Note: I will be including support in these power rankings so it's not just who I think are idvually the best players. As another preface I have seen less of Fakes, elodin, and Mdragon's GSC than the other players on this list so my rankings for them are more likely to be off.

1. choolio

Choolio is likely at worse a top 3 player in this year's GSC pool, and would obviously be frontrunner in the pool no matter what. However the Wolfpack support in my mind pushes the slot to the top. Having Fear, D4 and coco support is insane, and i look forward to seeing what teams get brought from the Wolfpack this year.

2. MDragon
Like I said in the preface I haven't watched enough Mdragon to feel like I'm truly giving an accurate ranking, but with such a legendary GSC player and d0nut/Garay Oak support its hard to imagine M Dragon not putting up a good record.

3. Rubyblood

Ruby has had potentially the best year of any of this year's SPL players (besides maybe underlying/fluid), winning the circuit, winter seasonal, and putting up top 8 result in invitational. I rate Ruby lower than the 2 above him mainly due to weaker support relative to the Wolfpack/Classiest.

------- (I think the top 3 here has a bit of a clear gap over the next group of people)

4. Zokuru
Zok always has the potential to perform well in team tours especially with mangers he gets along with. Gorgie and Zok building together can give rise to some great new teams and have worked together in the past. The rest of the support on the team for GSC also seems solid so hopefully they can prevent to "unique" of loads.

5. Underlying/Fluid

Underlying has had quite a good year and has Vileman support for this SPL. Underlying's GSCPL, GC, and Invitational performances show his consistency against top players (although he was a lucky .... in GSCPL). There are no clear flaws when he plays, but it will be intresting how his consistent style translates against the SPL pool.

6. Jester

Very solid player, but Jester hasn't played too much GSC this year to my knowledge. It's also uncertain to me, how strong his GSC support will be, BlazingDark seems like good support and obviously ABR is very good at GSC but ABR's time is likely going to spread across many generations.

7. Aminita

Aminita has had a very solid year, putting up very good performances in the Winter Seasonal, and GSCPL. Aminita is a very creative builder (maybe too creative) and paired with Conflict is sure to be bringing good teams and to be well prepared for most opponents on this list. (Switched up on the day ones)

8. Fakes

There is a high likelihood I'm incorrect in this ranking, as many people better than me rate Fakes highly. The only GSC of his I have seen this year was from classic, where his play seems weaker than what I'd expect from those listed above him on this list. With more prep and focusing just on GSC, his play is likely to be on a much higher level for SPL though. Another thing lowering Fakes on this PR compared to those above him is the GSC support, Kingler/prinz are not GSC mains or builders for the tier as far as I know.

9. Ombrarch

I believe Ombrarch is on a relatively similar level of GSC as those ranked 4-8, but his support seems truly lacking compared to what others on this list have. I assume they have a GSC helper in their server but even that likely cannot be better support than Flict/Vileman/Gorgie/ABR unless they managed to convince Siatam, Soup or someone of that caliber to join the server.

10. Elodin

Elodin is clearly a top mons player in general, but his recent GSC results have been lacking. During classic this some of his play/teams brought seemed suspect. It is hard to rank elodin above Ombrach considering lack of general GSC play, and overall results this year, but as very good general mons player with a increased commitment to GSC his results could definitely go against what I would expect at the start of the season.

Hard to determine the last of Elodin's Lax's last move, based on play vap must be rest and is highly likely stalk.

prediction for the week as promised
not vileman vs vileman
Are you kidding ??? What the **** are you talking about man ? You are a biggest looser i ever seen in my life ! You was doing PIPI in your pampers when Vileman was beating players much more stronger then you! You are not proffesional, because proffesionals knew how to lose and congratulate opponents, you are like a lavos crying after i beat you! Be brave, be honest to yourself and stop this trush talkings!!! Everybody know that vileman am very good gsc player, i can win anyone in the world in single game! And "R" uby "B"lood is nobody for me, just a player who are crying every single time when loosing, ( remember what you say about Underlying ) !!! Stop playing with vilemans name, he deserve to have a good name during whole my gsc carrier, I am Officially inviting you to OTB gsc match with the Prize fund(against vileman) ! Both of us will invest 5000$ and winner takes it all!

I suggest all other people who's intrested in this situation, just take a look at my results in 2016 and 2017 GSC World championships, and that should be enough... No need to listen for every crying babe, Vileman is always play Fair ! And if someone will continue Officially talk about me like that, we will meet in Court! God bless with true! True will never die ! Liers will kicked off. ..

Okay time for my thoughts.

So far I've been surprised as hell.

Probably the most disappointing has been Ruby, but I feel him man it's not easy just being frustrated and feeling like nothing is going right and having a huge price on him. Elodin imo will regress down to say 6-3 but that is still huge for him(imo he shoulda lost to chools and zok both but both choked, as a choker myself I can understand.)

Ombrarch w1 obviously surprised the fuck out of everyone with the rollout bring and got an insane mu, afterwards he has become quite solid I expect a +-1 record but I don't have anything on the table now lol anything can happen. He's been good fsr.

Both fluid and aminita have been playing well and got benched but that's cuz they've gotten a few crucial things wrong, the pressure on the big stage is real, they'll either be brought back in somewhere (I expect sharks atleast to be fully qualled by w8 so aminita will prolly get one or two more chances). I expect the 2 subs will do fine, esp vileman who has been p hungry. Kith is also generally solid gscer.

Zokuru was playing well until that fucking rapid Spin, hopefully it's a 1 time thing he's way too good to be doing that. He'll defo go positive and cryos look like they're advancing so zokuru might try harder idk

The coco /Choolio slot has been rly fun, obv choolio wasn't as amazing as people expected and that's fine, he's older now. Coco now has finally come to spl with a vengeance, he has fully changed from Dpp hellpowna to gsc coco, and I'm extremely excited for every coco game.

M Dragon is M Dragon, whatever record he has right now he'll defo get 6 wins+some wins in playoffs, he's Mariano for a reason. Not much to say there. There's a reason he went for 1 trillion credits.

But I must say, Jester and fakes have been the 2 dudes I've been extremely enjoying. Every jester game is a fucking banger we already knew that but he's rly good this year for some reason, also having invi money winner BD helping him prolly helps, also this other guy abr I heard is p decent too. Fakes on the other hand idk what's happened to him but he's suddenly got rly good. He's bringing cool teams, he's doing well and even the Jester game he lost he had lots of chances.

Would love to see some more amazing games this spl, ik ppl have been clowning on the game quality but idk man it looks p decent now ngl.

Ever since I started playing, I’ve always found it important to give guidance to newcomers and to try to offer innovative ideas with the goal of improving the tier, providing a different perspective. This is also because I’ve always looked up to those kinds of players with great admiration.
They’re the same players who inevitably leave a lasting mark over time, and they really need no introduction.
Personally, I believe that at the core of every strong player there is a clear and well-defined identity — a recognizable trademark. Being able to build effectively is a significant advantage, and over time I’ve tried, in my own small way, to develop a clear identity for myself through different stages of growth.
I won’t deny that, recently, seeing people use my teams has been incredibly satisfying.

This SPL (where I consider myself quite fortunate to have participated) gave me the opportunity to build in the most important competition alongside Fear, Choolio, and D4 — masters and veterans of this tier — who have inevitably helped me improve.
For this reason, I’ve decided to share these teams that I would have liked to use, but didn’t get the chance to.
I hope this can be helpful for newer players (as it once was for me), and also offer more experienced players something to reflect on.
Some teams may seem a bit more difficult to use than others, but overall I believe they are fairly easy to understand. I remain fully available (081coco on Discord) for anyone who wants to dive deeper into certain building choices or set decisions.

I always enjoyed reading through these threads so I thought I should chime in with my favourite teams/sets from this season. Click on the icons for the paste.

:zapdos::snorlax::steelix::tyranitar::starmie::cloyster:
My take on a pretty classic 6. Ice beam on cloy is a nice twist to snipe eggy and zap (potentially taking advantage of zap trying to rest of a para) and with mie you are less reliant on cloy for the defensive water coverage. As a bonus you can also ice beam fish freeze vs tenta stalls. I considered thunder on mie to aid vs vappy while sniping greedy cloys and denying opposing starmie easy recovery but I figured t-wave was more consistent. This team wants to break offense with curse-eq lax and screech tar and with flame screech ttar + curse eq lax + lix should have the tools to get through stall.

:jynx::zapdos::forretress::golem::machamp::snorlax:
A slightly unusual take on jynx champ offense. Some of the sets are a little funny but i think it works out. ST thief jynx was a Conflict idea but its an intresting way to squeeze utlility out of the mon and open up a more offensive lax set. I think jynx lead stuff in this day and age likes forre as a partner to ease the dilemma of lead lax t1. The forre set is a little funny but giga helps pressure cloy for golem, and eases the MU into grounds like opposing golem or rhydon which the team appreciates. Watch out for spin forretress stall teams though, try to win before they figure out you don't have hp fire. If you really want to run fire over giga that team will be servicable. The team has lots of little anti offense techs and i figured with thief jynx + forre and lem booms + curse firelax + machamp I could handle most stalls. Beware opposing rock ground coverage, you will need to play agressively and proactively around it.

:cloyster::exeggutor::raikou::snorlax::vaporeon::golem:
This was a funny team, got a little carried away with it. Another Ice beam cloy for similar reasons, except that sniping eggy and zap is even more useful. Miracle to help vs the headache of lead nido. Sub bp hydro vap is a monster vs stall and curse eq kiss lax is a huge threat to offense, especially with para support. Stun leech eggy is a great thorn to offense and supports vap and the rest of the team. Def carried away cooking for the sake of it this week, but this team is very fun. Learn from my mistakes and don't click ib vs eggy t1 lol.

:gs/cloyster: + :gs/starmie: / :gs/vaporeon:
IB cloy + Second water
A fun tech for teams annoyed by zap and eggy. You reap the rewards of ib cloy without suffering the consequences as much vs stuff like ttar, while also having a non ghost out vs tenta stalls.

:gs/exeggutor:
Leech seed
Leech makes eggy even more annoying, and so much more of a pain to ST lax sets which is very appreciated. 3atk/status are good both good options to round out the set alongside psychic and boom. Sub or synth over boom are fun options on very select teams.

This season didn't go as I had hoped but I had a lot of fun and it was a great learning experience. Thanks to the Sharks for taking a chance on me and shoutouts to fakes, underlying, jester, conflict, elodin, vileman for the testgames throughout the season. Additional thanks to underlying fakes and jester for letting me bounce ideas off u, u guys are the best. It's also pretty cool to see the new faces of elodin and fakes in this tier, I hope y'all stick around.

Any of the remaining teams would be great champtions but I'm rooting for gorgie or underlying to get their first official dub, best of luck :)
