Sword and Shield Champions League I
Hello, everyone! Welcome to the first iteration of Sword and Shield Champions League I. This tournament will have 8 teams, each with their own manager and upto two assistant managers. Managers will do a SPL-style auction on Pokemon Showdown!, where they will take turns nominating and bidding in an auction for players who signed up to assemble their teams with limited credits available. The teams will then play one another for 7 weeks, with a new opponent each week. This will culminate with a Playoffs week consisting of the Top 4 teams overall from the 7-week main season. This puts the estimated end of the tournament in late-May, so make sure you can be active until then if you wish to participate!

The following tiers will make up the 12 slots for each team in SSCL I:
  • SS OU x2
  • SS Ubers
  • SS UU
  • SS RU
  • SS NU
  • SS PU (suspect slot)*
  • SS ZU
  • SS LC
  • SS CAP
  • SS NDOU
  • BDSP OU
The SS PU suspect slot will be running with the following Pokemon unbanned:
  • Guzzlord
  • Araquanid
  • Virizion
  • Riachu-A
  • Espeon

Other details
- This tournament will be hosted by Zac, Yash Vortex, and Murphy Lawden.
- Team managers may elect (and are recommended) to have upto 2 co-managers.
- Teams must have a minimum of 14 players (12 starters and 2 substitutes).
- Each team has a 150,000 credits budget.
- ONLY 2 Managers may self-purchase prior to the auction, with the first purchase costing 15,000 credits and two costing 40,000.
- The auction will be held on Pokemon Showdown!
- The winning team of SSCL I will receive a Custom Avatar.

We shall start by selecting the team managers, which have important responsibilities such as drafting a team, submitting weekly lineups, and making sure their players are prepared and scheduling games. As mentioned above, managers are recommended to have a co-manager; you may decide on a co-manager after you have signed up, or if you cannot find a co-manager before the auction begins, you may select one from from the pool of players you draft. No joke signups or unrelated posts please—only post in this thread if you are serious about managing, and do so in the following format:

MANAGERS WILL BE SELECTED AROUND Sunday, March 8th, 2026, but may be chosen beforehand if we determine we have adequate signups. Good luck and have fun, everyone!

Team manager and co-manager: Wesleyy & LB Pokeslice
Team name: Clash Corviknights
Your accomplishments: I am of the most active managers at the time and lead my team through an undefeated regular season in SSPL, managed OUPL, BDPL, TEAMBALLO & countless oldgen tournaments like ADPL, RoAPL SMPL, ORASCL, BWPL, BWWC, DPPWC on top of lower tier tournaments like LCPL, LTWC & PUWC. As a manager LB has won ORASUG, made finals of ORASPL, is currently managing ORASCL & managed BDPL and as a player has played in spl, adpl, oupl, teamballo and our glorious SSPL team of last year. Pokeslice is a fantastic manager within the lower tiers making finals of both NUCL and NUPL in recent times and being succesful in the ones before that also managing and winning NUWC and managing LTWC and was on the winning SSPL team last year going 7-1. With his tier knowledge and manager experience he rounds up the manager trio perfectly
Why would you make a good manager?: Both of us know how to draft, lead & motivate a winning team. Both of us have experience as managers.

Team manager and co-manager (if applicable): purbaj and Miyoko
Team name: TBD

Your accomplishments:
As a manager, I’m coming off a recent win in the inaugural edition of the Sword and Shield League, where our team went undefeated throughout the entire season. I also won OUFL and have participated in SSPL as a player.
As for Miyoko, he has a lot of management experience, having won and managed several tours such as SMPL and BSSCL. He also won the most recent SSPL as a manager. Now we’re teaming up to win SSCL together!

Why would you make a good manager?
Both Miyoko and I are very active as managers and have a strong understanding of the SS playerbase. We’re confident in our ability to draft the best possible team, support our players throughout the tournament, and compete for the championship

Team name: Handsome Haxorus
Your accomplishments: I won SSFL as manager and player (Team went 7-0-0 iirc), managed masters league (playoffs), EPL (Finals), Puwc, retro cup, oras mushi, wcap etc... I've been around SS tiers for some years, going 3-1 in ndwc (SS). Also played SSPL and i'm qualed for this year sslt and i'm better than Ikaishi.

Everyone knows Ikaishi is 5-2 SPL being the 1st in the pool u can turn off the radio, ur tv and unsuscribe to daily newspaper and still someone will tell you that .(I'm very proud of my student) He has also been playing SS CAP for 3 years and managed wcop Mexico a couple of times + starting in SS there. Also he has good individual runs in seasonals and made it to Top 8 in Smogon masters 2025.

Bloshh has qualled to the last 2 sslt editions and he's in SS Slam quarterfinals, as manager he has lead team spain in PUWC, he's the PU goat.
Why would you make a good manager?: We're very hyped to manage this tour, we trust our player skills to advise and prepare our players to win the whole tournament, we have strong selfbuy options and a good knowledge of the player base across all the tiers
