[SET COMMENTS]
Hatterene serves an essential role on Psychic teams thanks to its solid natural bulk, Fairy secondary typing, and Magic Bounce ability it serves as great setup win condition with Calm Mind while also being Psychic's main way of checking Dark-types and Hazard setters such as Roaring Moon, Ting-Lu, and Skarmory. Psyshock puts pressure onto special walls and opposing Calm Mind threats attempting to deal with Hatterene such as Blissey Raging Bolt, and Primarina. Draining Kiss provides recovering for Hatterene while also handling Dark- and Dragon-type threats like Hisuian Samurott, Meowscarada, and Dragonite. Finally Nuzzle provides vital speed control for Hatterene's teammates such as Latios and Hoopa-U enabling them to outspeed threats such as the Ogerpon formes and Tornadus-T. Alternatively Mystical Fire can allow Hatterene to threaten Steel-types such as Iron Treads and Corviknight. Hatterene's EV spread enables it to outspeed Toxapex allowing Hatterene to threaten with Psyshock before it can use Haze while maximizing its bulk.

With Hatterene's issues into Steel-types, teammates such as Slowbro and Metagross provide great complements with both being able to come in on Steel-type attacks from Archaludon, Hisuian Goodra, and Empoleon and threaten them back with Body Press and Earthquake respectively. Slowbro can also serve as a complementary physical wall capable of handling Fire- and Water-types that can overwhelm Hatterene such as Cinderace, Heatran, and Barraskewda. Metagross meanwhile can help take on Rock-, Poison-, and Fairy-type threats like Ogerpon-C, Galarian Slowking, and opposing Hatterene along with using Bullet Punch to pick off faster foes such as Flutter Mane and Kleavor. Metagross can also set Stealth Rock to help weardown checks such as Scizor and Corviknight. Choice Specs Latios serves as a great offensive partner thanks to a helpful Ground immunity enabling it to come in on threats such as Gliscor and the Landorus formes and threaten them with powerful Ice Beams. Futhermore, Latios can support Hatterene with Draco Meteor to break through Dragon-types Hatterene struggles against such as Kyurem and Thunderbolt to handle Flying- and Water-types such as Corviknight and Dondozo. Choice Scarf Iron Boulder can outspeed and check threats for Hatterene like Volcarona and Ogerpon-H and use coverage options like Close Combat to nail Dark-types Hatterene cannot handle such as Greninja and Nasty Plot Darkrai. Assault Vest Hoopa-U is capable of coming in on Ghost-types such as Flutter Mane and Gholdengo and checking them with Knock Off and can use Focus Blast to threaten Steel-types like Heatran and Archaludon. Choice Scarf Indeedee-M provides a helpful Ghost immunity alongside Healing Wish enabling Hatterene to come back to full if required. Indeedee-M's Psychic Terrain also shuts down Scizor's Bullet Punch enabling Mystical Fire Hatterene to check Scizor which it otherwise cannot.
