Rbtt finals wooooooooo
No highlighted matches this time because, well, I am sure we all want to watch every game of this series, don't we? Therefore, today I'll resume my role as "rands historian" and share some facts and possible occurrences that can happen at the end of these finals. I wrote some trivia about the teams behind the spoilers and I also added an appendix which contains some stats and records concerning Rbtt in itself and in connection with the other main tournaments of the community. Enjoy the post and may the best team win :p

Flame Body Faction trivia

The spoiler is lava

- JustOut459 can be the first person to win Rbel and Rbtt as a manager. Not just that, but he would do it back to back and at his very first attempt, which would be a phenomenal result
- Justin and Ghostilex would be the second australians to win Rbtt as managers (TheDarkestFlame was the first to do so back in Rbtt 1!)
- Ghostilex can become the first Rbtt manager to win without having any ranks on Pokemon Showdown. He would also be the second non randbats auth to win after Poat
- Star Wheel could be the second player after Career Ended to win Rbel and Rbtt back to back. He would also be the first player to achieve so under the same manager (Justin), with the other Rbel manager being his teammate for this season (Trade)
- Even Trade can complete the b2b Rbel and Rbtt and she would represent a unique case of winning the former as a manager and the latter as a player
- Given she already won Rbtt in 2020 with team Victini, Trade winning this year would likely represent the biggest gap for a player between the first and the second Rbtt title (2020-2026)
- Ninjadog would be the fourth name on this team to add his name to the list of winners of Rbel and Rbtt. Unlike the others, he would not do this in consecutive editions
- Chains of Markov and Star Wheel would join the exclusive club of people who won an open tournament of the Circuit and Rbtt
- The dutch could achieve an even more rare feat since he could become a winner of an open tournament, Wcor and Rbtt. Only Boris has done this before (you can add Michielleus if you consider the victory of the whole Circuit but it's a special case)
- JJ and Rofna can become two time and back to back Rbtt winners. The record of consecutive editions won belongs to LordST with 3
- Zap can win Wcor and Rbtt consecutively (so not in the same year but one after the other). Only Fragments has achieved this before
- To the surprise of absolutely no one, Michielleus could increase his already legendary resume with a second Rbtt win. He would be the only person to win Wcor once and the Circuit and Rbtt twice. Most importantly, he would also be the first person to hold the titles of Circuit and Rbtt champion at the same time
- Possible good news for Heatran fans: the winningest seed in Rbtt history is seed #2 (Hoopa 2018, Zapdos-Galar 2021, Yveltal 2023, Zeraora 2025), which never lost in the finals. It's also the fifth time seed #1 and #2 face each other for the title, one more than the seeds #3 vs #4 pairing
- Very minor trivia regarding the mascot: Heatran can be the 4th legendary pokemon to win Rbtt as a mascot, after Zapdos-Galar, Yveltal and Chi-Yu. It would be the first steel type to win and the third fire type overall after Victini and Chi-Yu. 3 wins for a fire type would also equal the record of psychic types (Hoopa x2 and Victini). Heatran would also be the second mascot of gen 4 to win after Shaymin-Sky
- In classic Fran fashion, a very useless trivia: Heatran would be the first quadrupedal mascot to win Rbtt except that I am actually an idiot because Shaymin Sky is already like that. I guess Heatran is the first quadrupedal that doesn't fly... (no, Air Balloon doesn't count)

Diamond Storms trivia

Shine bright like a diamond

- Is this the year the curse gets lifted? In 9 editions of the Random Battles Team Tournament, the first seed never managed to win the whole tour. Do the Diamond Storms have what it takes to make history? We'll see it soon!
- If they win Rbtt, Rage, Sunsets and Sapphire are going to be the first canadian managers to win the tournament. They would also follow Fragments as the only people who managed to win Wcor and Rbtt consecutively as managers
- Similarly to Ghostilex, sunsets can become the first Rbtt manager to win without having any ranks on Pokemon Showdown. He would also be the second non randbats auth to win after Poat
- Ionnss can be the first person in Rbtt history to claim the best record of the tournament in two editions, consecutive nonetheless
- Maris Bonibell is in a similar situation to Star Wheel: they can win Rbel and Rbtt back to back as a player (note: Maris was a mid-season replacement on Team Keldeo last year so this is her first full Rbtt season but not the first overall, technically)
- Just like Zap on team Heatran, Sapphire, Sunsets, Rage, Texas Cloverleaf and Blundergoth can all win Wcor and Rbtt back to back
- Career Ended can win his third rands team tour in a row (Rbtt 2025, Wcor 2025, Rbtt 2026). This would be a crazy good streak that I think only Fragments managed to reach (Rbtt 2024, Wcor 2024, Rbtt 2025), even getting dangerously close to make it 4
- Notable names of this community on team Diancie that are aiming to clinch their first Rbtt title: Nudepantsman, Teres Bahji, Xceloh, betathunder, satvik123
- Beta's situation is especially interesting: he started with Rbtt 2 and joined every other edition. 7 years would have passed between his first appearance in Rbtt and the eventual win, which is likely a record, both in terms of years and in terms of attempts required to win the tournament.
- Drifting could be yet another case of player winning Rbel and Rbtt. If he loses his first Rbtt final... well, he could be the second person to lose Rbtt, Wcor and Circuit Finals along with livid washed D:
Update: I realized he also lost an open tournament final so that would differentiate him from livid
- Blundergoth has the chance to win Rbtt as a player and Rbel as a manager in the same year but we'll have to see a few weeks to see if she manages to do that
- Buhrito is aiming to win his third Rbtt title. This man joined 4 editions and always reached finals, which is very impressive. However, he could also lose his second final in a row in Rbtt and third in rands team tours after Rbtt 7 and Wcor 4 which would be as impressive but not desirable :/
- Indulge in dreams (get pinged eheh) can join the list of people winning Wcor and Rbtt. He would be the third person to win Wcor before Rbtt and the one with the biggest gap between titles (4 years)
- Mascot: Diancie can be the 5th mythical pokemon to win Rbtt as a mascot, after Hoopa (x2), Victini, Shaymin Sky, Zeraora. It would be the first rock and the first fairy type and the third mascot from Gen 6 to win the tournament. Needless to say, it would be the first Mega to win too!
