Welcome to Hoenn Stadium! Hoenn Stadium is the officially supported Singles format of Gen 3. It uses Bring6Pick3 rules, with Item Clause, Team Preview and no additional bans or restrictions. Full details at the link above. It has been recently added to Pokémon Showdown!
Compared to 6v6, Hoenn Stadium is much faster paced, but individual games are more volatile. It is recommended to play in Bo3s/Bo5s (with teamlock).
RULES
- Games are played in [Gen 3] Hoenn Stadium.
- Participants play 1 team-locked Best-of-5 per week.
- Closed Team Sheets by default unless both players agree otherwise.
- Players will be paired in every Swiss round. Even if you lose, you may still battle until Swiss is over.
- Players that qualify for Top Cut advance to a Single-Elimination phase.
- Schedule your matches with your opponent on Smogon walls or on Discord.
- Best-of-5s are team-locked, meaning you cannot change your team inbetween games. You may change your team from week to week however.
- All Pokemon from the first three generations are allowed, except Restricted ("Box" Legendaries) & Mythicals (e.g. Celebi, Jirachi).
- Item Clause (no duplicate items), Species Clause, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, Team Preview, Bring 3 out of 6
- Self-KO Clause (KOing all remaining Pokemon with a self-KO move results in a loss for the attacker)
- Soul Dew is banned.
- The format is Single Battles played on Pokémon XD, which includes all the above clauses. Your opponent's exact HP value will be visible during play.
- Wobbuffet and Wynaut are prevented from holding Leftovers. This is to prevent infinite stall in mirrors.
