Welcome to the third AAA Ladder Tour! In this tournament, players will be laddering for a top spot on the ladder, and the top 16 ladder-ers will qualify for playoffs! For more information, please look below!
Stage 1: Laddering
Players will be playing on the main Pokemon Showdown server's Almost Any Ability ladder on an alt account that has been registered in this thread in a cycle (7 days), where the top 4 players with the highest ELO will qualify for playoffs. There is a ladder tour room to watch games. There will be 4 cycles, which totals to 16 players in playoffs. All games that contain a player using an alt that contains the correct prefix will be forced to be public.
Stage 2: Playoffs
Playoffs will be a Seeded Best-Of-Three, Single-Elimination-based tour (ie: Seed 1 vs Seed 16, Seed 2 vs Seed 15, and so on). Games are to be played the Smogtours server. Replays are Mandatory. Each round will last 1 week.
IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE POSTING: All standard tournament rules and regulations apply. All alt accounts must contain the prefix, and must not be offensive or impersonate other users(this will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis at the hosts' discretion). When signing up, please use /linksmogon to link your PS account to your Smogon. All accounts must NOT ladder before signing up. All players will only be allowed one alt per cycle. Hence, you are strongly recommended against editing your signup post once you have posted. If you have been caught cheating (eg: using alts to boost your elo), your Smogon account will be disqualified from the tour and you may be subject to other punishments. Once you make the top 4 and qualify (this does not mean making the top 4 at any given point during the cycle, it means being in the top 4 at the end of the cycle), you’re qualified for playoffs. You are free to ladder any other week you wish. However, making the top 4 more than once won’t give a player anything other than personal satisfaction and bragging rights. If a person qualifies again during the cycle after their initial qualification, the newly qualified account will be skipped and the next unqualified account will be selected from the leaderboard to participate in the tournament. Make sure to register your accounts!
An example signup post would look like this:
alt name: [PREFIX] UT
Have I read the rules?: yes
Have I linked my PS account using /linksmogon?: Yes
We will be staggering the cycle end dates to cater to different timezones. Cycles will start either Sunday or Monday when UT posts the prefix here, and will end at:
Cycle 1: <t:1770562800:F>
Cycle 2: <t:1771178400:F>
Cycle 3: <t:1771797600:F>
Cycle 4: <t:1772420400:F>
All qualifiers will get a vote to trigger an SV AAA suspect test of their choice! (must be something in line with tiering policy, council can veto if too crazy, please don't try to free Koraidon). If there is no majority, the tour winner gets to pick from the leading options.
