Metagame STABmons Mix and Mega

Recently made this account just to say hey! Fun metagame! I'm enjoying how many play styles all feel viable!
While there are some clear stand out stones and pokemon, the metagame feels very diverse and I've been surprised by a number of clever mega's and movesets from opponents.

Recently been using a very offensive team on ladder, and with the highlight month ending I thought it could be fun to share it. :]

:iron-boulder: - :iron-moth: - :dragonite: - :eternatus: - :gholdengo: - :great-tusk:
:iron-boulder: :barbaracite:
Usual lead against most teams to set rocks up. Delaying the mega can be useful to survive fairy E-Speeds before firing back with some of your own priority to catch any greedy rapid spins. After that, tough claws CC can deal enormous damage to even resisted mons, and Boulder can be saved till later as a ho-oh check and to KO non-bulky ceruledge with accelrock after rocks chip.

:iron-moth: this one's stone --> :magearna-mega:
This thing is going to be a monster if Mega Delphox's new ability ever gets implemented.
General strong and fast special attacker, works great to wall out fairy E-Speeds as long as you don't switch in on an EQ or stone-attack.
Blue flare is the chosen fire move despite the accuracy because the power increase is so significant that it cant sometimes 2-hit KO resists after rocks chip. Energy Ball and Gleam are general coverage moves, but could be swapped for moves like Torch Song or Baneful Bunker or Burning Bulwark for the odd utility or use.

:Dragonite: :Altarianite:
Standard moveset, but Max HP is used to survive other non-altarianite E-speeds from other pokemon (besides Glalitite).
Inner focus is the given ability to prevent intimidates pre-mega evolution. Multiscale would be nice to potentially take an opposing e-speed once, but it's too unreliable without any hazard control on this team.

:Eternatus: :power-herb:
You know him, you either love or hate him, it's the Cosmic Entity. Standard offensive Eternatus set, but running power herb and meteor beam to one-shot Ho-oh's and boost general damage. Fire blast at +1 can 2 hit KO even hyper defensive steels. Can definitely throw some games due to FIre Blast and Meteor Beam's inaccuracy, but has singlehandedly won games due to its natural bulk allowing it to survive 1-2 Pixiliate or Aerilate e-speeds without difficulty.

:gholdengo: :diancite:
Mr. Money Bags being good in an OM? More news at six. Moon Ghiest and tachyon cutter give Dengo very consistent stab damage. After a +2 boost, most neutral targets die in one hit, and the ones that survive typically can't hit back hard enough to one shot. This mon sits on passive mons like corv, Blissey, and toxapex, using them as set-up fodder.
Delaying the mega can be seriously helpful to survive priority attacks before you fire back, and destiny bond has saved me for the same reasons, either denying sucker punch / other priority kills or taking down a key target that the rest of this team would struggle with.

:great tusk: :rusted-sword:
The anti-eleki mon. Shamelessly ripped from Nirvada2000's team. Acts as an anti-eleki mon that can additionally chunk a wide range of mons. All of its moves being contactmoves means it is weak to Beak Blasts from Corv, but if you successfully call a switch with a SS Slam, it can open the gates for Boulder or Dragonite late game to sweep.
Thank you leaders for a fun metagame! Thoroughly enjoy it :D

Just as a suggestion for others, can also try a Great Tusk with Heartflame Mask, which gains the Ground/Fire typing. It also works well as a counter to Regieleki with Altarianite (not the Regieleki with Pinsirite and Glalitite). It can ignore all Magearna with Levitate and cannot be burned. The downside is that mon loses to a Great Tusk with Rustle Sword in a 1v1 due to its lower Speed and doesn't hit as hard; it's also 4x weak to Water.
Some teams require it, especially if you don't have a fire type and you already have many steel types on the team.

Dropping my team since ladder is over. I sat within the top 10-15 most of the month with this, unfortunately didn't take a screenshot for proof. snm sand

:tyranitar:pretty standard set, spd wall/sand setter/pivot. Salt cure helps with the abundance of Chimechite/Levitate steels that this team struggles with sometimes. Rocks are hard to keep up some games, so don't throw away your Ttar just to get them up unless it's late game.

:magearna:another set we've all seen hundreds of times before, phys def investment pairs nicely with Ttar. If they have a threatening ground type, it's a pretty good idea to lead Mage so you don't get caught switching it in without Levitate. Don't forget that sand cuts Moonlight to 25% recovery, so play around that accordingly. Doom desire hits like a truck still despite minimal investment.

:landorus-therian:Here is where we get to the real stuff. PBlades/DAscent is a very strong stab combo that really only fears :corviknight:/levitate steels, hence the Gravity. U-turn is great for momentum. Shore Up and Smack Down are both alternates to Gravity, but the ability to click Pblades and blow things up multiple turns in a row is fantastic. Espeeders still do a significant amount of damage to Lando, so be careful. Also, don't be afraid to hold off on mega evolving to Intimidate pivot and hide your speed boost. You could definitely add more speed if you wanted, but the main threat >500 speed is :regieleki: who is most likely clicking priority on you anyways, so I opted for max HP.

:eternatus:is our spinner and checks some water/fighting types that threaten the team like :keldeo:. Flamethrower is included over dragon STAB to hit any steels that try to spinblock. Malignant is able to toxic walls and hit fairies like Alt :regieleki: for big damage. Max HP/max speed lets Etern outspeed many threats to clean up while maintaining its fantastic bulk.

:dragonite:Obligatory Espeeder. DD/Roost is able to get you out of some rough games. I was initially EQ over Fire Punch but I ran into one too many Chimechite user. I went Salamencite over Pinsirite to give extra bulk for DD/Roost setup.

:heatran:The other big breaker. 191 SpA Blue Flares are absolute nukes. The type change and speed boost catches so many people off guard as well. Sand Force boosts our Earth Powers occasionally, since most of the time you are clicking the 130 BP move, but its main purpose is to prevent sand chip. Heatran gets worn down by chip and rocks, so be cautious with its HP. The same goes for Lando, but Heatran is weak to rocks after evolving. Like Lando, hold off on revealing your mega until you need it, especially since you get -10 defense from Garchompite Z. Dragon Pulse does not get clicked that much, but is a solid 100 Acc STAB to hit non-ground weak mons that resist Blue Flare like :swampert: and :ho-oh: . Bulwark is great for scouting and burning physical attackers, a very valuable tool against Metagrossite :urshifu: and Altarianite :regieleki: to name specific examples.

Replays (some of these are from earlier in the month so the ratings are low but the first 3 are against people that also were high ladder):
vs Th3st0 Psy-surge, somehow I win after getting Lando burnt turn 1
84 turns vs BBP
Heatran clutch vs ClRCUS MAXIMUS webs
including a loss replay, just because (86 turns vs fat team)

Watch out for:
:rhyperior: (/Chimechite in general) is the reason for multiple changes I made to this team, including Flamethrower Etern, Salt Cure Ttar, Gravity Lando, Fire Punch Dnite, and Heatran in general (I was testing a terrible Tera Starstorm/Rev Dance Garchompite Z Pory-Z beforehand). Generally you have an answer to most Chimechite walls, but it's still something you have to plan your gameplay around with this team.
:blissey:+ a Phys wall that handle Lando is rough. I don't think Blissey/Transform is bannable or anything but it is just really annoying. You have to make a lot of hard reads vs these teams, which can pretty easily get you punished since they likely have an easier time winning the hazard war, so your breakers are being worn down throughout the game. You can see a positive example of this above in the BBP replay and a negative example in the L replay.
:arcanine-hisui:/:entei: fairy/fire is a little difficult to handle, usually you can wait to mega Lando + Heatran here to weaken with Intim before coming in with Heatran who is immune to fire and 4x resists fairy pre-mega. Full health Etern wins the 1v1 a well but can get worn down over time. They still are able to disrupt a Lando sweep
:regieleki: is in a similar boat to above, surprising it with a sudden electric resist on :heatran: is a pretty decent way to get rid of it, as well as Etern like the other pixie-speeders. Lando still takes a lot from Pixilate Espeed from this guy so be wary.
:keldeo:/:urshifu-rapid-strike:/:blue-orb: Eternatus can be overwhelmed by hazards and chip if their team has multiple attackers that require it to check them. Ttar can often tank a stray water special move if sand is up, so Blue Orb can throw a wrench in some of your defensive pivoting. Most of the time you can get Dnite in and force them out or kill with Espeed.
:gholdengo: , particularly Diancite but also Latiasite, is threatening if you let it get a NP, especially if you lost Lando

Eternatus can counter both Keldeo/Urshifu with Rocky Helmer special defense. Although certain Urshifu can counter with Ice Spinner.

ISpin Ursh usually only trades thanks to Rocky Helmet. Skewda has basically made Helmet Etern kinda awkward though, but still worth actually mentioning.

Yeah I was Helmet before going Sludge to offset sand chip, Helmet is definitely still a valid option though. I like Etern’s speed tier which is why I’m max speed over a defense, but I’m sure there’s a more optimized EV spread to help with those two as well as staying fast, I just haven’t looked into it.
