The 'ignore opponents' button does not ignore gstaff. While I can understand why this was implemented, sometimes gstaff post obnoxious, distracting messages in tour games which cannot be ignored. Rather than resorting to having to tell staff to stop talking since I think they should still be allowed to participate in game discussion, I'd much rather the ignore spectators be all encompassing, regardless of rank. Thanks.

maybe to prevent communication issues gstaff could have an info message pop up when they chat in the battle while either player has ignore spectators

To be honest I don't know why staff would need to get a user's attention in battle. Private messages is just as effective, since staff bypasses the /blockpms command. If gstaff really needs to ping someone in a battle and bypass the battler's ignore spectators, then I think the better option would be to give them a command that does so (which I think is what you're saying here?)

This is not feasible, ignore spectators is a client-side toggle.

Command is infeasible for the same reason as above.

In general, this is a no. There's a reason you're not allowed to ignore staff - there's a variety of moderation reasons they may need to get your attention, the simplest of which is that punishments are less effective when you cannot see why they were given. Rejecting this.
