Trying another idea, this being a mad scientist helmeted hornbill whose beak functions like a heat ray/blaster thing.

The entire head is a beak, which is built to withstand attacks before releasing the blast.

Pretty random sketches, still gotta work on “Pokémonifying” the design in general…
