Wanted to branch out from Alomomola structures, but fighting Ho-Oh with GHAZ sounds like a pain. IDK if I'd call it a bad matchup, but it's really annoying cause you just don't have enough options to threaten that bird short term. So I decided to drop Arceus Dark for Arceus Rock, which also let me run Spikes on Groudon because stacking hazards gives me dopamine. Choice Scarf Yveltal is my bread and butter so of course I had to add it, and I rounded the team out with Lunala as a breaker and switch-in to Primal Kyogre.

I played you all for fools.

The intention of submitting this team was never to win the Teambuilding competition. It was to show everyone following this a team that I was planning on using in tournament with the one big difference being it contained a Coil Zygarde instead of a Trapper Zygarde, thus convincing anyone here who I might happen to face in the tournament that the Zygarde I was using was significantly less threatening than it was, which would thus give me the opportunity to set up Trapper Zygarde and win the game. And with my opponent this week being Sami, I was given a golden opportunity to put this in play.

It didn't work. Zygarde clicked Dragon Dance once and then died to an Outrage. I don't even think Sami noticed this team had the same six mon as the team I submitted to the prior week.

:gothitelle: :arceus: :groudon-primal: :yveltal: :eternatus: :zygarde: Dual Trapper

For those who have been playing this tier for a while, you probably remember the old Dual Trapper sample by Eledyr, which was a pretty cool team (odd choice for a sample though). Trapper Zygarde traps opposing non-Tera Fairy Zygarde and defensive Primal Groudon of course, but Gothitelle can trap defensive Ho-Oh, and with Tera Water, defensive Primal Kyogre. These two allow Extreme Killer Arceus to become a much bigger nuisance to deal with defensively, since Life Orb Eternatus will be able to punish Giratina-O, while Zygarde can still check Marshadow despite the lesser defense EVs. Choice Scarf Yveltal is necessary to handle Sticky Web and other HO matchups, while Primal Groudon does its usual thing of checking Zacian-C and setting hazards.

And the winner is... Dual Trapper v2 :zygarde: :gothitelle: :arceus: :groudon-primal: :yveltal: :eternatus: by Sami!

Next Pokemon is...
:sv/marshadow:
Marshadow @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Ghost
Jolly Nature
- Poltergeist
- Spectral Thief
- Shadow Sneak
- Low Kick

Marshadow @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Ghost
Jolly or Naive Nature
- Spectral Thief
- Rock Tomb / Poltergeist / Hidden Power Ice
- Low Kick
- Shadow Sneak

Marshadow @ Life Orb / Marshadium Z
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Ghost / Stellar
Jolly or Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Poltergeist / Spectral Thief
- Low Kick
- Shadow Sneak

Marshadow has remained one of the tier's most potent yet splashable powerhouses, due to its fantastic typing, Speed, and unique moves in Spectral Thief and Technician-boosted Shadow Sneak. Combined with Terastalization, it is able to brute past right through foes that would ordinarily beat it, such as defensive Ho-Oh and Arceus-Fairy, assuming the former isn't struck down with Life Orb Rock Tomb instead. It has a place on a multitude of teams, from GHAZ balance to Sticky Web HO. How will you build around Marshadow? Building ends Friday 13th. (oo scary)

Double Life Orb Offense :marshadow: :yveltal: :diancie-mega: :groudon-primal: :ho-oh: :rayquaza:

With Marshadow, Yveltal can opt to run Tera Flying + Toxic, so that the two of them are able to wear down shared checks such as Arceus-Fairy and defensive Ho-Oh. I thought Bulk Up Marshadow was better than Rock Tomb or HP Ice since this team is a bit opposing Marshadow weak. Mega Diance helps against opposing HO teams such as Sticky Web and against Stall teams, while helping Yveltal wear down Zacian-C and Arceus-Fairy too. Primal Groudon helps against defensive Primal Kyogre and Zacian-C, while Tera Fairy Ho-Oh is a neat anti-offense tool against DD Zygarde and Mega Salamence. Finally, Rayquaza's Extreme Speed and typing helps a bit versus Primal Groudon, while offering pivot support and additional breaking power alongside Yveltal, making this team a FlySpam team too.

Apologies for the delay, the winners are:

Its a two way tie between Arceus-Fairy and Ultra Necrozma at 6 points each! Arceus-Fairy combines its solid bulk and lack of weaknesses to either be a strong setup Pokemon with Calm Mind, or it can opt to use a defensive set against threats such as Zygarde and Marshadow. Either way, it still remains a fantastic check to Yveltal and Mega Salamence. On the other hand, Ultra Necrozma is a notoriously powerful threat, finding its place on a variety of HO teams with either Dragon Dance or the more niche Swords Dance sets blowing holes through opposing teams, or on bulky offense and offense teams that appreciate the Stealth Rock utility combined with strong offensive pressure. How will you build around one or the other? Building ends Thursday 2nd April.
you are not required to use these two on the same team, you can build either one you want, unless you want to try use both on the same team.

Wobbuffet...? :wobbuffet: :necrozma-ultra: :deoxys-attack: :salamence-mega: :zacian-crowned: :eternatus:

Deoxys-A lead on a HO isn't very common, but I preferred it over Deoxys-S because it is less passive against anti-lead Marshadow and Scarf Yveltal, while not losing to Smeargle as easily either. Eternatus helps against Toxic Spikes and quickly snipes Ho-Oh, Mega Salamence is a big breaker versus Primal Groudon and defensive Ho-Oh, Ultra Necrozma helps vs opposing Zacian-C and Eternatus, while Tera Blast Zacian-C is a good cleaner for this team since nothing really utilises Terastalization. Well, except for:

Wobbuffet. A bit of a shitmon but it has had its course through Ubers HO teams. It's mostly just to punish revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Yveltal and Chien Pao, since it can easily trap them and kill them via Counter. It helps a bit versus Extreme Killer Arceus too, since we're Tera Blast Zacian-C and not Close Combat. It doesn't do anything against Marshadow which is why Deoxys-A and Mega Salamence are good here since they're harder for Marshadow to take down. Wobbuffet also helps a bit versus Stall because of Shadow Tag. It's still pretty shit tho ngl
