Tournament Rules:
  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • If possible, schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can see what went down with scheduling. If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the opposing team's managers, and all of the players affected by the substitution to ensure that everyone is aware. Players who have already played or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, but they also contribute to usage stats to allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.
  • Every match is Bo1 unless specified otherwise

Wow... we actually did it!!! This is not only my second time winning anything in mons period in the 7 years I've been playing this game (almost 8... jesus) but the first time I've ever won a team tour after so many close calls over my last year of competing! This past year was definately full of some competative disappointments for myself, but to break that streak on a win in this tour with these people is beyond special to me, and I'm so proud of all of us. GGs Wellsprings, you guys managed to have an even crazier road here then we did, and gave us some great games in finals too! But now onto some shoutouts.

lost heros bello figo, while I am sorry that y'all didn't get to play a game I am so happy that we got to have you along for the ride, thank you for being awesome prescenses in the server and keeping everyone's spirits up! I'm sure, somewhere in the universe that accidentally drafting Lost Heros because we thought he was Ineros was the reason we won. Fuck likeshop.

LogIce hex I was so impressed by both of you for the effort you put in whenever we called upon you to play a format neither of you were particularily familiar with! You both are here because we trusted you to be good players when you needed to be and that paid off exactly how we needed it to! Hex, I've wanted to get to work with you again for a while because I knew your energy was infectious and you were an excellent player on top of that. I'm sorry that this was a bit of a rough go for you, but you should still be proud of that week 1 W, and I hope we can play more in the future! LogIce, we have been bumping in to each other for years atp through draft, and after Iride vouched for you + how I've seen your performances elsewhere I was excited to see what you could bring. Your enthusiasm you brought to trying new things each week and tossing out ideas made you excellent to work with, and you were a crucial part of us taking this home!

Ineros Jojen Our old gen heros, I knew I was excited to take you both on and you both performed beyond my expectations in entirely different ways! Ineros, I know you had a rough spot mid season but the energy you came to playoffs with was exactly what we needed. I wish I could have been more involved in the slot because SM really interests me, but you and Iride went in with such confidence that it was hard to find much useful to say! Even if I haven't know you for long, between this and our time in NFEPL I think that I am really excited to work with you going forwards in whatever else we find ourselves in! And Jojen, I knew you were a powerhouse since we teamed together in UMBD, and you absolutely proved me right in this tour. I appreciate your trust in me to use whatever I decided to throw at you, which I think cummulated in like a 80% clefable bring rate from us or something lol... You are such a fantastic player, and an amazing prescense on any team you are on! Now please do not kick my ass too hard in AGWL tomorrow.

jackuzzler Ahhhh!!!!!! We finally did it!!!
For those who don't know, Jack gave my my larger team tour debut in UUFPL, where before that I had just participated in the OG UUBPL and a few draft tours here or there. He believed in me when practically no one else did, and I managed to end that season with a 5-4 record, even earning the chance to play in semifinals tiebreaker. Its people like you who make this community a welcoming place for a newcomer, and I would never be where I am today if you did not give me that chance, I really mean it! I know we are gonna end up on so many more teams together in the future, and I can't wait for every single one!

Skyiew Despite almost ruining our auction plan due to leaving us with so little budget before the min player count was adjusted, you still were the person holding this team together. Never have I felt like I could trust someone more to pilot some completely random build and still come out one of the best players of this tour. Getting to build teams for you in UUFPL and seeing your success with them honestly lit a spark in me just as much as my own performance that season did, and getting the chance to work more directly with you was awesome! I wish I could have been more active in your channel, but i'm still thoroughly impressed nonetheless, thank you!

Iride I have managed all of one team tour before this, and it was a random draft tour where I had no real idea what was going on, and what I needed to do really lol. I honestly don't remember where exactly we met, but since you say it was Ubers draft I shall take your word for it! Managing with you was a very new experience for me, and taught me a lot of things for what I can do better going forwards, especially when you were there always pushing us to be our best. I appreciate you taking on extra load when I was feeling off, and I'm so proud of you for going out with a bang in playoffs after a start I know you weren't proud of. Thank you for making this so special!

OceanicGamer ilikeeatingcrayons Fc Bazingatron I want to give a shoutout to you guys for being really supportive when I was starting out in this tier, its people like y'all who make playing pokemon on smogon actually a good time aand not just a mindless cycle of smile when I win cry when i lose

I have discussed it a little bit, but this season hit during a pretty rough time in my life. I have been sick just over 2 months with some sort of unknown lung something, with not the greatest signs of recovering before my university degree ends. Playing saxophone and being outside are some of the best things I've been able to do for myself to help me stay sane, but because of my chest right now I just can't do those things. And obviously the recent shuffle of tier leadership was just another wrench in my emotional progression in the past little while, alongside all the random politics that I guess come from decisions needing to be made. Again, a huge thank you to my team for being able to step up through all the times I've been unavailable because all of this. We all know its hard to be steady when life is chaotic, and the grace that you all gave me was very much needed when some people still expected more of me then I could really provide.

There are so many people I wish I could thank, people who have stuck through with me for years and years through some of the biggest ups but most catastrophic downs of my life, who pushed me through when I didn't believe in myself and taught me to fight for myself and stand up for myself in ways I didn't think I could. There have been countless late nights where I have needed someone there to support me, and I'm lucky to say that I have had people who genuinely care about me who continued to help me through all of this, I really am forever grateful.

And I guess thats it, I won a pokemon tournament with my friends and have decided to be to sappy about it on the internet. Before you go, if you get a chance please listen to this album. My partner and I have it on vinyl, and I've shared it with some close friends who really really like it too! I always like recommending some good music <3

Celeste out!

We are the champions!
I’m glad nobody brought the wacky ass teams I built, but I had fun building and playing to help y’all, it was a pleasure to team up with you, very proud of our team

Also, another epic statline by bello figo “Tony Snell” lmao

Last year when this tour happened even though I was dogshit at the game (and still am now lel) I was really bummed out I didn’t get drafted (since I was also playing in other small teamtours at the time) and I set the goal for myself to get drafted and do well in the next iteration of the tour at the time. I feel like I finally took a step in fulfilling the expectations I set for myself while also getting a good record for myself with at least decent play, even my loss I’m not too mad about. Still room to improve but I’m satisfied with where my play went.

This tour’s time period was very rough for me, and I actually wanted to bench in the middle of it because I was so destroyed mentally I think I have the log of it somewhere lol. I’m glad that I was able to come back in playoffs and get some redemption out of it, and even if it was a small, stumbling step it’s a step nonetheless.

Shoutouts to bello figo for all the test games you were extremely helpful, you have good game sense and I hope to see you around more. You deserve this win and you can attribute all of my wins to you.

And to Iride and Celeste for drafting me despite forgetting who I was in auction :) (haha but I’ve already said my two cents on my thanks for you both, you two are excellent people and both of your help building in this shit tier was extremely helpful. Iride you don’t need explaining on why I’m so thankful for you in this tour with all of your motivation and heat builds, but I also hope we get to team up again Celeste!)

Might decide to play Ubers UU more in general as the year goes on but who knows. ggs to everyone

Managing tends to be no stranger to a person like me, having done so throughout the majority of last year across various playerbases as the :green-heart: ND Lurker, but between all the rough mental circumstances associated with this exact tour for me last year and my play/building not being quite up to my expectations, I was left with the general feeling that I could have stood up a lot more for the creativity aspects of Ubers UU.

That being said, as difficult as this memory was to harp on for the longest time, I also do believe it set me up for the greater good of the objectives I've found myself more motivated than ever to achieve, and to this I couldn't have done it without making sufficient progress as a player, teammate, and manager, but said efforts were not solely because of me, but also the team I wish to shoutout in this post now!

To the Wellsprings, I'm sorry for some of the luck on Saturday. I saw a lot of banter from the community regarding how it felt undeserved for you to make finals given the matches prior, but no one is deserving of such fortune. I personally think beneath everything, there is also a lot of team spirit, effort, and kindness amongst you guys that shouldn't be discouraged. Glad to have played again in finals.

Ineros Knew for a fact since then that it was only a matter of time before the stars aligned for me to finally pick you up for a team of mine, and in the tour I most wanted you in too. And the fact that we won together in a way that also suggests the overcoming of the greater challenges that bound us in our goals on this site before just makes me all the happier for you. I also can't mention how happy I was for you whenever you got to play SM, between your great overall record, seeing you step into a tier firsthand with nothing more than all the trust in the world and desire to play anything that came your way out. If I knew anything about you, it was that you were always the best person I knew as both my biggest supporter and an amazing player who always had the potential to keep doing the greatest things. My best friend and soulmate, I love you forever <3.

Celeste We've been together for a long time down the road from our loony days discussing natdex to helping each other prep for tours to getting drafted side by side in all the major uber teamtours, but I really couldn't have conquered my fears and done this tour again without reaching out to you to manage it with me. Still, the ways we grew up together were amazing to look back upon. I'd have never expected someone I first met in a random ubers draft tour to become one of the people i'd find myself closest to, whether its bickering over various team ideas, fighting, making up, and all the other sentimental things, the amount we had in relation to each other makes me eternally grateful to have you, my little sister.
Skyiew I think I would be just as surprised as anyone to see that one of the best AG players on the site and SCL guy didn't also have a stellar record in Ubers UU, being thrown into the wolves and often with nothing more than a paste and a message pin each week. Between being on a whole different level skill-wise in the limited testing you did with me and everyone else, and it was awesome seeing you pilot everything me and Celeste had to offer, and you were easily the best player in the pool and most expensive pick for a reason!
LogIce Logan Icicle. Highkey the steal of the season and backup slot we needed to clutch the wins to get here, and it's only unfortunate that we didn't start you out as it showed when you got off the bench and showed up just to hand off the pool in the super limited time you had to play. Needless to say, PSA to every manager in every teamtour, you are Him. Probably found myself struggling the least with building for you out of everybody given your proactivity in testing and the kinds of heinous stuff you were able to pull off with the teams I did cook up.
Jojen Our SS Swiss Army Knife, I remember Celeste and me initially hypothesising on the awkward concession of whether to get you or Skyiew due to our limited auction budget, so the fact that you went as little as you did for your overall performance and us knowing how good you were as a player is shocking. Expect to see more awesome things from you in the future especially with all the major official tours looking to be right up your alley. Keep on owning folks across the site.
jackuzzler You have a great friendship with Celeste and you were a great teammate to us all during the tour. Sorry your record didn't turn out amazing, especially with psychics and pheromosa lurking around every corner threatening to sweep in the 0 fairy-types and bad speed control tier. Regardless, from me personally; thank you so much for putting in all that effort to help stand up for Ineros in particular, your effort, patience, and willingness to experiment with different things I cooked up were more than needed and helped set us up to get the SM slot back on the road for the games that mattered.
hex Getting you early also suggested drafting sv ubers uu thanos logice so despite the less-than-stellar record for this alone you're worth all the books. On a more serious note, it is a little unfortunate we couldn't keep you in throughout the run, only 3-6 people can make it in at a time, but I genuinely think you're solid at the game, your dynamic with LogIce and Celeste was great, and you could have easily made up the rough ending we left you on had we found time to put you back into SV. I hope the experience of winning was an enjoyable one for you nonetheless.
lost heros Best of luck with 1v1 Circuit! I know our timeline might not have been what you expecting having signed up for this tour to play, and I'll take responsibility for this to some extent, but I want to say we also drafted you because you have a lot going for you as a player (if circuit itself is any indication), and I think Celeste's effort would have been perfect for you had you played. Regardless, enjoy the win, you deserve it for sure.
bello figo Our eyes on the social life road and testing goat. Your activity and support for the team despite the lack of games played was just what we needed in the ways that mattered, and I'm only regretful myself having not done better in the earlier week to make space for you to get to play before the games in playoffs. Really swag. I like to think there's an alternate timeline where you started/subbed over some of us and did great in the games that we played, everyone should be like you.
-----------------
Lacks My NDWC brother in arms, even on separate teams if there's one thing I knew for sure it's frankly that I couldn't make it to finals and write this post without telling the community just how much effort I noticed you putting into the whole experience. Ubers UU games are always a pleasure to watch with you in them and between putting me on edge throughout both games we played and generally being a great person to be around no matter what, I get the feeling you have a nice future ahead of you. Be sure to stay around!

Frito I don't know if you will ever see this, but among all the things you previously did in terms of advice, testing, banter, and contributions for both Celeste and me throughout our time with you, these were crucial to our team's success if not the Deos, and is something I generally feel is at least deserving of some honor. Really unfortunate that it turned out this way.

Very happy to have finally redeemed the emotional UUbers PL 1 disaster and won a teamtour as a manager in one sitting. It has also been a pleasure learning Ubers UU throughout this tour and UMPL in particular and I hope to have more solid experiences with it, as I really think it's a great UMs concept that pairs playerbase ingenuity with a love of some of the strongest Pokemon in the game.
