Tournament NDUPL I - Manager Signups

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the first iteration of National Dex Ubers Premier League. This tournament will have 6 teams, each with their own manager and assistant manager. Managers will do a SPL-style auction on Pokemon Showdown!, where they will take turns nominating and bidding in an auction for players who signed up to assemble their teams with limited credits available. The teams will then play one another for 5 weeks, with a new opponent each week. This will culminate with a Playoffs week consisting of the Top 4 teams overall from the 5-week main season. This puts the estimated end of the tournament in early to mid-May, so make sure you can be active until then if you wish to participate!

The following tiers will make up the 6 slots for each team in :

• SV ND Ubers
• SV ND Ubers (Best of 3)
• SV ND Ubers UU
• SV ND Ubers Doubles
• SV ND Ubers Draft

Other details
- This tournament will be hosted by Murphy Lawden.
- Team managers may elect (and are recommended) to have a co-manager.
- Teams must have a minimum of 8 players (6 starters and 2 substitutes).
- Each team has a 90,000 credits budget.
- BOTH Managers may self-purchase prior to the auction, with the first purchase costing 10,000 credits and the second purchase costing 12,500.
- The auction will be held in National Dex Events on Pokemon Showdown!


We shall start by selecting the team managers, which have important responsibilities such as drafting a team, submitting weekly lineups, and making sure their players are prepared and scheduling games. As mentioned above, managers are recommended to have a co-manager; you may decide on a co-manager after you have signed up, or if you cannot find a co-manager before the auction begins, you may select one from from the pool of players you draft. The manager selection process is mostly subjective. The hosts (me) alongside the rest of the moderation team will select the managers we feel are most strongly suited for the tournament. No joke signups or unrelated posts. Furthermore, any users banned from National Dex or National Dex Ubers discord cannot manage in this tournament. i made top 8 ndubers circuit, retired uubers council member and won open + ndampl as manager and uubers starter. i also have managing experience from sdpl where i made playoffs twice in a row and made finals tiebreak as well as rcop us west, ive also played in like 50 teamtours or something.

spacespeakers was an ndubers circuit finalist and has managed many tours including istt, wcop, and rcop.

Your accomplishments: Collectively me and Jumpheart have interacted with a lot of high quality teamtours. I'm currently in AGWL and won OMPL and UMPL as a player in the same year, and have also managed in NDWC, NDPL, NDCL, and the recently won Ubers UU PL. Jumpheart is a regular in the Natdex Ubers community and succesfully managed Solomods PL to finals 3x.
Why would you make a good manager?: I've made it my commitment to invest entirely in all aspects of ubers in particular and also have more baseline experience as a manager than most of the signups pool when it comes to drafting and facilitating a positive team environment. Our goal will be to not only ensure that everyone on our team is satisfied with their intended accomplishments, but can also find a way to express enjoyment in their respective tiers in a way that is both succesful and innovative for others to watch. To this extent, as a managing pair our strengths will mainly consist of having a flexible approach to supporting the people we draft as well as being proactive in ensuring all teambuilding needs are met to the fullest throughout the tour.

Xurkiyee is former ND Ubers UU council and gets good placements in both ND Ubers UU and ND Ubers tours. Xurkiyee just won NatDex CL as manager. I have managed several teams in the NatDex section and won SSNDPL and NDOTSL I as manager.

Team name: Broken Sunrazers

Your accomplishments: I'm Nat Dex Ubers council and have regularly played this tier for the past six months or so, going 5-2 in NDPL V and 5-0 in NDCL I. Anchor also played and won a week in NDPL V, and was excellent support in rest of the weeks. Both of us are also active in the Nat Dex Ubers server and have a good grasp of the tiers.

Why would you make a good manager?: We have a lot of commitment to this tier and I have prior managing experience, in addition to our general interest in this tier. We will do our best to have an enjoyable experience for all our players and give them all the support they need.

Accomplishment: I'm the most successful player in NDUB individual tournaments, winning three of the most recent important individual tours. I'm also famous for using underrated mons/sets in this tier and making them work. I played last year's NDPL with a record of 4-3. Kafkafka got the 3rd place in Summer Seasonal and made the playoffs for last year's circuit championships. He is an experienced manager on Smogon, having managed ADVWC (PO), DPPWC (champ), PUWC (2nd), UWC (2nd), WCAP (PO), NDFL, ISTT, CNPL (ing), RUPL(ing), UMCL (ing).
Why would you make a good manager? We are both good competitively and have a strong commitment to this tier. We are good at English and active on Discord. Kafka is good at managing, and I want to start my management career with my best tier. We will be responsible and try our best to create a good team environment and give each team member proper support. Also, we have some friends familiar with those non-main tiers in this tour.

Your accomplishments: I am active in the NDUB community, have managed NDPL and NDFL, and have participated in NDBD, SSNDPL, NDCL , etc. I am familiar with the player community and tier, and have sufficient experience. Xinnobu is an active player, also active in the NDUB community, and has won NDPL and NDCL, demonstrating passion and understanding for tier.
Why would you make a good manager? : We are familiar with the tour process, tier, and player community, and have sufficient management experience and confidence to build an active team and actively participate.

Team name: Malevolent Spectres

Your accomplishments:
Entrocefalo is the tier leader, with enough experience in tours by being both an SCL + SPL player, as well as managing many other tours. He has also managed in previous editions of NDPL. For individuals, he recently won the ND Ubers Last Chance and made it into circuit.
I am rather newer into the managing scene, with managing the recent NDCL and ghost managing the previous NDWC.
Both of us are regulars in the community and know it very well.

Why would you make a good manager?:
We are dedicated in managing and have a lot of interest in the tier as well as the tournament. We are ready to make a supportive atmosphere for our players and provide them with all the aid they need. Additionally, we know the pool well enough.
