Ok, this BW UU RMT is like 3 months too late due to my salt at the last battle I ever had with this team idea, but time heals all wounds and I feel like it's better late than never with this team idea. Anyway...
Like my last RMT, this was a team idea that I had built around for August 2025's BW UU Spotlight Ladder. I eventually grew so comfortable with the core idea that I began tinkering with the various Pokemon that fit on this team. The initial team will be presented, alongside alternatives that try and address some of the flaws of the original, while leaving new gaps with which the team has to deal with.

Flygon @ Dragon Gem
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive / Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Roost / U-turn
I built this team after being inspired by mixed Flygon in DPP OU and wanting to build a team with that in mind. After looking at the possible items and the damage calc, I liked Dragon Gem because you can pop it against something like a Slowbro or Blastoise and absolutely nuke them, clearing a path for a Pokemon that gets stymied by them. It was with this idea that I would build the teams going forward. Dragon Gem is great here because if you use U-turn with it, it doesn't immediately reveal that Flygon is not Choice Scarf; this is something that Life Orb cannot accomplish. Fire Blast is great to roast Bronzong that resists the two STAB moves. With some hindsight, U-turn may actually be the better move, but my initial variations of the team took greater inspiration from the DPP OU set, which carries Roost. It's also probably the case that Hasty is better than Naive here since most faster physical attackers would just OHKO Flygon anyway and having a little extra special bulk for Victini is just good to have. Who knows, though; Scarf Victini tends to be physical so having the physical bulk may just be better.

Mienshao @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Aerial Ace
Mienshao is one of the most perfect Pokemon to benefit from Flygon's ability to demolish physical walls. It was one of the first Pokemon I thought of here because it loves to spam U-turn and Rocky Helmet Slowbro in particular can deny it progress. Dropping a Draco frees Mienshao to launch High Jump Kicks more freely against the opposing team. Additionally, Mienshao is quite good here because on team preview, opponents may be quick to assume Choice Scarf Flygon and Life Orb Mienshao; this can lead to them sending out Slowbro prematurely and getting Dracoed.

Roserade @ Black Sludge
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
The best Spiker in the tier and a great switch-in to Scald, Roserade's Spikes are essential for pushing opposing threats into KO range of Flygon's attacks while allowing Mienshao's U-turn to sting even harder. I've also found that Roserade can just take hits if you're a little daring and have been taking advantage of that to get a little extra value from it against stuff like Zapdos and Bronzong. Obviously, Roserade can't always beat them, but just taking turns from them is nice for getting Black Sludge recovery.

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 244 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Dragon Tail
Rhyperior may not be the 100% correct pick for this team, but I really hate Togekiss and Zapdos and this guy sets up Stealth Rock while dealing with both. Having a phazing move is nice to have for Snorlax as well, especially since it grabs incredible value in conjunction with Spikes. Roserade and Rhyperior have great typing synergy, as Roserade takes care of Water- and Grass-types while Rhyperior takes care of the Fire- and Flying-types. And hey, Rhyperior also enjoys Flygon obliterating Slowbro and Blastoise.

Mismagius @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 236 HP / 56 Def / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Taunt
Like Rhyperior, Mismagius may not be 100% the best pick for this team. However, having a spinblocker is nice to have when the team is so offensive and having it be fast and pack utility is nice as well. This spread lets it outspeed Victini, a Pokemon you can never be too safe against. Will-O-Wisp helps it take care of other physical attackers like Snorlax, Pain Split lets it take advantage of bulky Pokemon by taking their HP, and Taunt is great for walls trying to heal and Spikers that are trying to Spike. I've tried modifying its set but I was never satisfied with any modifications and have returned to this set for this team. It's rather passive but it is functional.

Kingdra @ Leftovers
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 Spe
Impish Nature
- Substitute
- Protect
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
My final team slot needed to do a couple things. First, I'd ideally like something that could absorb an attack or two from Weavile, which is a threat I'm currently extremely weak to. Second, since the team has walbreaking in Flygon, revenge killing in Mienshao, and a good enough defensive core, I'd like something that can either be a second breaker mid-game or clean up late-game. I didn't like how slow Scrafty was, giving spinners turns to remove hazards and then phaze it out. Suicune could honestly have been OK here, but it's not as strong of a cleaner; it's more so a wallbreaker. I ultimately decided to go with this Bulky Kingdra set because it gives me both of these qualities while also getting setup opportunities on annoying Water-types.
Here's the Pokepaste for this team as well as other variations

- The original team. My only real gripe with this team is that switching into Slowbro is a very dicey proposition because the main Scald switch-in is Roserade and Kingdra hates taking status.

- A variation that goes with a Scarf Heracross instead of Mienshao because being forced to use High Jump Kick isn't the best for your confidence in the team's consistency. This variant is a lot weaker to faster Scarfers like Mienshao and Flygon, so the cleaning power of Swords Dance Weavile is used instead because +2 Ice Shard chunks them real good. I currently have Fighting Gem on it, but Life Orb is probably better because you really want that Ice Shard to sting Mienshao. I also went for Swampert on this variant because Weavile can help ward off Zapdos (to an extent) and I wanted that slot to be better into opposing Weavile if Kingdra isn't there. Truth be told, I'm pretty unimpressed by this variant because of how difficult it is to set up with Weavile and how easily Swampert can be overrun by hazards. Heracross probably also doesn't need as much Speed or Attack as it does and can go with at least some bulk.

- I used this variant in BWPL and unfortunately lost to a much more experienced player who could recognize the flaws of the 6 I had brought. The goal behind Shaymin was to give me something better to switch into Slowbro with, and Qwilfish gives me Spikes while also packing tools to help slow down Weavile in Intimidate and Thunder Wave. BlackKnight_Gawain recommended HP Fighting over Pain Split as a way to let Mismagius hit Dark-types directly. leoperi pointed out that a Steel-type would be very helpful here, but I ultimately stuck with Rhyperior as the Stealth Rock setter because my Zapdos and Togekiss matchups hadn't improved with my modifications. It was on team preview that I noticed how bad of a time this team has for opposing Roserade, an already-tenuous matchup in the original team.
Overall, I think Dragon Gem Draco Meteor Flygon is a cool set that I'm glad I got to try. I really hadn't seen anything like it used, at least not from what I've seen of BW UU. It feels like I never see Gems get used all that much in UU and I'd like to build more teams that try use them to maul opposing teams.
