Shouldn’t there not be byes in a Swiss tournament? (Or a max of 1 to make it an even number.) Since no one is eliminated for the first 4 weeks this would keep 10 slots of byes in every week…

Or is this supposed to be single elimination or
something and the OP is incorrect?

just had a chat about this with gold mason. byes in r1 of a swiss can help make sure u don't eventually have a 3-man final (like in my ADV Ubers Spotlight Tour) which could hypothetically go on forever. it's ultimately up to the hosts in this case, since the other perspective is that these spotlight tours are just for people to get the chance to play more niche old tiers (I continue to run my Spotlights without byes)
