were very vigilant in both test and tour games. you inspired me alot with your dedication and you also saved our ass in tb. huge props kek. I hope u get in SPL and dominate. Hoping the best for you.
hybone hybone one of another slots Kenix wanted desperetly and i am very glad we could get you. 6-1 what an record, you showed everyone how capable you are. even when you were not slotted, you provided very high quality test games and they were very useful in our weeks. You are the next gsc shining star and have a bright future king. also keep writing posts. I love reading your chinese posts.
Seanobiwan sean one of our another strong soldier, coco told me, you and aminita have very good synergy. I went in the gsc cord and checked and saw u and aminita were talking about a donphan build and then and there is realized we needed to get you. Sorry we had to ban donphan usage in between but donphan or no donphan you are a very great player. during the week vs raikous u really impressed me with the win vs Siatam. I know you can keep getting better and the next SPL player in the future. Gooooo Donphan!!!!
Mikon yo mikon, I had been seeing you from gsc rands and very inspired by your gsc rands run in RBTT. you kicked my ass multiple times on gsc rands ladder and boy you are such a great player. It was very nice to see you play in GSCLT. You were such an awesome sub and always came there when sub was needed and provided outstanding gaming despite the rush of the sub. Thanks you deserve the win.
k3nan I dont know much about you other then that you qualified for classic few years back. Your week 1 win vs gorgie was instrumental. sorry we could not slot you alot but you did well.
Thor thanks for being an amazing player thor despite your busy university semester. You provided us much needed wins and did great despite being busy. I hope the best for you irl as well.
KeshBa54 keshba I wanted you for ubers but when u told me u dont wanted to play ubers. I orginally removed you from the draft plan. but when the auction was coming to an end and saw you were undrafted. I was surprised and quickly picked, you are way more worth then a 3k sub. Sorry we could not slot you alot but you were an excellent presence and amazing player and tester. nice to get a fellow pandey union a win, goooo pandey union.
MrSoup you were the person that we wanted after we saw you signed up. I am really really happy we got you. You helped us from during the draft, supporting the slots to becoming a sort of 3rd manager and putting up an amazing record. Becoming a slot which we can always count on. Thanks so much soup for the help you did for the ou slots and the help u provided to eva. We could have never won this without you. It is very great to see you do an 3peat and it was an honour playing for teh gsc goat. Ahh, Crobats. CRACKED BLOODY CROBATS.

We were a strong bunch, i'll tell you that.

This all started as a little joke when I pinged my guy choolio on GSC cord and said we're gonna run it up this year and crush all who oppose us. Look where that got us.

First things first mate, I know we said this might be the first and last, win or no win, but if you somehow convince yourself that you wanna run this back one more time, no other co-man i'd wanna do it with. From the pre-draft to the final few turns of TBs we learned a shitton from this one and I'm sure we'd grab the gold with certainty our next go round. Cheers bro, to one of the most CRACKED mfs i know.

Underlying : MVP of the season. 9-1 speaks for itself. A troll and/or bot when he wants to be, but when it’s time to lock in it's all business. Solid teammate, relentless competitor, undisputedly one of the most promising up-and-coming GSC talents right now. With SPL right around the corner, its time to see if he’s ready to step into the spotlight and push his game to an even higher level. The moment is now mf, time to cease it and put all the yap to the side. Good luck.

BeeOrSomething : Always ready to step up when called on in any capacity. From helping to hold down PU when Ace needed you, to checking in on UU and Ubers, to being a steady presence in our server, you did the work that doesn’t always show on the scoreboard. The pendulum didn’t swing your way in finals tiebreak, but it already takes guts to answer the call in that spot. Respect for stepping up without hesitation. Like I said before, that mindset matters, and our team was much better for it.

betathunder : Big money Beta. Watching your growth over these nine weeks has been unreal. You showed up every time, put in the work with the practice bats and stayed ready to do whatever was needed of you. Week after week you stepped into pressure spots and delivered, power level rising the whole way. Calm and composed when it mattered. Thanks for being the coldest
1001901663.jpg
, clutchest
1001901669.jpg
, most ruthless mf
1001901666.jpg
on the entire squad.

OmBrArch : Still green, but the talent is obvious. Great attitude, receptive to feedback, and confident enough to stand your ground on your fundamentals even when things don’t break your way...and to treat those moments as learning opportunities. Your ceiling is still far away and how close you get to it is entirely on you. The tools are there. The opportunity is there. The CRACKED Crobats appreciate you mate. Keep doing your thing.

tylerkehne : Mr. Flavor Trainer himself
1001901747.jpg
. Sometimes to your own detriment, but that’s how you fumble, learn, and level up. You’ve still got a lotta ground to cover but your attitude has been consistently positive and that will take you further than anything else. Keep putting in the work and there’s no doubt you’ll do big things. Still vetoing Lick Lax until further notice though.

summer islands : This guy man. An enigma
1001901750.jpg
, but a strong enigma. Untapped kid gohan–type strength just sitting there. You already know what it is mate. In a way, you were the first Bat, because from jump I knew we were getting you. If you decide to really commit to the grind going forward, I expect to see you tearing the 2026 GSC scene apart. And i’m not just talking to hear myself speak... I genuinely believe you’ve got what it takes if you choose to push it to the next level. Good luck if you choose to embark dude. I'll see you around.

BloodAce : Our PU titan. Held down the fort and helped carry us this far. Started slow, but found your stride and showed up in the big games when it mattered most. That reliability under pressure doesn’t go unnoticed. Thanks for everything dude. Hope our paths cross again down the line.

IamLowTier : One of the most instrumental pieces of this team. You subbed in when we urgently needed it and immediately took rightful ownership of our UU ship. Your builds were uniquely you and you put in the grind...running hella test bats to get them match-fit from the original day-one ideas. Thanks again for stepping up when it mattered most bro. Truly appreciate everything you brought to the squad.

Estuardo19 : ESTUUUUAAARDOOOOOO. One of the most selfless teammates we could’ve asked for. From scouting, to tests, to prep help, to CLUTCHING, you did it all. If we ever run this back, you’re a Bat again without question if you want it. Appreciate you, bro. Keep grinding.

The_App : One of the most reliable presences we had all season. Tests, sharing sharp insights on opponents and team picks across every OU slot, your input mattered week after week. A lot of that influence happens quietly, but it absolutely shaped our prep and decisions. You’re also one of the breakout new talents I can see going far if you keep developing your game. Appreciate the work you put in mate.

neomon & harshest : My guys. Your scouting, test battles, and constant chat presence...outside of when you were both busy otuside getting $$$...were essential. A lot of the work that doesn’t show on the sheet, but absolutely shows in results. The Bats thank you. We don’t make it this far without you two.

Kiyo : Unfortunate how our season together turned out. Hope things irl have settled and that everything works out for the better going forward. Gl mate.

And last but not least, id like to thank me, for believing in me. I'm the best. FK THE DINGAS. CROBATS UP, GGS EVERYONE.
