Introduction:
So first of all please forgive my english. So hey guys I'm Miya. Some of you who play me on the ladder may know me as noonelessbased and I've been playing pokemon competitively since SS. I had lots of fun but I was also a 1200s main up until a little while ago when they added this Pokémon called kingambit in the new scarlet and violet games, which enabled me to gain +750 elo. Let me tell you about kingambit cause this guy is the goat. He's the strongest Pokémon there ever was, so strong that the elephant in the room became number one in usage just so gambit could be addressed
but it still wasn't enough and kingambit is still the goat!
And so I decided to make a team to fully take advantage of how much he can muscle through teams in the endgame. Especially in this current meta I have played a lot of mono bootless teams and just offense maxxing, it becomes even easier to chip stuff into range for gambit!
The only thing holding it back was it's speed, because everyone prepares for sucker punch these days, right? Who doesn't? You would be silly not to! so I decided to combine him with this other guy with an equally high attack stat called hoopa unbound. Now hoopa unbound is a really cool guy because he has 170 attack and 160 special attack, meaning it's really difficult to wall him if you run mixed, specifically the set I had been thinking about was min speed bulky mono trick room with a life orb, to not only act as a threat itself, but also, crucially, enable kingambit to come in right after and take advantage of the remaining trick room turns. Now thats what I would call being a real team player, thanks hoopa. and that is what formed the basis for the rest of this team! I was waiting to finish my OST run, which happened last week to a great guy DonSalvatore in top 64, who I would like to think I can call a buddy after our fun and intense set! I hope he'll go far! But anyway let's dive right into this RMT my bros.

Proof of peak:
I wanted to try and get top 10 (I choked all 3 of the t10 games haha) but I have a lot of assignments and exams coming up at school soon. So I decided to just post the team now haha. I hope this is good enough!
Building process:
Poopa Unwiped (Hoopa-Unbound) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magician
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 180 Def / 76 SpA
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Drain Punch
- Hyperspace Fury
- Psychic Noise
- Trick Room
Hoopa is a handsome fella and I'm really appreciative that we have such a hard working Pokémon available to us this generation. I hope he'll go on to do great things in the future! Hoopa's main job is setting up trick room and then attacking until he dies so gambit can come in, as mentioned before. You'll often also find opportunities to bring samu in after as well into fast, offensive teams since you're only 222 speed on it.
The bulk enables you to live things like
hlr and
ivy cudgel after rocks (
is a 75% live roll). The special attack investment allows you to ohko max hp
after you reveal drain punch to bait them in after you ohko the initial gambit on the switch like a boss, 2hko max hp
and
with psychic noise, always kill any scor with a psynoise + hyperspace combo, and give a strong roll to ohko AOA
and you naturally live a cc or +1 press after rocks as well. Tera fairy is mainly to help you get off the trick room by flipping the type matchup and also to trade into gambit under tr. I guess you could call it a double whammy tera, heh...
You can also find opportunities to set up pre tera on
(did you know hyperspace goes through substitute as well as protect? I didn't),
after rocks (you are favoured to live any attack if they aren't set up yet) and lead
or
.
This guy actually has no switch ins and feels like ursaluna except he's easier to predict with.
Optional changes: If you want to forgo TR entirely, which is kind of soft, you can also go AV hoopa with gunk or tbolt last, reducing predictability and sofetning problematic matchups.

Necrodancer (Kingambit) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe
Adamat Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Iron Head
There is not much to understand about this set. Iron head over low kick was preferred because of all the tera fairy you will force when you reveal trick room. The 161 speed tier is to creep base 60 fairies (
, fat
, and no speed
which is admittedly less common these days, but this is why we have lum) as well as
to dodge t-wave (I hate this move!)
Optional changes: On the tera dark version, you will notice the speed tier is to hit 120, which enables you to hit whatever comes in after the
flip turn when you're against pivot slop teams but also still be faster than
outside trick room. I am really a fan of watching alomomola players confused and upset when they realise clicking wish + flip turn and going into choice specs mon #2 isn't an auto win Vs this team, and they actually need to use their brain to decide who is getting sacked to the kowtow cleave (pivot slop players don't have a brain)!
Optional changes: On the tera dark version, you will notice the speed tier is to hit 120, which enables you to hit whatever comes in after the
Central Sea (Samurott-Hisui) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sharpness
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 240 HP / 112 Atk / 92 SpD / 64 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Knock Off
- Sacred Sword
- Aqua Cutter
Because I needed to preserve hp on my dark types to get the set up opportunities, I added this guy to act as a switch into shadow balls from
MIRs from
, opposing
, and
(you live pulse into blast after rocks) allowing you to trade into things that really annoy the team. You can also trade into
, living even a specs freeze dry after rocks, and 2hkoing it with sacred sword into sucker, unless it's the sub hp invest lefties set, which is less of a threat with
being able to hit through sub/protect and trick room for free on it anyway!
Ok will be honest the spread on this guy is 222 speed for adamant
but the rest is just an old spread I believe made by CTC (correct me if you made this spread and I will edit this!) that I spam on every samu, but it lives everything and ohkos everything back as well. Sacred is there over flip or triple dark moves to get the ohko on a greedy
, opposing
who you don't really switch into, or to be preserved for an endgame opposing
if they've used tera (you live non tera +2 sucker always after rocks, even if they are black glasses).
Optional changes: sucker over knock is much better into offense, allowing you to chip enam into endgame gambit sucker range at +0, for example (and I prefer it right now) however it is very fishy because you make your only knocker valiant, meaning you can't set it up for an endgame SD sweep if you need to knock helmets or boots off beforehand. Samu is an excellent knock user into more balanced teams, since it baits in corv, bold zap, and alo a lot, giving SD Val/gambit an easier time in the endgame.

Jon Stones (Landorus-Therian) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- U-turn
Landorus therian... still doing the same thing as he was back in the day but now with a poverty movepool. This is probably the most standard set you could run on him, but it's still very strong. You usually want to assess whether or not you need to preserve hp, and if you don't, trade into a
or
to get it low for
or
or
and spam taunt into defoggers like
and
and recovery mons like wish
to keep your progress. Those who are especially clever and special and intelligent among us will have noticed that the he has earthquake on the cm valiant team variant. This is mainly because on the SD variant, we want to supplement the Zama matchup and put less pressure on pech to be the only one who can deal with Zama pre-tera, and in the CM Val matchup, we can put more pressure on things like Lu to get it in range faster.
HYGWT farting shot (Pecharunt) @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Poison Puppeteer
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Malignant Chain
- Tera Blast
- Nasty Plot
This set has 2 main jobs. The first is to weaken ground types like
(you don't need to tera, just get the poison)
assuming you are defensive, and
to enable the rest of the team. The second is to spinblock because, for those who are especially observant, you'll notice that we have a lot of hazards on this team to chip things down. I have found that into
or
matchups, you often want to lead this guy to force progress, and because you are gonna need to switch him in anyway if you don't lead him and they decide to lead the grass guy haha.
Optional changes: if you are really struggling with coming in on things like
, you can make this a max hp + lefites set with recover as well, but I would still recommend keeping max speed to chip tusk (also in the case of dropping tera blast, you can also change from tera fight to supplement the matchups you're having issues with!)
Optional changes: if you are really struggling with coming in on things like
Clank Winatra (Iron Valiant) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
Ok this guy has 2 very different options on this team. I think this SD one is better than CM after testing because of how well it helps to overload physical threats such as
and also burn
and even
abilities early, allowing you to clean very easily after popping a trick room with half the team dead. Tera steel is mainly to help you get the double setup on
or
as they come in as the one time scout (you will ohko pech after rocks at +4). However, if you're shiest you can cc into them if you know they are foul play pech/twave gking, as opponents often tera on those turns, I found (you can see it in a few replays below)
For the cm set, I was tera ghost shadow ball originally since
and
were everywhere, but t-wave tera
, AV
and tera
were quite annoying to break through in recent weeks, so tera electric has been performing better, especially with the pickup in fairy dnite I've been experiencing recently, meaning I have less fear of espeed! This val set is definitely the most variable depending on the meta though.
Optional changes: An older version of the team had tera psychic zen headbutt though, which allows you to kill
,
at +2,
, flip the
matchup if it's chipped a little, and OHKO AOA
at +1 def, or live any hit and 2hko defensive iron press zama. Just remember to cc on their tera dark/steel/fire after you reveal zen. However, it was a little fishy, and after testing I've gotten the best results with the current set. But again, you can tailor this val to beat any specific threat that you want, since it isn't integral to the core game plan, and more of a secondary win path
For the cm set, I was tera ghost shadow ball originally since
Optional changes: An older version of the team had tera psychic zen headbutt though, which allows you to kill
Threats:
You may notice that the team has no switch in to this Pokémon. With no dragons, no woger of our own, and everyone getting 2hkod by tera cudgel whilst all being slower! The main way I navigate these matchups is trying to limit woger coming in and leading with pecharunt. I actually don't think I've lost to a woger cooking me yet just because of how much pressure you apply with these 6.
You also have a high roll to kill with tera dark sucker after only 2 dead or samu sucker chip, so this is an option as well if you use that variant.
Ok there aren't actually any real fairy resists on this team and 3 dark types, which is why we have shuca pech to trade into enam and tera poison samu in a pinch. Make sure you preserve something for a valiant in the back because if you don't you'll probably get fried, since your only speed control is sucker + your own val!
We all know how strong this guy is, and because this team is very minimal in terms of backbone, it is especially weak to setup variants, particularly tera fairy covert bulky roost sets, which I am seeing everywhere right now. Your main options into this are calling the set based on team comp and revealed info, and getting the

Stall can be very annoying to break because of

With the cm val team, your best plan into stall is trying to pick off scor with hoopa (they love going scor to absorb potential knock) and then spam hyperspace to break holes (especially into

Conclusion:
I think this team is quite cool because here's the thing: if you don't like a certain set or want to tailor to beat a certain matchup, or if the meta develops in a different direction, all the guys here are basically Ubers and not locked into one role, so you can just change around some of the moves and you'll still be good to go
You could think of this team as a template upon which you can add your own creative and personal touches!
I didn't think I would ever make an rmt, because getting nearly 2k elo and top 10 on the ladder seemed impossible almost a year ago when I was struggling against all eveelution teams haha. I am still a while away from my next goal of winning OST, but I would like to give a shout-out to my good buddy Storm Zone who has been a massive part of my improved playing and building over the past year. His advice and meta insight has been better than any coach and he unquestionably is the goat of the ladder.
Anyway glaze aside I hope you enjoy using this team! I have never had more fun using a team in this generation, and it has taken many months of testing to get to this stage, so I hope you'll have fun using it as well. And any areas for improvement would be much appreciated!
