Description: I hadn't planned on recommending my favourite/greatest movie of all time again quite so soon, but 2026 is off to a horrible start as we've lost 2 iconic cast members this month already: Cheung Yan-Yuen (Beggar) and Siu-Lung Leung (The Beast). So, consider this an unofficial tribute nomination.

Parker's Point: Another loss for the video game adaptations. This was probably the easiest one to do and they still got most of it wrong. Soundtrack still slaps tho.

Film: Identity
Genre: Mystery, Thriller
Description: A group of strangers find themselves stranded at the same motel during a bad storm and subsequent floods, and soon after find themselves at the center of a series of grisly crimes being committed by someone they can't catch or identify.

Very cool and simple concept, plus it's a quick watch at just an hour a half in runtime. Definitely recommend if it crosses a streaming service you own someday.

Film: The Rip
Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery
Description: A Miami police squad raid an alleged stash house and find more than they bargained for, prompting them to adjust their strategy on the fly to keep information from leaking, while also staying vigilant for anyone dirty working within their team.

A very simple concept done extremely well. This film builds and holds suspense effortlessly and makes for an incredibly easy watch.

Film: If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You
Genre: Dark Comedy, Psychological Thriller, Drama
IMDb Synopsis: While trying to manage her own life and career, a woman on the verge of a breakdown must cope with her daughter's illness, an absent husband, a missing person, and an unusual relationship with her therapist.

Parker's Point: Not an easy watch, as it tackles one of the most uncomfortable topics possibly ever - regretting parenthood.

Description: Gotta go fast once more! And once again, with plenty of Easter eggs sprinkled in from various games and other Sonic media as all of our favourite live-action characters return in the 2nd sequel.

I am way late to the party after missing my chance to see it in theatres and only catching it last week as it made its Netflix debut. Earlier today it was announced that Ben Kingsley has joined the cast for the 4th movie!

Description: A young FBI agent working a low-effort job in the basement of the White House is suddenly pulled into the field and on the run when he gets tied up protecting the daughter of a recently killed couple who may have ties to a deep conspiracy going back many years.

The show's first 2 seasons were pretty decent, but for some reason the 3rd season just popped for me - something about the combination of characters they chose to involve who were left over from the prior seasons and the new characters they introduced, with the plot they wrote, just works really well. I was going to be modestly satisfied having crossed something off my Netflix watchlist towards the end, and now I'm really hoping they extend for another season.

A very well-written "what if..." type of sci-fi with a linear plot, touching on several moral and technical complications that would likely arise naturally if this sort of tech were to one day present itself as reality.
