Gaismagorm is my third favourite final boss in Monster Hunter, only behind Ahtal-Ka and Dire Miralis (1st and 2nd). I tried to keep myself completely blind to what the final boss for Sunbreak would be when it came out, but I got spoiled briefly by a thumbnail on Youtube; thankfully, I didn't get too good of a look at it. The build-up to it with the afflicted Lunagaron quest and its reveal were both really cool and just filled me with this sense of immense dread while going through it. Its design is so grotesque with its massive mouth and uneven limbs, with the two massive forearms overshadowing the rest of its underdeveloped arms and legs, it's probably one of the few times in recent memory that I thought, "Oh, this is an actual monster". Basing a monster on the fuckin devil sure as hell works. The fight is a lot of fun too and I found myself constantly replaying it even if I never made any of its gear. Love it so much.
