The Gen 9 series > Michielleus vs Separation is a VERY exciting match between the 2x Circuit champion and the best Gen 9 player in this Rbtt. JJ vs zS could easily happen in SPL but it's cool to see it in Rbtt. I assume Joey and SW played each other on the ladder before so that adds a new layer to a matchup that needs no introduction
Gen 6 Random Battle: JustOut459 vs Tom Bus > battle of the aussies, battle of two of the most dedicated tryharders of the Gen 6 ladder. Justin has the best record in the pool, Plop is positive too. As I always say, matches between people who know each other often lead to surprises and boneheaded plays so let's see if this is what's going to happen here (probably not because it's not really their playstyle)
Gen 4 Random Battle: mdill97 vs O1V7O2X9O > for the first time in an official tournament, we finally get Mdill vs Steven. The american has been playing well but he got Gen 4'd last week. You don't need me to learn that Steven has a comfortably positive record so hopefully we are in for a hard fought series
Gen 1 Random Battle: Kingslayer Caterpie vs Rowlet69420 > not too surprising given Alice's record, Rowlet got subbed in and makes his debut in Rbtt. I admit I only knew Kingslayer Caterpie by fame but props to them for going from 0-2 to 3-2. Rowlet can be quite chaotic so I am curious to see if this series is going to reflect that lol
Gen 9 BSS Factory: Slikkles vs IcyPenguin2 > I know it's the third week in a row that I put icy here but this one is different because not only it's about two friends battling each other, but they also train together from time to time. So yeah, may the best win :)

Gen 9 Random Battle (Bo5): GXE vs pokeblade101 > these two probably know each other better than their own family members at this point, given all the matches they have played on the ladder and in rands tournaments. However, it's probably the first time both of them are negative in Rbtt so I am sure this match will be approached with even more attention than usual
Gen 8 Random Battle: mj vs drowsy69 > "old" vs new! I said it already but I consider mj the best Gen 8 player, while Drowsy is the only real newcomer to this pool and he has been doing well in Wcor and in the first five weeks of Rbtt. It's true that he won against mj in Wcor 2025, but that was like the only tournament where the austrian went negative in the last two-three years. Very, very interesting match on paper
Gen 5 Random Battle: flameingpigey2 vs jyusaan > I don't know how rare it is to see a 0-5 vs 5-0 record and it's even more jarring that Pigey is winless. The friendship between these two will be put aside because Jyusaan could secure the best record in the pool in regular season, while Pigey obviously wants a win for himself and for the Meloettas, which are still racing for a playoff spot. Pigey's losing streak in Rbtt started in semis last year against Jyusaan himself. Is it going to end with the same opponent?
Gen 2 Random Battle: Shadows4 vs Flights of Fantsy > for two of the longest tenured members of this community, Gen 2 is definitely an unusual turf to see them battle against each other. Fantsy is on his redemption arc but Shadows is such an unorthodox opponent that making predictions here is not easy
Gen 9 Hackmons Cup: aerobee vs platinumCheesecake > The person with "Hackmons" in their nickname against Mr Hackmons Cup himself! Both are 3-2 so the winner will finish regular season with a positive record
Random Roulette: R1C3M4N vs livid washed > Along with Gen 9, Roulette is probably the other format which gives us the most hype matchups regularly. It's the Gen 2 Open champion against one of the most prominent Gen 2 players, but both have proved to be able to play pretty much everything. Definitely one of the highlights of the week

Gen 9 Random Battle: lichess vs Esteb4n > I am very curious to see Esteban's debut in Rbtt because we are talking about a guy who won two circuits last year. Lichess is coming from the Circuit Final and his season has been a bit of a rollercoaster so everything could happen
Gen 7 Random Battle: LordST vs emforbes > battle of the westies in Gen 7 Rands. Similarly to Plop vs Justin, Emilio took Lord's spot on the US West in Wcor because the latter couldn't play last year. Lord is basically an institution of this format in randbats but his season has been disappointing to say the least, including two substitutions. This time scheduling shouldn't be a problem so a fun matchup awaits us
Gen 6 Random Battle: Vioz vs Kaif > Vioz is 3-1 in a tough pool like Gen 6 which I am sure is a satisfying record for him. His opponent this week is... Kaif, who is surely good but I have never seen him play this rands format before so let's see how it goes! This was already played
Gen 3 Random Battle: xGang vs Jordy004 > Another series, another "fratricide". Teammates on team Benelux (now Netherlands) for many years, they have pretty much made history in rands. Speaking of which, Gang is easily rands history himself and he is guaranteed to finish yet another regular season with a positive record. Jordy is still looking for his first win in Rbtt but his offensive playstyle and the knowledge of his opponent could lead to a surprise upset
Gen 1 Random Battle: YBW vs Lady Writer > two of the veterans of the community and this format itself, they were probably expected to be on top of the pool before the season started. The expectations have been partially met because they have positive records so far... but one of them will go neutral after this clash
Gen 9 Hackmons Cup: Ivar57 vs Panty&Stockings > Boris was doing well in HC but it only seems right to see Panty play HC in Rbtt. Ivar is a tough opponent but the brazilian is currently top of the ladder so they should arrive to this match in top form
Random Roulette: LoSconosciuto vs Piyu > highlight match of the week even if in slightly minor tone due to the record of their teams. There is mutual respect between those two who, unsurprisingly, are currently sitting at 4-1 in Rbtt. I am especially hyped to see the formats that will be rolled (my preference is to see something in between like Gen 3-5 because I'd say those are the gens slightly outside their comfort zone)

Gen 8 Random Battle: teresbahji vs Master Chief > after a horror start, Teres has pulled his usual black magic to go positive. His opponent this week? The indian Master Chief, who I am fairly sure he played multiple times back when Gen 8 was the current gen. Same record, similar skill level for this Gen 8 battle. I guess the difference is that MC doesn't play on a broken phone...
Gen 7 Random Battle: ZDen vs Hairoll > fourth highlighted series between two players from the same Wcor team, even if this is the only case where they are from different countries. I am not surprised to see ZDen positive while Hairoll is defending himself well in his Rbtt debut. Winner becomes the starter in Wcor 2026?
Gen 4 Random Battle: Texas Cloverleaf vs Damm u captcha > at the end of this series, only one will remain undefeated in the Gen 4 pool. These two have completely different personalities so I am grabbing my popcorn and I'll look at the battle chat for sure
Gen 1 Random Battle: Maris Bonibell vs virae > third randbats act after their two series in Rbel. Virae's everlasting hatred for Gen 1 best of 3 might be justified if his future results are as good as they are right now. I am really curious to see how he approaches his opponent because he definitely wants to continue the positive season he is having and he wants to show he finally has Maris' number
The doubles series > after the draft, I considered these two as the strongest doubles cores in this Rbtt. If you love spectating doubles, it can't get any better than ionnss vs soTsoT. Sapphire and Freya have some of the worst sleep schedules I have ever seen but I bet they will be sharp and focused while playing each other

Gen 9 Hackmons Cup: Nudepantsman vs MultiAmmiratore > NPM against the person he probably fears the most in this pool. Are we going to see an incredible 5-1 record in Hackmons? Are we going to see a Chiori's masterclass? Are we going to see broken sets? I don't know about the first two, I have high hopes for the third one
