AG Iron Treads [QC: 2/2] (GP 0/1)

[SET]
Specially Defensive (Iron Treads) @ Leftovers
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
IVs: 16 Def
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to its ability to resist both of Miraidon’s STAB moves and reliably 2HKO it with Earthquake, as well as its access to Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin, Iron Treads is able to carve out a solid niche as a utility Pokemon. Knock Off allows Iron Treads to cripple foes by removing important items from potential defensive switch-ins, such as Heavy-Duty Boots from Ho-Oh and Alomomola and Leftovers From Ting-Lu. Knock Off also allows Iron Treads to punish Ghost-types, primarily Calyrex-S, that attempt to switch in to block Rapid Spin. Iron Treads runs maximum special bulk investment to check threats such as Miraidon lacking Overheat and Eternatus lacking Fire-type coverage. Lowering its Defense IVs to 16 gives Iron Treads a Special Defense boost instead of a Defense boost from Quark Drive; this allows it to check Miraidon more easily. Tera Normal enables Iron Treads to check Calyrex-S in a pinch if its checks have been weakened.

Iron Treads faces competition for a teamslot with Ting-Lu, which is generally bulkier and is also able to check Calyrex-S. Thus, Iron Treads works best on teams that already have solid options against Calyrex-S and would appreciate the entry hazard removal that it provides. Iron Treads struggles to deal with Koraidon; hence, partners that can deal with it, such as Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, Arceus-Fairy, Alomomola, and Skeledirge are greatly appreciated. Iron Treads is also vulnerable to Calyrex-S, so checks such as Arceus, Kingambit, Mandibuzz, and Wo-Chien are a necessity as well. Iron Treads likes teammates that can check Kyogre, which it struggles with, such as Koraidon and Miraidon on offense teams and Clodsire and Blissey on stall teams. Iron Treads also benefits from the support of the previously mentioned Clodsire and Blissey to scout out a potential Overheat from Miraidon and provide the team with a secondary Miraidon check. Iron Treads lacks reliable recovery, so it greatly appreciates the Wish support from Alomomola; in return, the Rapid Spin support provided by Iron Treads allows Alomomola to run items other than Heavy-Duty Boots, such as Leftovers or Rocky Helmet.

Iron Treads can run a suicide lead set on hyper offense teams, running Focus Sash with Bulldoze and a more offensive EV spread; however, it is often outclassed by other suicide leads due to only being able to set up Stealth Rock. Volt Switch gives Iron Treads the ability to pivot , but it often struggles to fit this into its moveset. Additionally, Volt Switch can easily be blocked by the many Ground-types in the tier that have no trouble switching in on Iron Treads already, such as Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Physical attackers such as Koraidon, Zacian-C, Ho-Oh, and Arceus-Ground can threaten to deal massive damage to Iron Treads. Arceus-Ground is particularly notable for being able to switch in and set up freely against it.

**Kyogre**: Kyogre threatens to OHKO Iron Treads with Origin Pulse and Water Spout, although due to its lack of reliable recovery and reliance on its items, its does not prefer to switch into Iron Treads.

**Gliscor**: Once Gliscor has been poisoned by its Toxic Orb, Iron Treads is not able to make progress against it. Gliscor is also able to cripple Iron Treads by removing its Leftovers with Knock Off and can set entry hazards that Iron Treads struggles to remove.

**Defensive Arceus Formes**: Iron Treads struggles to deal meaningful damage against defensive Arceus formes such as Arceus-Water, Arceus-Fairy, and Arceus-Ground, and any meaningful damage it can deal is easily healed off with Recover. Furthermore, these formes are able to cripple Iron Treads with Will-O-Wisp, and Arceus-Water and Arceus-Ground can both deal massive damage with Judgment.

Thanks to its ability to resist both of Miraidon’s STABs and reliably 2HKO Miraidon with Earthquake and its access to solid hazard control options in Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin, Iron Treads is able to carve out a solid niche as a utility Pokémon Pokemon (no accent in analyses haha). Knock Off allows Iron Treads to cripple opponents by removing important items such as Heavy-Duty Boots from potential defensive switch-ins such as Ho-oh Ho-Oh and Alomomola. Knock Off also allows you Iron Treads to punish Calyrex Shadow Calyrex-S (it's how we write it in analyses) and other Ghost-type not really sure about this - can't think of any other good Ghost type apart from Caly-S Pokemon that attempt to switch in to prevent Rapid Spin. just saying "Caly-S and Tera-Ghost users [examples] - should be good enough. Iron Treads runs max HP investment and max Sp. Def SpD investment to allow it to check threats such as Miraidon lacking Overheat and Eternatus lacking Fire-Type coverage. Lowering your defense IVs to 16 allows Iron Treads to receive a special defense SpD (not sure, but as far as I know this is how we write it in analyses) boost instead of a defense boost from Quark Drive; this allows Iron Treads to check Miraidon more easily. Tera Normal allows Iron Treads to check Calyrex-Shadow Calyrex-S in a pinch if your team’s Calyrex-Shadow checks have already been weakened.

Iron Treads can work on almost any playstyle but works best on bulkier teams that appreciate the hazard control that Iron Treads provides. Iron Treads struggles to deal with Koraidon; hence, partners that can deal with it, such as Alomomola, Skeledirge, and defensive Arceus forms just write Fairy and Water here, should be good enough if it's not already clear enough, are greatly appreciated. Iron Treads also struggles to deal with Calyrex-Shadow Calyrex-S, so checks such as Arceus-Normal Arceus, Mandibuzz, and Wo-Chien are a necessity as well. Kyogre is another wallbreaker that Iron Treads struggles with; thus, Iron Treads appreciates teammates that can check Kyogre, such as Koraidon and Miraidon on offense teams and Clodsire and Blissey on stall teams. Iron Treads also appreciates the support of the previously mentioned Clodsire and Blissey to scout out potential overheated Overheat more of a GP thing, but I think this can be framed in a better way. this is sounding a bit unclear Miraidons and provide the team with a secondary Miraidon check. Iron Treads lacks reliable recovery, so it greatly appreciates the Wish support from the previously mentioned Alomomola; in return, the Rapid Spin support provided by Iron Treads allows Alomomola to run items other than Heavy-Duty Boots. - just give one or two examples here (I'd assume you would want Mola to run Rocky Helmet, so just mention it.

Iron Treads can run a suicide lead set on hyper offense teams with a jolly nature Jolly nature and an offensive spread of 252 Atk/4 Spd/252 Spe - don't think you need to mention it out of your way as such, should go without saying, its fine if you want to though. using the same moveset; however, Iron Treads is often outclassed by other suicide leads due to only being able to setup Stealth Rock and being setup fodder for setup (since it's talking about SD and DD) sweepers such as SD Swords Dance Koraidon, Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground, and SD Arceus-Normal. Swords Dance Arceus Volt Switch gives Iron Treads the ability to pivot; however, Iron Treads often struggles to fit it into its moveset. Also, Volt Switch can easily be blocked by the many Ground types Ground-types in the tier that have no trouble switching in on Iron Treads already, such as Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground.

Gliscor is also able to cripple Iron Treads by removing its leftovers with Knock Off and is able to set hazards that Iron Treads struggles to remove.
I think you can definitely mention something as "Defensive walls" which Treads struggles with (Water, Fairy, Ting-Lu) b/c Treads virtually can't threaten them back with its 4MSS.
QC 1/2. This is mostly good. Just some issues with the wordings but that's more into GP territory. Nice work.

Thanks to its ability to resist both of Miraidon’s STABs and reliably 2HKO Miraidon with Earthquake and its access to solid hazard control options in Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin (stealth rock isn't hazard control), Iron Treads is able to carve out a solid niche as a utility Pokémon. Knock Off also allows Iron Treads to punish Ghost-Types such as Calyrex-S, Giratina-O, and Skeledirge that attempt to switch in to block Rapid Spin. (knock off is not even a 4HKO on HP invested girao, and i feel like skele would never switch in to treads for spinblocking, not to mention unnecessary for stall teams anyway. you can just say "punishes Ghost-types, primarily Calyrex-S") Iron Treads runs maximum special bulk investment max HP investment and max SpD investment to allow it to check threats such as Miraidon lacking Overheat and Eternatus lacking Fire-Type coverage. Iron Treads can work on almost any playstyle but (you're primarily running it on some BOs and occasionally stalls, yes it could worko anywhere but that's not important to mention) works best on bulkier teams (i don't feel this is entirely true, as far as treads BOs go you run offensive structures w teammates like gambit n kyogre) that appreciate the hazard control that Iron Treads provides. Iron Treads struggles to deal with Koraidon; hence, partners that can deal with it, such as Alomomola, Skeledirge, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy (mention ho-oh, and i would put not put mola and skele first) are greatly appreciated. Iron Treads also struggles to deal with Calyrex-S, so checks such as Arceus, Mandibuzz, and Wo-Chien (kingambit should be mentioned after arceus) are a necessity as well. Kyogre is another wallbreaker that Iron Treads struggles with; thus, Iron Treads appreciates teammates that can check Kyogre, such as Koraidon and Miraidon on offense teams and Clodsire and Blissey on stall teams. (think there should at least be a couple of lines explaining why treads is "niche" and not used too often, i.e. its drawbacks in a nutshell)
