Hi PU.

I have decided to say goodbye to Smogon, and most especially to the PU community, which has been like a second home to me. I had the opportunity to grow as person by interacting with you all, and although I haven't been active for several years now, I still feel at home exploring these forums and watching you play or share teams. Seeing how much the tier has grown since the old days of SM PU, when Mudsdale didn't even learn Stealth Rock, always fills my heart with happiness. Although we still don't know what "PU" means, I'm sure it no longer translates into "Pee-Yew these mons stink".

I would love to write something lengthy, and express how much I have loved this tier, how much I have enjoyed and found peace talking with you all for countless hours in the PU room, on the discord, or debating on the forums, or playing on the ladder, in the roomtours, in tournaments... Sometimes I wish I could go back, and keep on playing PU, building, chatting with you all, but life goes on, and I know my days on this website are now over.

As a goodbye, I'll do what I do best : sharing a colorful team, and telling a goofy story. Enjoy !

Jesus Pawmot, our Lord and Savior.

Thanks to His blessings, He can bring back from the dead the Worthy and the Brave, but also the evil ones, because He cares for everyone, and knows that nobody is fundamentally flawed. He is our Light, our Hope. He lives forever, and cannot be defeated. Nothing can ever extinguish His Light. Nothing !

The Master of Illusions.

Ah, beware of the Master of Illusions.

He will try to lure you into dead ends, and manipulate you through Pride, Envy and Hatred. Beware of his Illusions ! Only Jesus Pawmot can save you from him, so pray Jesus Pawmot, pray Him ! Chant His Glory !

The BOOMboclat.

The Earth is in danger ! Pollution menaces our home ! Our hearts feel heavy, slow, hopeless, however... the BOOMboclat is here ! An explosion of energy, of pure, green energy !

As an alliance of the Grass and the Electricity, of Nature and Technology, the Boomboclat embodies renewal, and announces a new era of prosperity and harmony with nature. And that speed ! Look at how it glides over the grass, over the hills and waves ! It is so light-hearted that it literally moves at the speed of Light !

As it flies through the meadows, the oceans and the clouds, the BOOMboclat fills our hearts with hope and light ! With hope and delight ! Some say, this sphere of joy was sent by Jesus Pawmot, to remind us of His Presence, as an ever-travelling message of hope, appearing in the places where the Master of Illusions threatens to take over our souls.

The Fish & Sheesh.

Don't let your Hunger be your master ; dont be its slave ! For your Hunger was instilled in you by the Master of Illusions himself ! Pride, Envy, Hatred, Hunger, how many tricks ? Don't fall in the trap. Don't try to eat this fish ! Like a cursed apple, the Fish & Sheesh is not to be eaten : it can only ever eat you.

Fiery Heart. Our loyal and fiery Hero, surrounded by flames of purity.

He is the friend and companion of Jesus Pawmot, and together they travel across the world, to bring light and hope to the people. If you see orange flames and a warm light appear over the horizon, in the darkest hours of the night, it is not the sun rising, but the saintly halo of Fiery Heart, that always precedes the arrival of Jesus Pawmot.

Z.

Nobody knows who the mysterious "Z" is. She moves stealthily and very swiftly, in the forests and mountains, near small towns and bigger cities. When someone shouts "Z !" everybody takes shelter, and soon the streets become empty. Many say she is a servant of the Master of Illusions, maybe even she is an illusion created by him.

You will never see "Z", except out of the corner of your eye. Old stories say that, when the presence of "Z" is felt in a town, several people die in the following days from a mysterious poison, to which there is no antidote. Only one protection exists : praying the One and Only, our Lord of Light, Jesus Pawmot, and His companion, Fiery Heart.​

Now, how to play this team ?​

There are two possible ways of playing it.​

Tryhard way:​

You are trying hard to win. In that case, you should first figure out how the ability Illusion works. If you manage to do that, take a break because you just spent 2 years studying the topic. Then, start a battle, make petty plays and reads, outplay your opponent in disbelief, and grab your win. Ah, the tryhard way, evil way !​

Devout way:​

Winning is not your ultimate priority. Those who follow the devout way are ready to die for our lord Jesus Pawmot. You would rather lose gloriously on the battlefield than to actually follow a path of envy and desire. The devout way is the way of Beauty and Harmony. Winning, losing, it doesn't matter. Some may call it "flex", some may call it "style", few will call it "skill", and I will call it "faith". Playing at this level is like following a ritual to purify your soul.

Here are some examples of the rituals you can follow during a game. You can even follow all the rituals during the same game, if you are particularly wishing for Jesus Pawmot to bless you.

"Z" purification ritual

This ritual is designed to purify yourself from the toxins of "Z". It consists in always leading with "Z" and clicking Toxic no matter what. Then, flamethrower or endeavor something, and next, let her die - or you can switch her out after having poisoned a foe, and sacrifice her a bit later. You are now free from the influence of "Z" ! But if you ever feel that the purification wasn't complete, pray Jesus Pawmot and ask him to revival bless "Z", and start the ritual again with her.

"BOOMboBLAST !" ritual

This second ritual allows you to purify the planet and your soul from the pollution and corruption of modern society, as well as to reconnect with nature. The ritual is simple : send "Boomboclat" to the field and go "BLAST !" which means : Tera Grass Specs Chloroblast, no matter what is in front of it, because your devotion to the Lord Jesus Pawmot is unconditional. But do not die stupidly for Jesus Pawmot : if the opponent team features an amoonguss, maybe you could postpone the BOOMboBLAST !. Heart and mind must work together for the soul to be freed from its passions. You can also say in the chat "For my Lord Jesus Pawmot, I hereby make the choice to go BOOMboBLAST !" but that may be a little too fanatic, too passionate, and you should strive for peace, not passion.

"Full Pardon" ritual.

This is the greatest ritual of all. Following this ritual, you will first triumph over the two evil forces "Z" and the "Master of Illusions" by letting them be defeated on the battlefield. Once that is done, you will ask Jesus Pawmot, the Merciful, to revive both of them, and let them return to the overworld. You will not shiver, you will not doubt your ability to defeat evil a second time. The battle will continue, and both "Z" and the "Master of Illusions" will perish again. Victory will be attained once Fiery Heart, the loyal companion of Jesus Pawmot, will be standing proud and resolute on the field, surrounded by the ashes of purification and by tiny gusts of wind swirling around his eternal flames of courage.

Here is an example game where all rituals have been followed piously, culminating in a BOOMboBLAST ! and the triumph of Fiery Heart :

In this glorious battle, "Z" spreads her poison on a desperate foe. Shortly after, we see the Masters of Illusions taking on the appearance of Jesus Pawmot and deceiving everyone around him. But as we see it plotting nastily, we understand that we have been fooled. Even though both "Z" and the Master of Illusions eventually end up being defeated, we ask Jesus Pawmot to revive both of them, only to defeat them again : because when your heart is pure, you are capable of withstanding the attacks of evil forever. Once this Full Pardon ritual has been completed, we call for the Boomboclat to explode in a burst of green light, so as to purify the world polluted by the ashes and the corruption spread by "Z" and the Master of Illusions. Deep in our heart, we scream : "BOOMboBLAST !" Finally, we pave the way for Fiery Heart to step on our land and hills, where he comes to sit calmly, victorious and triumphant.

Now, you know everything about Jesus Pawmot, His good friend Fiery Heart, and the malicious Master of Illusions, as well as the mysterious and deadly "Z", the Fish & Sheesh, and the "Boomboclat", bringer of hope and delight.

Bonjour Ktut - I had a great time testing this team out, and thank you for the nice shoutout! I'm happy to see you took the Secret Santa team nickname+Leppa set I had for Pawmot and ran with it. Dazzling Wave Crash (+Tera Water for the early-game OHKO if you're not using Strong Jaw: 252 Atk Bruxish Wave Crash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Ambipom: 237-280 (81.4 - 96.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO)) is a great way to take out Ambipom - I've lost count of how many ladder games I've played versus T1 Ambipom, but you can tell in this game how much I hate them (me vs someone on ladder a moment ago). KOing a common priority user like Ambipom certainly allows the rest of the team to make full use of double Focus Sash without fear of that strategy being foiled by Fake Out later on. Specs Chloroblast Helectrode is kind of crazy actually and is complemented by double Revival Blessing Pawmot; this strategy feels similar to kyuss' CB Raging Fury Arcanine being brought back again by Pawmot to wallbreak in Scyther meta and works just as well, letting it trade and claim multiple KOs. While it may not 2HKO something like Rotom-H (unless Rotom-H lacks HP investment!), it sets the stage nicely for a Focus Sash user like Z or the Master of Illusions to maim or KO something. It also forms that classic momentum core with Bruxish, forcing in Grass-types that Arcanine checks or sets up on and forces awkward switches out of the opponent. While I have the Fiery Heart in my PS avatar and am an avid user of the Baby Jesus, I am also a huge fan of dishonest Zoroark's Illusion, which you've capitalized on well here. It's a common sight for teams to load Palossand for Pawmot protection, or Milotic as insurance for Curse Arcanine, which +2 Sash Zoroark sends to the shadow realm for its teammates (assuming typical spreads). Salazzle, Pawmot, and Bruxish are all Pokemon I find to be particularly threatening in this meta and this team has essentially piled the brokens into one cohesive HO, tied together by the dark and the light, Illusion and Revival Blessing. At this point I'm just rambling because I enjoyed the team and wanted to tell you that you really haven't ever missed with any of your team posts. You truly are the Scientist (it's not Gigalith) and I don't have any improvements for this team right now. I was telling Akir this earlier, but you've always had a particular take on the game that I found refreshing, in that you weren't just a skilled battler or builder or simply a good poster; you had the results (a big ribbon win during one of PU's most competitive landscapes with arguably its best pool of players at that time), strong meta knowledge, skill in putting together innovative yet functional builds... everything pretty much. Sidenote, I still don't really understand the origins of your name. While there were times in PU that were rocky, I look back at my time spent with you here fondly, and I know that you'll excel at whatever you choose to do in life with how creative you are. This is probably really gushy by now, but know that we'll miss you.
