Dragon Pulse provides strong neutral coverage against Water-resistant targets such as Lanturn and Venusaur. Aura Sphere hits Snorlax, Glastrier, and Magneton for heavy super effective damage, while Sludge Bomb hits Grass-types such as Whimsicott and Shaymin. Tera Dragon not only allows Clawitzer to resist common Electric- and Grass-type attacks aimed at it, but also boosts the power of Dragon Pulse to skull-crushing power, 2HKOing both Lanturn and Muk. Clawitzer fits best on balance teams, which appreciate its ability to soft-check Pokemon such as Glastrier and Charizard while outputting immense damage. Pivot Pokemon such as Mesprit and Passimian are great partners, as they can help bring Clawitzer in safely against Pokemon such as Spiritomb and Sandslash, which it can easily threaten out. While it has coverage to deal with common special walls, Clawitzer still appreciates Pokemon such as Regirock and Shaymin that can help check common special walls like Snorlax and Lanturn, respectively.
