Alpha Ruiners (0) vs (0) Indie Scooters
SV OU: lax vs DAHLI - v interested how DAHLI preps for lax
SV OU: fakenagol vs Pais
SV OU: ACR1 vs heileone
SV OU: sire clod vs Storm Zone

Team Raiders (0) vs (0) Congregation of the Classiest
SV OU: zS vs LB - it took me a while to figure out LB stood for longestbanana which I consider one of the greatest names on this site
SV OU: JJ09LIE vs Xrn
SV OU: tier vs Lazuli
SV OU: Ash KetchumGamer vs LpZ

Wi-Fi Wolfpack (0) vs (0) Circus Maximus Tigers
SV OU: Let's Rumble Shall We vs Ewin
SV OU: Fogbound Lake vs Cow
SV OU: Sacri' vs Kate
SV OU: bbeeaa vs Patatexv - I really appreciate that most of Patatex's brings have had crazy high average attacking stats

Cryonicles (0) vs (0) Dragonspiral Tyrants
SV OU: clean vs myjava - this is a good matchup but I just know the teams are gonna be extreme tryhard squads. Hat/Torn for clean and Zama/Oger for java
SV OU: watashi vs Baddy
SV OU: kDCA vs Fusien - I don't know if I'm bolding against Fusien for at least the next few weeks after he pulled that game out last week
SV OU: bhkg vs Axzel - this whole set is good matchups! Arguably the most cost-effective SVs on either team

Stark Sharks (0) vs (0) Ever Grande BIGS
SV OU: hellom vs Stareal
SV OU: Attribute vs Larry - I'm gonna be so honest I didn't know Larry played SV OU. Debuting against any member of the Sharks SV superteam was always gonna be tricky
SV OU: Plague vs JustFranco
SV OU: Nat vs Hiko

Dear reader, I fear I tire of the careful contemplation required to make sense of the weekly follies of the Smogon Premier League. There are only so many ways by which I can express my admiration of the immaculate roster composition borne by the Sharks of Stark Mountain (which sorts of Sharks, I may add, remain beyond our comprehension, though not our interpretation. Perhaps the whale Shark or the basking Shark? Certainly not the Mako Shark, nor the Tiger Shark, nor the violet River Shark, for such origins would inspire much confusion within the vast seas of the Smogon Premier League), and as such I elected to direct my energies towards instead identifying the one sense in which the Sharks of Stark are outliers of a more sinister sort, to an extent without peer in the whole of the Scarlet and Violet generation? If this piques your interest, let me weave you a yarn.

You see, ever since the first day that the Smogon Premier League's battlefields were first riddled with the luminous crystals of the Terastallization variety, a new era awoke with the glittering sun. An era of optimism, perhaps misplaced, given the children that now scurried across the plains of war with their trumpets and their bayonets and their newfangled offense builds. And as though to mark their territory, they record the spoils of their skirmishes to be shared with their peers, week by week, for praise and for mockery. None of this is new, of course; the act of soliciting validation via proclamation of victory has existed since time immemorial, although formal recognition of that clout was first introduced in the tomes approximately a decade ago.

Not all proclamations of victory meet equally enthralled ears. For some, like the Troller most Heroicke, the planting of the flag sends shockwaves across the land, with 274 shouts of "Amen" roaring over the battered body of Sir Charmflash in the great and terrible battle of the Tyrants and the Ruiners in the Fifteenth Premier League upon Smogon. Others herald the return of a valiant warrior to the fray; we can regard the Blaze-Kicking Rooster himself in such a light as he vanquished the crucifed to commence his campaign in the Great Sixteenth, recognized in the annals of history by 129. Others, however, are fated to be passed over in the memories of history. These are their stories.

Four proud warriors begin our list of those who never attained the clout they so desired, with a mere 12 admirers to each of their names. There is the Big-Hero-Knight-God, in a victory most multidimensional. There is Sir Michaelmas of Ancient Cloves and Peppercorns, in appropriate triumph over the Savoury Greek. There is the cleanly knight, the Gewash't, whose foe he rinsed and dried and dried again twenty-two-score-and-seventeen more times. And there is the Soulgazer, whose discerning eye was turned to the lax one whose armour he rent asunder. These heros may be obscure in the eyes of their peers, true! But fear not, we have more warriors to come, each more dismissed than the last. Each less anointed than the last. Those who beg for the crumbs of the Smogon commentariat who turn away, scorned.

Take the Earl of Brothenstock, whose oceanic quest in ever-increasing desperation for exotic spices ended in pyrrhic victory across the quagmire. Or the Green Knight of Greener Flame, his knife thrust in the heart of one Kaz Brekker. Or perhaps the embodiment of strife and conflict himself, whose struggle for validation lasted for centuries and would continue to last for centuries more. To each of their names, a mere 10 calls of affirmation. Mere whispers in the mead halls. The voices of kittens in a den of tigers, the restrained trotting of a Munchlax buried in the rumble of the Great Snorlax.

There are, however, three still to come. Three, who, in the four years since the Advent of the Eighteen-Hued-Crystal, recorded their victory to whimpers rather than roars. Those who came out of their week's skirmish alive, whether scathed or unscathed, and who were met not with hordes of adoring arms and lips, but with apathy. The forgotten ones, the ones least clouted in their successes. These are the bittersweet tales we share today.

In the fifth week of the fifteenth campaign, a mere 9 onlookers even noticed the total knockout on display. All that was ever confirmed of the battle was the region. The details of the battle? Met with a resounding shrug. Who would wish a fate on even their worst enemy? To be forgotten even in their victories? As this tale demonstrates, we on these plains do little but seek the validation of others. Perhaps it is pathetic to grovel for attention, to act the role of the court jester with increasing disregard for our own time and dignity. But is it not worse to do all of that and only receive the warm light of a mere 9 gazes?

And yet, our battles come in even less remarked-upon fashion. All this proud warrior left behind were apologies. To go to war for an army is one thing. It requires blood and flesh left on the battlefield. It requires sacrifice of mind and body. And to do all of that for a mere 7 voices of praise? It would be manageable enough to receive more praise than that for predicting the outcome of that battle than for fighting in it, and all the seer would expend is a bit of parchment. What do we do it all for?

It's time to bring this sordid tale to a close. Do you remember, reader, how I commenced this volume? By remarking upon the one manner in which the Sharks, Stark as they are, diminish themselves below all nine of their foes? You see, it is the eighth week of the fifteenth campaign. Scarcely anyone noticed that the greatest knight of them all, in his second iteration, vanquished a foe with no traits at all, save the compulsive need to draw attention to their own traits. It was a battle of swords and shields. A fierce battle! One lost, I fear, to the doldrums of the late campaign, both armies resigned to their fate. There would be no trophies to be had for either warrior, and with no trophies to be had, what hope did they have of capturing the attention of the Smogon colosseum gallery? Very little, it seems. 7 pairs of hands so much as hinted at their appreciation of this display. Fewer hands, even, than the number brought to their battle (which, I may remark, included multiple quadripeds, a bird, a sprite, and a ghost).

But you see, dear reader, the Sharks most Stark saw the valiant fighters in this clash and decided, them! Them! Them! They are the fine champions we need. For us, they will draw adoration. For us, they will bring their keen eyes and well-honed blades. This is only one data point, after all, to deem them the most poorly-clouted warriors in the Premier League. Surely they can do better for us. Attention is a distraction. If they can be forgotten, perhaps that bodes even more favourably for us. So what if we do not command the respect of the Smogon masses? So what if a battle on this stage only garned 7 rounds of applause? We do not seek the validation of the landlubbers, for we refine our tactics and our weapons beneath the waves. And perhaps it will be enough. Grant us 7 (seven) rounds of applause again! Grant us fewer! We will reign victorious with these forgotten warriors, these warriors forgotten most of all, anyway.
