Doubles Derby IV

Format for the tour is as follows:
  • 6x8 (6 teams, 8 slots with 2 subs) with 2x SV DOU, 1x Natdex DOU, 1x Natdex DUbers, 1x SV DUU, 1x DPP DOU, 1x ADV DOU (which is Bo3), and 1x Draft Doubles.
  • The season will be a round robin format with an initial bye week for drafting, making it 6 weeks long, with the top 4 teams progressing to an elimination playoffs bracket.
  • A manager can selfbuy with a price determined by the following formula: [((max(10,000, last auction price) + 10,000 + (1,500 * all wins last Derby))/2) rounded up to the nearest .5k], but players appointed as a co after the draft can still play.
  • Retains are also allowed, with the retain price being the player's previous derby price + 3k.
  • Each team can have 2 of any combination of retains and self-buys, but no more.

Why should you be a Derby manager?:

Chris and I have been heavily integrated in the community for the last few years (Chris longer than I have) and believe we have the ability to provide a welcoming and dynamic team environment to Derby. As players we’ve both competed in various circuit tournaments and basically every single doubles team tournament in the last few years, with Chris also playing a lot of the larger Natdex team tournaments.

As for managing experience, we are currently co-managing 2v2PL (which we took as a derby warmup) and Chris managed team NE in Doubles World Cup last year to a 1st seed pools finish.

What Derby tiers do you have experience with?: SV DOU, NDDOU, NDDUbers, and we’ve kept up with DUU through teammates in derby and DPL

Why should you be a Derby manager?: Without making this part too long, I myself have gotten quite some manager experience over the last few years with tournaments as UMPL (3 times), 2v2PL (2 times) and ofcourse the highly prestigious, the one and only Doubles Derby!! (2 times). Throughout all those experiences ive always strived to create a team which has a good and enjoyable atmosphere while also being competitive, so far id say ive done that quite well. Madaraaaa recently managed his first tour, that being World Cup Italy and he has gotten the swing of things and wants to continue bringing his managing skill into Derby as well. As most of you know Madaraaaa is an increadibly versitile player, boasting a very high skill at a plethora of doubles tiers, which is just what you need for Derby. Both of us think we can create an increadible team, striking a balance between the already proven and experienced players and the less known but not less skilled newcomers that just havent had their spotlight yet. We are both very excited for this tournament and we hope we get the chance to shoot our shot at that!

What Derby tiers do you have experience with?: I have experience with Dou, Duu, DPP, ADV and while im not familiar with Natdex Dubers I am familiar with gen 7, 8 and 9 Dubers.
