Metagame Bio Mech Mons [Leader's Choice]

can I get some clarification on Weezing-galar's neutralizing gas and how it's supposed to work? it doesn't seem to work like the FAQ says it does: "Skill Swap/Worry Seed/Ability Shield and other items/moves/abilities that interact with abilities still function, and will only interact with what is in the Ability slot". In my experience, Neutralizing gas stops all opponents abilities, wherever they are, but yet weezing-galar can still run levitate and keep its own ability. this seems like a bug and should be fixed? it's been really bugging me on ladder lol

It only works on the item/move/ability in the ability slot. It will not negate abilities in the moveslots, nickname or item slots.

With that magnemite set you lose to either roar strats or status moves.
That’s why I only use 1 pokemon that way I don’t have to fit both hevy duty boots and lum berry.
It takes forever to knock things out with only Flash Cannon from a Level 1 pokemon and most teams have a switch stall against you (automatic tie at turn 1000). You need more pokemon so you can actually hurt the other team.

Too bad yall found out you can use aliases, Ig I will tell yall why my Maushold always outspeed:

Maushold @ Life Orb
Ability: choicescarf
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 88 Def / 168 Spe
Jolly Nature
- widelens
- Scarf
- Population Bomb
- technician

Choice Scarf: scarf
Life Orb: lo, lorb
Assault Vest: av
Eviolite: evio
Booster Energy: booster
Rocky Helmet: helmet
Berries: They patched the infinite berry by treating the berry alias as another item lol sooo
Weakness Policy: wp
Leftovers: Lefties

Also works for moves, but you dont have alias for Revival Blessing :(
Can't come up with other exploitable stuff

Lost a game because eject pack refused to stop working on my cressellia

The intended set was eject pack + room service, as you can see it working flawlessly on indeedee, but for some reason it got hella bugged on cresselia and I couldnt reset trick room
Assuming you dropped levitate, this is just the interaction working as intended. The sticky web dropped your speed, which triggered your eject pack, forcing you out

Hey, any plans for making Harvest work properly with berries in move slots and ability slots? I already assumed it wouldn't work but I just tested it with a tropius and yeah, no dice. I want my favorite bananasaur to have a nice feast every five seconds, I'm sure he'd love it.
Edit: not to be mistaken with the berry bug demonstrated a few days ago earlier in the forum. I don't want to abuse that.

So for some reason if you put something like choice scarf in your ability slot and use entrainment it gives them the choice scarf what I believed would happen but its permanent for some reason https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-gen9biomechmons-2512923382 replay of it

ↆↆ
i can confirm that, because of how easy it is to just put the important parts of your set in your moveslots, nerfing item removal, I wanted to experiment with the idea of ability removal being permanent (with stuff like gastro acid as an alternative to knock off and skill swap as an alternative to trick). whether it will stay like this remains to be seen

Permanent ability removal has been a lot of fun for me. The Choice Scarf Entrainment strat was a bit too easy to beat in my testing, with Ability Shield, unmodifiable abilities, or just the fact that you have a mon choice-locked into a status move. Very much a gimmick, although it would probably be broken if better mons had Entrainment or if any mon had Entrainment and Klutz. But Skill Swap has been great. I am single-handedly teaching people to put their abilities in move slots with just this one set:

Alomomola @ skillswap
Ability: laggingtail
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- rockyhelmet
- Flip Turn
- Scald
- regenerator

I've stolen Water Absorb from Clodsire and then burned it with Scald. I've stolen Triage from Comfey on the switch-in and then pivoted out to my Special wall with Flip Turn before it could hit me because of Lagging Tail. I even had a battle where my Alomomola took Bulletproof from Kommo-o and then gave it to Rillaboom in exchange for Grassy Surge. I've also stolen things like Stealth Rock, Bulk Up, and Leftovers. It sucks if I get by hit by Knock Off on the turn I go for Skill Swap, but the other moves are too important to let them get knocked off, and if I catch an attacker on the switch-in it can sometimes turn the battle into a 6v5. It's a really fun mechanic to try to exploit, but it has felt fair in my testing.

Electric Surge Balance / BO (idk what to call it in this meta)
:pincurchin: :raging bolt: :iron treads: :enamorus: :alomomola: :slither wing:

Random Elo (it's not great, but whatever)

bad GXE :(

Basically, the core of Pincurchin (set terrain --> Eject Button + Terrain Extender) gives 7 turns of Terrain for Tera Electric Rising Voltage Raging Bolt, which with the modifiers (Terrain + Zap Plate + Magnet + Tera Electric) hits over 200 BP. You do some insane stuff like 2HKOing opposing Raging Bolt after Calm Mind and at neutral 2HKOing Assault Vest Iron Hands.

Iron Treads is a nice catch-all check to special attackers, mainly opposing Raging Bolt. Leftovers + AV is good. Also the team's removal.

Enamorus with max boost tera fairy Moonblast is a drug. Could be Boots > Wise Glasses.

Alomomola is still Alomomola (and is stupid) esp being able to stack items giving it nice defensive utility.

Slither Wing is MANDATORY priority. Slither Wing over Lokix to slightly better check offensive Great Tusk (don't be fooled, if it's offensive stacking you still take 60+% from Tera Ground Headlong Rush or something stupid).
Replay (I don't save them unfortunately)

Thoughts on the meta:

TERA: It's an unnecessary power boost on top of the item stacking (Life Orb + Type Items). Meta would probs be better without it.

Rain: :inteleon: :ogerpon-wellspring: :pelipper: :basculegion: water spam is absolutely ridiculous, the insane number of abusers (Inteleon, Ogerpon-W, Basculegion) wins against basically every team without a Raging Bolt / Rillaboom / Lokix.
- Inteleon (Scarf / Razor Claw / Scope Lens / Mystic Water / Splash Plate or Life Orb / Snipe Shot) + Rain OHKOs or 2HKOs the entire metagame bar immunities. For reference:

252 SpA Mystic Water Sniper Tera Water Inteleon Snipe Shot vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Chansey in Rain on a critical hit: 321-381 (45.5 - 54.1%) -- 46.9% chance to 2HKO
(I don't know how to add a second boosting item Splash Plate, but given a second 1.2x boost this cleanly 2HKOs)
IDK what I would do to tier this, but removing Tera would help mitigate the damage... kinda...?

SunRoom: :torkoal: :indeedee-f: :ursaluna: :cresselia: I mean, same thing as Rain except you Trick Room / Room Service / Eject Pack and try to win. Specs Torkoal with a max boosts hurts as well. Less consistent than Rain, though, because a lot is sacrificed to get up 1 clean TR setup.

Overall fun meta though, enjoy :)

Is there a way to distinguish between the Metronome the move and Metronome the item? I'm thinking about putting the Metronome item in a move slot.

Even putting the item Metronome in the item slot turns it into the move instead. Even if they can't normally learn the move Metronome
