I was dwelling in the depths of mid ladder around the 1600's-1700's when I decided to play some games with webs. I had a webs team that consisted of :araquanid: :iron-moth: :raging-bolt: :enamorus: :kingambit: :gholdengo: (it's a sample from somewhere but idk when/where) and I was winning a lot of games. However since I'm absolutely dix at the game, I had trouble dealing with spinners such as :great-tusk: and :iron-treads: so I decided to replace :kingambit: with :ceruledge: . I also had a boots/band :weavile: issue as well as having trouble with :kingambit: so i added an :iron-valiant: instead of :enamorus: . I now however had an issue with boots/clear body :dragapult: as well as issues with :ceruledge: and :landorus-therian: . This is where I had the (not so) brilliant idea of adding a :deoxys-speed: instead of :iron-moth: which sounded stupid at the time since a base 180 speed mon on webs isn’t the smartest idea.

Now I had a team of :araquanid: :gholdengo: :raging-bolt: :iron-valiant: :ceruledge: :deoxys-speed: and I wasn't the most optimistic when looking at the loading screen until I started winning games with the team. After laddering with the team for several months, I hit top 10 (Just ignore the GXE & GLICKO that part is totally not relevant)

Team Breakdown

1767632570993.png

:SV/Araquanid:
Araquanid @ Custap Berry
Ability: Water Bubble
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 244 HP / 40 Def / 68 SpA / 124 SpD / 32 Spe
Calm Nature
- Surf
- Sticky Web
- Lunge
- Endure

There are plenty of good :araquanid: sets out there so I decided not to bother diverging from the basics much at all. The hp and spdef to tank special attack booster :raging-bolt: while having 40 defense evs to live 2 ceaseless edges from :samurott-hisui: . It also has 32 speed evs which allow :araquanid: to outspeed :ting-lu: to prevent it setting as many hazards as possible which is important as the team has no removal. However, while playing I had trouble dealing with random ddance sub :dragapult: so i decided to spend my remaining evs in spatt so it breaks min bulk :dragapult: sub while also allowing it to ohko :great-tusk: and :iron-treads: . Lunge is there to help manage :dragonite: :ogerpon-wellspring: and :samurott-hisui: with endure to bring :araquanid: to custap. Tera-Ghost is for spin blocking :Great-Tusk: and :Iron-treads:

68 SpA Water Bubble Araquanid Surf vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Dragapult: 79-93 (24.9 - 29.3%) -- 99.9% chance to 4HKO
(if the 0.01% chance happens the gameplan is to throw the computer out of the window)

1767632657940.png

:SV/Gholdengo:
Gholdengo @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Make It Rain
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

:Gholdengo: is very valuable and pretty much almost necessary when hazards on the opposing side are the main goal. Standard offensive ev spread with enough speed to outspeed ada :dragonite: and the rest into HP. Tera Flying is nice for a ground immunity which can help negate damage from :great-tusk: and :landorus-therian: while also allowing it to wall non pjab :clodsire: allowing it to fish for a shadow ball spdef drop if its balloon gets popped. It is nice in the stall MU as well which can help waste :blissey: soft boil PP so the other sweepers can help clean up. Focus Blast is also there on :gholdengo: as it allows the ohko on :kingambit: (if it hits) as well as dealing decent damage to :ting-lu: if you don't want to click MIR. Air Balloon is also there for the immediate ground immunity to help spin block :great-tusk: and :iron-treads:

1767632684331.png

:SV/Raging-Bolt:
Raging Bolt @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Thunderclap
- Thunderbolt
- Dragon Pulse

:Raging-Bolt: is here as it provides a nice priority user as well as having free set up on :zapdos: which can be troublesome if it's offensive and also :ogerpon-wellspring: if it doesn't have play rough. Also gets opened up when :ting-lu: goes down after having to deal with :gholdengo: and :deoxys-speed: . Tera-Bug is nice as it provides a ground resistance whilst not having an ice weakness which can help it set up on :great-tusk: more freely. Here I went timid bolt which can have its drawbacks such as not getting ohkos on targets such as AV :alomomola: when boosted, however I just like it when my :raging-bolt: always outspeeds opposing :raging-bolt: as well as ada :dragonite: :ceruledge: and :rillaboom: just for the funnies.

1767632734169.png

:SV/Iron-Valiant:
Iron Valiant @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Vacuum Wave
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball

Standard Modest :Iron-Valiant: that is nice for the ohko on :kingambit: and :weavile: with vacuum wave as well as when tera’d ohkoing :gholdengo::iron-crown: and :hatterene: with shadow ball, also allows for the two hit KO on AV :slowking-galar: which can be useful for opening up :raging-bolt: and :deoxys-speed: . Tera ghost also allows it to blank :dragonite: extreme speed which is nice sometimes and resisting poison moves from :slowking-galar: :pecharunt: and :weezing-galar:

1767632767419.png

:SV/Ceruledge:
Ceruledge @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Shadow Sneak
- Bitter Blade

Bit of an old :ceruledge: set but it has worked quite nicely. Standard ev spread but with tera-grass allowing it to survive ground attacks from :great-tusk: and :iron-treads: as well as weak water attacks from :alomomola: and flip turn :primarina: and sometimes in a pinch :ogerpon-wellspring: . Close Combat is nice for allowing the ohko on :garganacl: and :ting-lu: while also dealing good damage to things like tera dragon :corviknight: . Focus sash is nice as even though you don't get the strong immediate power like LO does you can survive attacks like :enamorus: earth power and :great tusk: headlong rush and allowing a guaranteed weak armor boost from any physical attack (other than icicle spear and scale shot). Shadow sneak is also nice for picking off weak mons while also allowing the PP stall of :kingambit: sucker punch.

1767632840686.png

:BW/Deoxys-Speed:
Deoxys-Speed @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 152 HP / 252 SpA / 104 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Psycho Boost
- Focus Blast
- Ice Beam

:Deoxys-Speed: is the main showcase of this team which is a nice cleaner late game and can also weaken walls like :ting-lu: early game, The HP is nice as you hit 279 so you only take 9% from LO recoil, with the HP evs you can live prio such as CB :rillaboom: grassy glide and :ceruledge: LO shadow sneak even after rocks. EV's in speed allow the outspeeding of :dragapult: . With max spatt modest you can heavily damage/ohko threats such as :dragapult: :ogerpon-wellspring: :cinderace: with psycho boost and at +two :moltres: which can open up :iron-valiant: .Webs is nice as you no longer are outsped by faster mons like booster :iron-valiant: and scarf :darkrai: . Tera fighting allows :deoxys-speed: to guaranteed ohko phys def :corviknight: with +2 focus blast as well as :ting-lu: as well as already ohkoing :tyranitar: and :heatran: while also gaining a resistance to prio from :kingambit: and :cinderace: . Pressure is also quite nice as you can help PP stall low PP prio moves like :kingambit: and :cinderace: sucker punch super quickly which can open up the other dark weak mons like :ceruledge: and :gholdengo: as they don't have to fear getting outsped.

Calcs:
252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 152 HP / 0 Def Deoxys-Speed in Grassy Terrain: 205-243 (73.4 - 87%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Grassy Terrain recovery
252+ Atk Life Orb Ceruledge Shadow Sneak vs. 152 HP / 0 Def Deoxys-Speed: 198-237 (70.9 - 84.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ SpA Life Orb Tera Fighting Deoxys-Speed Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Corviknight: 511-602 (128 - 150.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ SpA Life Orb Tera Fighting Deoxys-Speed Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 562-663 (109.3 - 128.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Deoxys-Speed Psycho Boost vs. 224 HP / 0 SpD Cinderace: 333-394 (93.2 - 110.3%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Deoxys-Speed Psycho Boost vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ogerpon-Wellspring: 270-320 (89.7 - 106.3%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Deoxys-Speed Psycho Boost vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Dragapult: 331-391 (104.4 - 123.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

:Rillaboom: + :Ogerpon: - These two were a nightmare for this team, :ogerpon: tera negates the speed drop from webs and combined with grassy terrain (if together) boosting ivy cudgel & grassy glide prio from :rillaboom: make the MU super difficult. Here I try to position :ceruledge: on rilla either through positioning or switching in directly and going for SD to immediately threaten it. I also like to preserve :iron-valiant: to gain vacuum wave chip and save :gholdengo: + :raging-bolt: HP.

Stall - The stall MU is super difficult for this team. The standard double removal stall is manageable but still difficult as you can position :deoxys-speed: late game for clean up and forcing :blissey: to tera dark with :deoxys-speed: and :gholdengo: so :iron-valiant: can clean up. However, a :clodsire: stall is almost completely unwinnable as the only mon that can do something to :clodsire: is :deoxys-speed: which gets shut down with tera steel/dark :clodsire: . The best case scenario is that :clodsire: tera darks so :iron-valiant: can kill with moonblast but its highly unlikely.

Sub :Dragonite: - Most sets of :dragonite: are fine as you’ve got lunge :araquanid: and :deoxys-speed: to revenge. However if :dragonite: subs on the :araquanid: it becomes very difficult, if it happens then :gholdengo: is forced to switch in and tera the next turn for the Eq immunity then revenge kill with MIR. However most sets of :dragonite: are manageable.

:Ogerpon-Cornerstone: - I either trade 1 for one with :ceruledge: or :iron-valiant: as it always survives power whip from :ogerpon-cornerstone: . I lose a priority user however since I have triple priority with :raging-bolt: :Iron-valiant: and :ceruledge: it isn't the biggest deal.

Electric Types - :zapdos: gets checked by :raging-bolt: , if they volt into :great-tusk: then hard :gholdengo:. Against :raging-bolt: the best option is to trade one for one which is definitely worth the trade as :raging-bolt: is a good asset against this team, you can also go into timid :raging-bolt: and ohko if they want to risk the speed tie.

Moreover, :deoxys-speed: and :gholdengo: have to land focus blast to get past the bulky dark types like :ting-lu: and :kingambit: , sometimes they're gods and land 3 in a row, otherwise they just completely blank and throw the game. It requires a bit of RNG and is sometimes can be inconsistent (even though HO is alr MU fishy)

The team mostly does well into balance, bulky offense and hyper offense structures as you have strong attacks as well as lots of prio to revenge kill mons
