Welcome to the third ZeroUsed Circuit playoffs of Generation 9! Players battled throughout numerous official tournaments and the top 16 qualifiers will compete to be the ZU Circuit Champion. All rounds will be hosted in this thread. The winner will receive a banner as a prize. In addition, the following Pokemon Showdown prizes are being offered, courtesy of PS! Staff:
  • A custom avatar.
  • The ability to recolor your PS username.
  • The ability to claim an unused PS username.

Credits for the trainercards go to skrimps, Tuthur and this website.

Tournament Rules:

  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • The banlist for this tournament is the same as the current ZeroUsed ladder of the Smogon University server of Pokemon Showdown, and can be found here.
  • Best of three, single elimination.
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of Round 1, they will take effect in Round 2.
  • Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown! or smogtours.
  • SV cartridge win conditions are in place; there are no ties.
  • Replays are required. Failure to post will result in a coin flip.

diegoyuhhi vs Baddy - Previous circuit winner vs best player left. highlight match up. Both keep loading BS, and I think if diego wants to win he needs to stop bringing sudowoodo and quilladin, but I think he'll continue loading shit mons and that will be his downfall.

diegoyuhhi vs Baddy - As the man tasked with the mantle of going back to back, Diego is seemingly holding up, knocking out DD Joe and The Knight™ in the process. With that being said, my perception of Baddy as a player has never been higher. A comfortable victory against OranBerryBlissey using Dusknoir speaks levels to his ability to use unorthodox picks and come out on top. With that being said, Diego did also use Sudowoodo in a tournament set, so I suppose a goal for both players is to use really quirky Pokemon to victory? In my opinion, I think Diego would give Baddy a run for his money, but it wouldn't surprise me if the champion's run falls here. 45|55

Michael Jordan vs Shadow079 - The art of the semi is mastered by very few individuals, yet Michael Jordan has been gifted a level of consistency that allows him to maintain that ability, featuring in the semi-finals of ZU Classic, ZU Swiss, ZU Seasonal, and ZU Circuit all in the same year. Shadow on the contrary has been the Dark Horse of ZU Circuit, defeating up and coming Brazilian hxmo and ZU veteran BloodAce on his way to the semi-finals. His ability as a player always seems to improve by an added 10% every single time someone predicts against him. With both players acquiring the Johning ability only a complete utter sicko like Zpice would enjoy, it will be interesting to see how both individuals duke it out for a spot in the finals. Regardless, I believe Mj will end the fairytale run here, but as always, I would love to be proven wrong here. 55|45

diegoyuhhi vs Baddy Both these guys are my fucking dogs, best match up so far. On the left side, we’ve got potentially the worst case of Bored Mainer Syndrome I’ve ever seen. Many are saying Diego‘s illness is fatal, but I think he’s got enough fight in him to see his Make-A-Wish run come true.

On the right, Baddy is suffering from the opposite affliction, so low on building inspiration, I suspect this round he will post the svzu VR into ChatGPT to make his teams. Quite frankly he’s the only player left treating this tier with the respect it deserves (none).

My brain says this is 50-50 but my heart says the normal gem selfdestruct snorlax that Diego hacked onto showdown takes it.

Michael Jordan vs Shadow079 Both have been pretty good from my experience playing them. I must take shadow here because I suspect he will cook the absolute stupidest custom avatar the site has seen should he win.
