In week 4 of Goofy Ahh we are playing NU Alphabet Cup!​

Alphabet cup is an OM where pokemon gain access to moves that start with the same letter as their name! This applies to the entire evolutionary line as well since of course people could in theory be taught these moves then evolved. So swampert would be able to learn both Seed Bomb (S from swampert) and Megahorn (M from mudkip/marshtomp.) Not all letters are created equally! R pokemon get access to recover and rapid spin, D pokemon get diamond storm and dragon dance... there is a lot of room for creativity here.

In addition to the standard Alphabet Cup bans we are additionally banning typhlosion and typphlosion-hisui for our NU Alphabet cup format! Typhlosion gains access to quiver dance and torch song. Typh-H is currently on a watch list as a potential ban in regular Alphabet cup so we feel may be a bit too much for this format. Sceptile is also banned from standard Alphabet Cup and is therefore also banned here! Other than these bans mentioned, all of the NU builder is legal! Of course as in most OMs, tera is not legal.

This week I didn't purge anyone (other than sawkasm who asked to drop out, which also put me back in to keep even matchups) but expect another round of purges next week if needed! This tour is supposed to be fun and silly. Don't overthink things too much! Do your best though to get your games played or at least communicate with your opp. We don't want you to take things here too seriously, but we are only doing each format once so your opp may want to ya know... play the formats in the tour they signed up for. An act win means they missed out on playing this week (and therefore missed their chance at this format!) Not the end of the world but try to be considerate to those who want to participate! Also my bad on the Mix & Mega week. I thought using the new mega stones would bring in an element of hype... but feedback is that it wasn't the most enjoyable format. Thats on me, my bad guys lol
