Hello everyone, Rain Moon and I actually rolled each other which is somewhat funny. We already exchanged gifts and I am very thankful for what they have given me. I saw last year that they gave 2 gifts, so I wanted to give them 2 gifts this year. My new buddy Rain Moon said they like Flying, Psychic, Steel types, Sinnoh and Unova, and their favorite colors are Blue, Green, and Grey. They have a preference for cute pokemon and Woobat is definitely cute. At first I decided on Woobat but then I realized that it couldn't go to SV so I figured it would be perfect to do a 2nd one that can go in to SV. That ended up being Bronzong. Bronzong is cute and if you disagree you are wrong.

I figured I'd hop into SWSH and do a quick masuda method hunt for this guy, but I definitely wasn't anticipating hatching 1832 eggs before getting the shiny lol. It was a long journey, even had me paranoid at times that the few eggs I accidentally told the day care lady I didn't want could've been the shiny ones, but we got there. Also got pretty lucky that the shiny one ended up having 5 perfect IVs and the attack was the missing one. I decided on the name Sprinkle before I even hatched it, can't remember how I came up with that name but when I hatched it one of my friends said that it looked like Rock Candy so I knew I was in the right area. Anyway I have 1831 Woobats with good IVs so if anyone wants one let me know lol....

I decided Bronzong would be fitting also, due to my giftee's preferences. Originally I was going to catch it in HGSS with the Cute Charm glitch and then beat Red and get The Living Legend ribbon, and then I realized that wasn't possible because Bronzor is genderless, so I made a sandwich and did some playing in SV to get this guy. I named him Ozzie after a Chrono Trigger boss, a big green guy. It didn't take nearly as long to get this guy as it did Woobat, but I still had fun.

I am very thankful for the gift that I have gotten. I'll definitely be using it on the BSS ladder. I had a lot of fun participating and I hope everyone else did as well. I hope my buddy Rain enjoys their gifts :) Merry Christmas, happy holidays, happy new year, and everything else to everybody :)

This is Prometheus! Prometheus is themed on the Greek Titan who stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. As his punishment, he was chained to a rock and condemned to have his liver eaten by an eagle every day. It regrows, of course. This Pokemon is based on both, minus the devouring of livers. Heat Wave and the Fire Tera type were chosen for Prometheus' association with fire.

I had to dust off my Egg RNG skills, but I managed to get this beauty in just my first try! TrueIssue said they do not dislike any Poké Balls, so I chose the Moon Ball since I consider it to be the closest match to Bastiodon's shiny. I maxed out its Cuteness stat, and Bastian earned itself the Cuteness Master Rank Ribbon as well as the title "the Former Idol".

I believe the OT "Chronos" and ID "000000" also match Bastiodon well, since the God of Time having an ancient fossil Pokémon just makes sense.

I hope my giftee enjoys the gift as much as I did obtaining it!

Based on Karmaloop3's responses (Fire/Psychic/Dragon if he had to pick 3 types, Hoenn being his favorite region, blue/red/black being his favorite colors, and leaning towards powerful Pokemon), my initial thought was a Tera Fire Latios, but I wanted to do something hopefully a bit more unique. I scoped out previous Secret Santa threads and noticed he had previously listed the Beast Ball as his favorite ball and, based on gifts he gave out previously, I guessed he has a way to obtain flawless shinies easier than I can, so I wanted to pick something that would be more unique. Given the recent release of PLZA, I decided to shiny hunt a Tepig with a personality mark since these cannot be bred with a mark nor can they be RNG'd in SwSh, and I thought shiny Emboar matched the Beast Ball fairly well.

To my dismay... I completely forgot Tepig knows both Flare Blitz and Head Smash, so 2 ways to self-KO. I didn't want to waste Herba Mystica, so I tried catching any marked shinies with a Beast Ball without saving prior, which led to many self-KO's and rage since I only had ~18% capture rate with the Beast Ball. After a week of unsuccessful hunting, I finally decided to just save in front of a marked shiny in hopes that it had a personality mark (as previous captures had boring Uncommon or time-based marks) and was ecstatic to find that it had a personality mark and even 0 Speed to work in Trick Room if desired!

To try to make the gift even more special, and since Karmaloop3 describes himself to be "casually competitive", I decided to teach the Emboar any TMs in SV that I thought may have competitive use, since these are relearnable, and trained to be used under Trick Room. I also looked to obtain all the marks/ribbons possible in SV, but was unsuccessful with getting the Partner Mark in time even after >2 weeks and unfortunately I do no play ranked to get the Master Rank Ribbon.

I hope Karmaloop3 enjoys his new shiny Emboar! Also, thank you to everyone in the Discord who encouraged me to participate - this was my first time and I really enjoyed the experience (and the shiny Scizor I received from SpiritGuy as well)!

P.S. I changed the date on my Switch to make it have a catch date of 12/25/25.

My secret santa is CPBBAE

Based on his preferences, I thought Tentacool was the perfect pick. He likes Water and Poison types, the Kanto region, and teal/blue/green color palettes, so Tentacool really checked all the boxes. The Lure Ball was also a nice match color-wise (close enough!), though he mentioned that the theme matters more than the exact color, which definitely applies here.

For this project, I did my first attempt at Gen 6 RNG abuse. I’ve done RNG manips in Gens 3, 4, 5, and 7 before, but hadn’t tried it in 6 until now.

The result was this beautiful flawless Tentacool! I chose not to EV train it because, for Secret Santa gifts like this I personally like sending “untouched” Pokémon so the new owner can train them themselves. I had originally planned to add some ribbons as well, but the RNG work already took quite a bit of real-life time around the holidays :)

This year, I was Lunaflare's Secret Santa! In their post, they mentioned Sinnoh being their favorite region, so I wanted to focus my search for a gift in that general direction for a Pokemon fitting their preferences while also being usable in SV and Legends ZA. After debating on which type to focus on, and also remembering Lunaflare mentioning a character they particularly like a while back in the discord server, I ended up deciding on this!

Krobus is one of the villagers from the game Stardew Valley that you can befriend! Krobus felt really fitting for Darkrai since they're both void creatures that are reclusive due to the fear from humans surrounding them. But at least in Krobus's case, he is a true cinnamon bun once you get to know him, and also sells a lot of very helpful items to you as a merchant!

Non-shiny Darkrai is admittedly a little more fitting for Krobus, but with the more recent Switch era games making Darkrai more accessible than ever, I felt like shiny would be more special. It also still fits because of the iridium Krobus statue you can acquire in the game! It seems like it was a hit since Lunaflare mentioned they almost had a heart attack upon seeing it in the trade screen (I'm glad you like it, but also sorry for the near-heart attack)


However, that's not all! Since Lunaflare's also our local forg enthusiast, I would be remiss to also not include a frog as well!

This Greninja is the Ash-Greninja with Battle Bond. I cloned it in Gen 7 and rolled for size from Bank -> Home via mass-transfer until I got either an XXXS or XXXL. I wasn't aiming for any size in particular, but ended up rolling the smol frog first. In retrospect I am actually happy with that since tiny Greninja will actually matter in battle in Legends ZA, once Home functionality is updated for ZA support
