Gen 1 RoA Spotlight Tournament: RBY Ubers [Semifinals]

Does this mean the tour length is extended by 6 weeks? If I’m not mistaken it’s now 3 weeks for the playins then a single elim bracket for the top 8? This is super silly especially considering the current 6 people who are 3-0 now have to wait three weeks to resume the tour. I’m not sure about the other finalists but I would much rather take a 3-way finals over this system.

I agree I thought spotlight tours were supposed to be fast, and would finish around the time the ladder disappears. A spotlight tour lasting for 9 weeks total seems crazy to me. Just do 3 way finals and get it over with.

If you are open to feedback, I think letting everyone else play their round this week as a fun exhibition while allowing the top 6 to finish out their set in a 3 way finals next week is the best compromise here personally.

The reason for this being that the people who signed for this spotlight tour were promised 4 weeks of playing as said in the OP, so giving them the opportunity to just play for fun in a lineup is about right to me. The top 6 should get to duke it out for proper bragging rights and be rewarded for their 3-0 standing.

The 3 who win this week can proceed to have a 3 way final like what's happened in some other tours on this site.

After reviewing public feedback and community input, RoA leadership has given me the approval to proceed with a 3-way format. As a result, all users who have either gained a loss or have not been inside of the tournament since round 1 of start-ups, you will not be eligible to participate in the finalist bracket of this tournament, which will be held as 1 Semifinals + "1 week finals".
