Rules 1v1 Forum Rules, Council Info, and Announcements

With Murm taking a step back I'm looking to make some changes to the way resources are managed. As a first step, I'm archiving the 1v1 Set Compendium thread. The project will be moved to discord (#set-compendium), and the 1v1 C&C team (currently bea Lumii bern glitched) will be put in charge of it, with forum mods only serving to somewhat overlook the process. C&C's processes have always worked tightly with the set compendium, so it makes sense to give them autonomy over it.

Everybody welcome Indi01 to the 1v1 council!

With that, it's time for me to step down from my position as a voting member. Over the past year I've made sure to keep up with SV enough to be able to vote reasonably, but I don't have it in me to be even close to the level of skill and investment in SV that I expect from council members. My position was always supposed to be temporary until we got people together who are more invested in tiering SV, and now is a great time to let go. I'll remain as council leader, you can still expect me to guide the tiering process and post survey results and the like, but I will no longer have a vote in tiering decisions.

Good morning gamers!

After discussion between old gen leaders and TLs, going into 2026 1v1 will have standardised requirements for old gen suspect tests (gen 5-8). Going forward, the following groups of people will be eligible to vote in old gen suspect tests:
  • Members of the gen's tiering council
  • Top 4 finishers of the most recent classic cup for the gen
  • Anyone who played 3+ matches and won 2+ in the last year of team tours (Currently the last edition of WC, PL, and CL/OGPL)
  • Top 4 of a No Johns Suspect Tour
    • In the event that one or more of the top 4 placements are already eligible to vote, the votes either trickle down to top 8 placements (tiebreaker is up to TL discretion but we recommend a quick double elim bracket with placements 5-8) or additional suspect tours will be held until at least 4 voters emerge
  • Other relevant tours may be added at old gen TL discretion
Because gens 1-4 don't have the same amount of guaranteed tour representation, these rules don't apply to them directly. I encourage those old gens to find a middle ground that implements these systems, but won't be enforcing them very strictly.

A copy of these requirements will be added to the Old Gens thread's OP so it's easy to find. If these requirements are ever changed this message will not be updated while that one will, so please check there for the latest version. Let me know if you have any questions
