Project Unluckiest Player of the Week (Week 15, see Post #321)

Sorry for the delay!
Today's UPOW winner is R1C3M4N!

Amoonguss was shaping up to be the indisputable MVP of this game, spore-ing and taking hits left and right - that is, until Greninja got that one faithful crit, knocking out the shroom and powering up with battle bond to absolutely bowl over his team. That's not the whole story though, because even with that boost Greninja needed to land a second crit AND a flinch with dark pulse to truly turn the tides of battle. Had any of these not happened, R1C3M4N would have had this game in the bag for sure! Misfortune like that is worth a UPOW win every day of the week.

We'd also be remiss to not mention RSB's entry, where he managed to flip the sacred fire coin eight times with no burns! He won this game, so it ended up being more happenstance than bad luck however, so this stays an honorable mention rather than a true winner. Unlucky in its own way, Ironically!

The 14th Cycle of UPOW will end on the 15th of March.

Couldn't you say that's even worse luck just to get an honorable mention and not the win

Their replay doesn't exist so clearly that means I win by default.

If I had a nickel for every time I've lost more coinflips in a row than I statistically should have I'd have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but its weird its happened twice.

Turn 26, first of 6 hypnosis misses into a 5 turn sleep. 0.046656 chance which isn't as bad as last time but still quite unlikely to miss 6 coin flips in your favor in a row.

In this replay, which is probably the unluckiest I have been in months, you will find, in this order:
- 2 paralysis in a row on Drapion
- 1 Stone Edge miss from Dugtrio (not really important)
- Paralysis on Solrock followed by Explosion into a ghost type
- 1 decisive crit on Seviper, which dies to Life Orb recoil
- Thunderbolt paralysis against Jumpluff into critical hit
Enjoy my mysery!
