Project SV OU - Victim of the Week

Check

:SV/Darkrai:
Darkrai @ Life Orb
Ability: Bad Dreams
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast

Unintuitive, I know, but this Darkrai does outspeed and guaranteed OHKO with Ice Beam. Enamorus cannot shed that weakness to Ice with Tera Ground (or Tera Stellar).

:Darkrai:
252 SpA Life Orb Darkrai Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Enamorus: 317-374 (109.6 - 129.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

:enamorus:
252 SpA Choice Specs Enamorus Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Darkrai: 522-614 (185.7 - 218.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Check:

Deoxys-Speed @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Psycho Boost
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

Life Orb Psycho Boost goes brrr.
:deoxys-speed: 252+ SpA Life Orb Deoxys-Speed Psycho Boost vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Enamorus: 317-374 (109.6 - 129.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Counter:
:sv/alomomola:
Alomomola (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Scald
- Mirror Coat
- Body Slam

Moonblast doesn't 2HKO AV Alo, and neither does Tera Stellar Tera Blast, nor does Tera Stellar Moonblast, so you can just Mirror Coat Enam the next turn. They could use Superpower to possibly outmuscle Alo, but Scald/Body Slam para makes it unlikely. If you get really unlucky with status though, just tera Ghost.
:enamorus: 252 SpA Choice Specs Enamorus Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Alomomola: 183-216 (34.3 - 40.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
:enamorus: 252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Stellar Enamorus Moonblast over 2 turns vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Alomomola: 427-504 (80.1 - 94.5%) -- not a KO
:enamorus: 252 SpA Choice Specs Contrary Tera Stellar (First Use) Enamorus Tera Blast (100 BP) over 2 turns vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Alomomola: 346-407 (64.9 - 76.3%) -- not a KO
:enamorus: Enamorus Superpower vs. Tera Ghost Alomomola: 0-0 (0 - 0%) -- possibly the worst move ever
:alomomola: 0 SpA Alomomola Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Enamorus: 51-61 (17.6 - 21.1%) -- possible 5HKO
:alomomola: 0 Atk Alomomola Body Slam vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Enamorus: 65-77 (22.4 - 26.6%) -- 23.1% chance to 4HKO

Check
Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 148 Def / 96 SpD / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Roar

By virtue of its typing that resists everything Enamorus does, Moltres can survive pretty much anything and 2HKO back with Flamethrower.
However, the Enamorus set given does have Stellar TB slashed, which can overpower Moltres, so it's a check rather than a counter.

Counter
Blissey @ Leftovers / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk
Tera Type: Fairy / Poison
Calm Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Calm Mind
- Seismic Toss
- Flamethrower

Enamorous techs Superpower to 2HKO Blissey, but it doesn't actually beat Blissey if Blissey still has Tera. Blissey can switch into Superpower, Tera and dodge the 2HKO, heal up, and take nothing from Enamorus for the rest of the game, even PP stalling Superpower. Seismic Toss is a 3HKO.
The Tera Stellar variant is obviously walled and has its boosts matched with Calm Mind.

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 140 HP / 252 SpA / 116 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
It lives everything that enamourous could click, even +1 tera stellar tera blast while being immune to both mystical fire and earth power with the air balloon and threatens to ohko back with flash cannon or magma storm.

Calcs:
0 Atk Enamorus Superpower vs. 140 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 186-220 (51.9 - 61.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Ground Enamorus Moonblast vs. 140 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 57-67 (15.9 - 18.7%) -- possible 6HKO
+1 252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Stellar (First Use) Enamorus Tera Blast (100 BP) vs. 140 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 287-338 (80.1 - 94.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Heatran Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Enamorus: 386-456 (133.5 - 157.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Heatran Magma Storm vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Tera Ground Enamorus: 241-285 (83.3 - 98.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after trapping damage
(I know i'm a bit late but hopefully this still counts)

Voting starts now. I invalidated Clodsire and Moltres since they outright lose their 1v1s to Enamorus although Moltres only loses if Enamorus is Tera Stellar, but given the definition of what a check is in the OP, Moltres is also invalid. Heatran is I guess valid since it walls Enamorus if it Teras into the Ground-type and can one-shot before being KOed by Tera Stellar Enamorus.

The possible choices are:

Checks
:Life_Orb: :darkrai: by Lectrys
:Life_Orb: :deoxys-speed: by Hittite Jumpscare
:air_balloon: :heatran: by bonsly brian

Counters
:assault vest::alomomola: by Hittite Jumpscare
:blissey: by escarlata

You may select up to one Check and one Counter.
The voting ends Sunday, March 8th at 11:59PM EST.

This week’s victim is one that has been overshadowed by other Pokémon that perform its role better, such as Dragapult, Kyurem, and Raging Bolt. However, it has recently been brought into the spotlight by Storm Zone, who made a RMT featuring it. I am, of course, talking about Hydreigon and its recent rise.
:sv/hydreigon:
Hydreigon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power

With its high base 125 Special Attack stat and Choice Specs equipped, it can deal ludicrous amounts of damage when combined with the high base power of its STAB Draco Meteor. Flash Cannon is used to hit Fairy-types that hope to find a free entry on its Dragon-type attacks.
Tera Steel is a great fit, not only boosting the power of Flash Cannon, but also pairing nicely with Levitate, removing Steel’s Ground weakness and allowing it to wall threats such as non–Close Combat Great Tusk or many Dragonite variants. Earth Power hits Steel-types that try to wall Hydreigon’s Dragon- and Steel-type moves.

Do you have what it takes to slay this three-headed dragon?

Check:
:iron_valiant:

Iron Valiant @ Choice Specs
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Psyshock
- Aura Sphere

Iron Valiant can pivot comfortably into both of Hydreigon's STABs and threaten it with a powerful Moonblast, while also having Aura Sphere as a middle ground against Tera Steel. However, it's a check because it dies to Flash Cannon on the switch so it's kind of prediction reliant

Counter:
:blissey:

Blissey @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
Tera Type: Fairy / Dark
EVs: 8 HP / 252 Def / 248 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Alluring Voice
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled

This is a lazy one, but Blissey can use Hydreigon as setup fodder and threaten huge damage if not a OHKO with Alluring Voice, and it has the recovery plus the SpD boost from Calm Mind to beat it reliably, even with Tera Steel

:SV/Zamazenta:
Zamazenta @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Heavy Slam

Tera Steel isn't letting Hydreigon escape a weakness to Fighting.

:Zamazenta:
252 Atk Zamazenta Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon: 408-480 (125.5 - 147.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

:Hydreigon:
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zamazenta: 273-322 (84 - 99%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Mirror Armor
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Body Press
- U-turn
- Roost
- Defog

Wait, whaddya mean this isn't Ubers? Yeah, this is the Ubers SpDef Corv set with the moves adjusted, but I'm feeling kinda stretched for counters once Blissey is taken and Chansey therefore doesn't look so attractive, OK?

:Hydreigon:
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Corviknight: 153-181 (38.3 - 45.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Corviknight: 123-146 (30.8 - 36.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

:Corviknight:
8 Def Corviknight Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon: 134-158 (41.2 - 48.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

:sv/primarina:

Primarina @ Assault Vest
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Tera Type: Steel
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Psychic Noise
- Surf
- Flip Turn

Primarina is a check. As a Fairy-type, it resists both of Hydreigon's STABs, and its Water type gives it a neutrality to Flash Cannon, allowing it to avoid the 2HKO. In return, Primarina can threaten an OHKO with Moonblast, while also having Surf as a midground option against Tera Steel. It can also use Flip Turn to pivot on a predicted switch.

Tera Steel is chosen here to maintain a resistance to Draco Meteor in the event that Primarina has to Terastallize.
