Welcome back to 2v2PL V! 2v2PL is a 6-team tournament, lasting for roughly 7 weeks. Only post in this thread if you wish to manage, and have sufficient activity for the entirety of the tournament. You may sign up as a solo manager if you wish. Managers will be picked by the hosts and the UM forum staff based on prior 2v2 achievement and ability to demonstrate general good conduct.

This year's format will be as follows:
  • SV 2v2 Doubles Best of 7
  • SV 2v2 Doubles
  • SV 2v2 Doubles
  • SS 2v2 Doubles
  • SM 2v2 Doubles
  • ORAS 2v2 Doubles

Why you would be a good manager:

Auction budget is 90k. The minimum amount of players required is 8 (6 starters + 2 substitutes). There are no retains. Managers will be allowed to self-buy for 15k for the first manager, and 18k for the second (for a total of 33k for both)

This tour will have a $120 Prize pool courtesy of Morgan

Manager signups will close at Sunday, January 18th, at 12:00 PM EST, after which Player Signups and the Commencement thread will go up.

Why you would be a good manager: Whilst neither of us has experience managing official smogon tours, I personally have had success managing sizeable discord team tours, namely LGBTPL, and have acted as shadow manager for official team tours in some capacity, as has Borscht. We both are passionate about 2v2, and involved in the tier, I myself have played 2v2 in umpl and won 2 of the recent classic tours (qualling for invites). We would love for this tour to be our first chance at managing properly and we both have no life would be very committed to the tour. hope you consider us :3c

I only got given this picture not a team name so just guessing... Team Name: Slashing Leaves

Why you would be a good manager: Managed last year 2v2pl, made playoffs. I put in way to much effort into that tour, but now I got a lot more experience and know what not to do (last year... not gonna elaborate on that I was young and dum :) Yk i would say I'm good at old gens but classic says otherwise, I have plenty of teams, and im experienced in all tiers... yeah I'll say that. Played pretty solid in UMPL as well, so at least one tier i can play rn.
Maybca obviously better than me, just gonna copy paste their words "I’m a new 2v2 player who is passionate by the tier, I enjoy playing Oras bw and sv, I managed umfl and my team never lost a single week (slashing leaves) and so i want to run it back in 2v2 pl, we both know a lot about the 2v2 community, I also made semi final of Oras 2v2 by playing a lot of Mainers"

Confirm as always thank glitched for the amazing art, I want to add that we are both really hype by this tournament and we will give everything if we have the chance to manage it.
Edit : And it’s Slashing leaves not kartana slashing leaves.

Chris and I are extremely versed in the 2v2 and general doubles community, having each played most if not all major 2v2 and doubles tournament throughout the last calendar year with impressive records. Chris has been an active Pokémon player dating back to current gen 7 with impressive results in IRL and Smogon tournaments to boot. I started seriously competing in 2024 and though my efforts won Doubles World Cup of Pokemon and was voted (co) best new player my first year competing. Chris won UMBD earlier last year and I have generally held positive records in all 2v2 tournaments I've played thus far. Chris also managed the most recent Doubles World Cup of Pokemon for team Northeast and led them to playoffs as the 1 seed. Chris and I are culture builders and together we will provide the experience and atmosphere necessary for a successful 2v2pl team.

Why you would be a good manager: I as a Player Played for 2 team tour right now CCC6 for Odyssean Oddishes winning consolation trophy And in HGPL V I have played for fors lasses where we were champion ( 6-3 ) And for my friend vwnz have played in Team tour like SSNDPL I , NDPL VI , FCPL V , HGPL V , OUFL II , UUBER PL , UWC for FRANCE we both have team tour experience And as manager we only have 1 tour experience FCW it is a Draft league held in Frost Battle league I and vwnz will led our team to success in 2v2 PL
