Welcome, one and all, to Random Battles Team Tour IX! ​

RBTT is on the precipice of big changes, with its 10th iteration on next year's horizon—so let's run it back more or less as we know it, one last time.

Tournament Formats
Each of the 8 teams will play 16 matchups per week, with all formats played as best of 3 except as noted. The formats in RBTT IX will be:

Teams and Managers
Each team will have sixteen starter slots and four substitute slots, and will be drafted via snake draft format on or around January 11th. Each team, in a randomized order, will select 1 player each round, with draft order reversal at the end of each round (i.e. teams will draft in the following order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, repeat).

RBTT manager signups are open to the public. These signups begin today, December 7th; details regarding what managers need in their posts (e.g. co-manager, mascot, etc) are in the signups thread OP.

Tournament Schedule

As shown in the commencement thread's art (which is up now btw), the draft order will be as follows:

1. Relic Song Royals
2. Dark Moon Lunalas
3. Flame Body Faction
4. All-Star Hoopers
5. Mecha Magearnas
6. Pyrite Phantoms
7. Time Travelers
8. Diamond Storms

Proof of randomization can be found in the Random Battles chatroom as a series of die rolls; the numbers were their positions in the above post, subtracting ones chosen previously in the draft order.

On further deliberation and petitioning from the playerbases, RBY and BSSF will both be played in best-of-five (bo5) for RBTT IX.

The RBTT IX draft will occur on Saturday, January 10th, at 8PM GMT (3PM EDT/GMT -5). Signups will close by the end of Friday, January 9th.
