Feb 24 is a super flexible meta and if you don’t like it probably just don’t play it. When new players played the month (like me last pl) there was a lot of innovations and new trends. It doesn’t hurt having a more developed meta with clear archetypes too. Def one of the most stable months.
Nice to see you respond to this thread!! In addition to the last pl I think we also saw a fair amount of development in the tier during NDAMPL and would personally like to see how far people can take it given another teamtour. Iride you’ve also done incredibly well in this metagame in temtours so I’d really love to hear your opinion on it too! Your use of Tyrantrum is probably the think that sticks in my memory the post about Feb24 development over the past year.
As for my personal opinion on the matter, I think that we ought to have at least a couple mainstay tiers in the 35 Premier League and keep including those tiers until new ones prove to be of even better quality and competitiveness. If people have arguments specifically on the grounds of metagame quality, balance, and competitiveness with regards to February 2024 or March 2024 then I would genuinely love to hear them; such discussion on the merits of individual metgames as tiers was one of my goals with starting this thread. In general, it should become increasingly difficult to point to older metagames as among the best we’ve had to date, as each new month is yet another chance to dethrone them. If we truly have not seen the like of formats from nearly 2 years ago, I think that speaks volumes about the need to include them in the Premier League and raises larger questions about the tier and community as a whole, but those questions are best contended with at a later date in a more appropriate avenue.
