Project SV DOU Teambuilding Competition v3: Week 33 (Sticky Webs)

:primarina: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :roaring moon: :gholdengo: :porygon2: :iron-hands:

This was inspired by some tailroom teams and P2 balance teams from VGC regulation F. This was a tailroom team, so I had the right to create some of the goofiest EVs known to man. :primarina: lives sludge bomb from :landorus:, booster energy Thunderclap from :raging-bolt:, and horn leech from :ogerpon-wellspring: while outspeeding :tornadus: in tailwind and holds the mystic water to boost its power without suffering recoil chip. :ogerpon-hearthflame: lives blood moon from life orb :ursaluna-bloodmoon: and often survives 2 :chien-pao: ice spinners, while having fewer speed investment than most, allowing it to function in trick room. :roaring-moon:, :gholdengo: and :porygon2: all are relatively standard, and the :iron-hands: moveset was something I cooked up a few months ago but never found the chance to use. I'm still not sure how good the slow :ogerpon-hearthflame: spread is and how good this team is, and some players might opt for the standard :ogerpon-hearthflame: spread rather than mine. Some players might also remove :primarina: for :ursaluna-bloodmoon: which is fair.

:roaring-moon: :kingambit: :landorus: :primarina: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :rillaboom:

I really like how Primarina matches up into most of Kingambit’s common checks, especially its ability to consistently pressure Landorus even through redirection with Hyper Voice, which can be difficult for Kingambit to deal with on its own. Since Kingambit has seen less usage lately, I started building around this two-piece core.
I opted for a Choice Scarf Primarina to reliably outspeed Landorus without risking taking a Sludge Bomb, while also outspeeding Tornadus and catching players off guard with Icy Wind. Moonblast lets Primarina threaten Fighting types like Iron Hands, while Flip Turn helps maintain momentum. I rounded out the team with common partners, achieving both the FWG core and the Fantasy core.

(i cant do cool sprites sry)

Primarina is a mon i do not rate too highly however i thought id try joining one of these competitions.
this team aims to play with a psyspam tailroom core utilizing icy wind fast Primarina to help slow down mons and calm mind Tera Psychic Iron crown to tear through opposing teams. this team also achieves the FWG and Fanstasy cores respectively.
Bulky Landorus-I is a cool tech on tailroom to maybe live certain hits it wouldnt usually however these spreads are kind of basic.
first time joining one of these so gonna keep my explain brief. enjoy hopefully we can get the w :3.

I think its interesting to see that all 3 teams share the moon, the oger and (ofcourse) the prim. I don't have any real strong feelings about any of these 3 teams, id say all 3 look fine to me however, I do quite like the aesthetics and colour combo of Xmarsh's team so ill vote for him.

to be completely honest, none of the teams pop out to me as very unique, especially because they all have a similar concept of tailroom with primarina getting some speed. However, the only primarina that I can genuinely see as becoming a threat is budgie's cuz of its ability to set up using the speed and damage control support. My vote therefore goes to budgie pup stew.

Congratulations to xmarsh for winning (again!)! This week's theme will be

(idk what to put for this ;w;)
Sticky Webs are an underexplored speed control option is very flexible and and makes some mons from agonisingly mid speed tier into game-sweeping threats. It requires very specific positioning to work and can't wait to see what y'all build

Voting ends Thursday, 22nd of January

I was kind of sad that no one built anything this week despite the theme being really interesting, so I decided to build something myself.
:ribombee: :kyurem: :gholdengo: :chi-yu: :ogerpon-wellspring: :okidogi:
Webs is an archetype I’m familiar with from DUU, where Upper Hand Okidogi is a really nice pick for it. In DOU though, it doesn’t work on Dragonite, which sucks, but I still decided to keep it for other priority moves, while filling the team with some of the tier’s biggest powerhouses like Specs Chi-Yu and Gholdengo. Wellspring helps the team with redirection and Taunt for disruption, while Kyurem is the perfect Pokémon for this archetype, threatening Flying-types, providing additional speed control with Glaciate, and hitting hard.

ngl, I already voted Xmarsh the last few times so im feeling a bit bad for the other contestants. Therefor I will cast my vote to the builder who isn't Xmarsh
