I random cook it for daharan in RUCL W1, Scarf Gengar is a decent speed control that overspeed most mon, i don't think 4a is really good so i bring trick break somemon like muk, tspikes is another interesting move that help pawmot weaken ground type like hippo/gastro.
Potential edit: seed bomb over knock on pawmot
Thanks!

Initial testing went well (6-4, but one of that four was a repeat battle).

Trick on Gengar did, in fact, thoroughly save me vs a Muk-A, and I found Acid Spray to be hilariously good. Before now, I'd considered Pawmot to be a niche revival gimmick, but after using this team, I no longer have any trouble seeing it as a secret powerhouse.

Took that Seed Bomb option over Knock Off on Pawmot, and the results against Quagsire are hilarious. My big concern is that my opponents often have enough poison + removal that T-Spikes on Gengar aren't showing up. Since I've had some issues with my opponents getting to outspeed me after a single buff, would T-Wave or Destiny Bond be good on Gengar over T-Spikes?

The biggest issues I had were Armarouge and Bisharp; I could just not be playing carefully enough around them, but if just one key check (Paw for Bisharp or Goodra for Arma) drops to half, then I just plain lose a mon at best and found myself just screwed. The Bisharp sweep took me being battered, not having Paw left, and only being able to burn it with Talon (plus miscalling a few moves), and the Arma sweeps... I get that Goodra can switch in and Draco Meteor without giving Arma anything, but if Arma attacks on the switch and then retreats, I've basically got nothing.

Is there something I could do about that?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your feedback! I'll answer on behalf of Metallica about the team's matchups.

You can definitely customize Gengar's last two slots it's really up to you. I personally like Destiny Bond at the moment since it can be quite useful to slow down fast paced games against offensive teams. Thunder Wave is also good but a bit more difficult to use in my experience, although better than Destiny Bond against a troublesome matchup you identified aka Bisharp. Against it, you should always aime to preserve Talonflame so it can burn it and make the matchup way easier.

Armarouge will always be difficult here, the option you have is investing more Special Defense on Hisuian Goodra to make it a safer switch in. In general though, you need to be very wary of Arma's entry points such as Cyclizar or Talonflame and deny them. Basically force your opponent to switch it in unsafely and let it get chipped. When Goodra is healthy you can click physical moves without fearing the Speed boost too much and if you can get it in Draco Meteor range for Cyclizar then you're set. Never forget your own gameplan too because it makes the Armarouge matchup easier to play, make sure to weaken Pawmot's targets so that when you lose your Arma checks and it has to get in to revenge kill, you put the opponent in a position where they also have to give up a Pokemon.

would like to request a bo/balance (mainly not HO) around a bulkier synth shell smash tort with two attacking moves (think edgequake coverage would be best?)

Torterra @ White Herb / Leftovers / Loaded Dice
Ability: Shell Armor
Tera Type:
EVs:
- Shell Smash
- Synthesis

Ask and thou shalt receive. Normally, I don't end up helpin out on the teambuild lab but I got asked as the Torterra Savant so hey. I've actually messed with Synth Smash Torterra before, and didn't completely despise it. Needs some Grass removal support though, so AOA Gatr fits amazingly for that job. Ice punch does half to chesnaught and the others go without saying, so as long as your prediction game is on point its a slam dunk. U-Turnless bike w Facade Dtail is a neat way to help the slowbro mu, and Gatr / MMQ / Tort core should be able to give you outs vs any style. Torterra's Tera type is flexible and changed to whatever you want, whether its Fairy, Poison, Fire, etc.

Hello :psyglad:

Noticed a lack of HOs, would it be possible to have one with feraligatr? I've heard a lot of things about it's potential on HO from both swords dance and ddance sets but I've always struggled to make it fit and kinda always saw it as a budget gyarados so i want to rectify that with a team that could fully take advantage of it

Edit: turns out the new sample has that, so maybe a build around porygon z? heard similarly abt its success on ho with no success of my own

Yo! Can i request smth with offensive shaymin? Like Lo 3a + synthesis.
:shaymin: :krookodile: :noivern: :slowbro: :registeel: :mimikyu:

Since shaymin is quite an unusual pokemon i went with a standard core around it in regi bro vern. Scarf krook is a good pair with shaymin because they pressure slowbro and steels well together. Mimikyu is the security off the team and a good second sweeper.

Alright here is your HO with the futuristic duck:
:lycanroc::staraptor::krookodile::porygon-z::mew::mimikyu:

Hyper offenses are not the type of teams I usually build since if you want to have a truly optimal six, you often find yourself stuck with the same formation without that much room to deviate in my opinion. Obviously, I tried to deviate here and the result works surprisingly well from my tests so far.
I know you prefer the Dusk form but I ended up going for the base Lycanroc to really make sure I win the hazard war against most leads. Staraptor is the kill button that let Krookodile or Mimikyu run away with the game in most scenarios. If you end up locked on the wrong move against Registeel it's fine since Mew can use most Steel types as setup fodder but otherwise you'll always severely damage the opposing defensive core which creates a lot of possible game plans. I have another version with Necrozma instead of Mew, but in the end I like the immediate Speed Mew provides a bit more. I went for the Stall killer set on Porygon so that you can't ever say HO loses to Stall, especially this one with Mew and Staraptor on the side you should be fine. I went back and forth for the item, but Porygon wasn't doing much against opposing offense teams so I gave it the Focus Sash which is a nice option to have against weather and Sticky Webs teams. In the end, I tested against every archetype and the team has tools against every top tier cores. It's also pretty easy to pick up since you have double prio + Sash + Disguise to bail you out of tricky situations and Staraptor which is really not difficult to use well. Anyway, good luck for the versatility challenge!

Hello!

I’m returning to RU with an interesting team-building request.

I’d like a Balance or Offense team that features both :Gardevoir: and :Gallade:. One of them can be a Choice user (both make great :Choice_Scarf: users), but that isn’t mandatory. I’m mainly interested in seeing how both of them can be fit effectively on the same team.

Thanks in advance!
