Do you love DOU? Are you obsessed with VGC? Do you want to lose to Zee in six different formats? If you answered "yes" to any of those, then I welcome you to the first edition of the Vintage Doubles League! This will be a team tour featuring DOU and VGC formats from generations 3, 4, and 5.

Vintage Doubles League Overview:
  • 6 Teams to play in a 6v6 regular season, followed by a 6v6 playoffs stage featuring the top 4 teams
    • For a potential playoffs tiebreak, the higher seed will get to pick two metagames while the lower seed will only pick one
  • Format overview is as follows:
    • 1x ADV DOU
    • 1x DPP DOU
    • 1x BW DOU
    • 1x Orre Colosseum
    • 1x either VGC 2009 or VGC 2010, to be decided by signups
    • 1x VGC 2013
    • All formats are Bo3, with teamlock in place for VGC and Orre.
  • 80k budget for a min of 8 players, no max player cap
    • Bidding prices start at 3k
  • Each team can have a manager + one optional co-manager, one of which can be bought as player for 15k
  • Trades for players can happen until the start of Week 1
  • Standings will follow a points system, 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 for a loss.
As a manager, your responsibilities will be:
  • attending the draft and selecting an eligible team of players
  • sending rosters to the commissioner on time weekly
  • aid your players in their respective playing slots
  • resolving any conflicts that arise
  • motivating your team to have a great season!
The managers will be picked by the commissioner and the VGC forum staff.

Why should you be selected to manage?: I made finals in the last VGC Classics League, and have lots of experience with doubles formats in Gens 3-5. (Add more etc.)

Manager signups will be open until this Sunday, March 29th. Player signups open the 30th. The Auction is slated to be the week of April 13th, with a specific time and date to be decided. If you nor your comanager have availability for this period, you may want to reconsider signing up, as we will not be postponing the draft timeframe.

I know the old gens VGC community well and my partner in crime poli knows DOU and the player base (also great player!)

Why should you be selected to manage?: I would like to continue developing my managerial skills on this site and I feel like this will be a great opportunity to do so in a friendly and lower stake environment.

As a manager I helped UK finish top seed and reach the semifinal in LCWC, we narrowly missed out on playoffs in the final week in ZUCL, and we're currently down to the wire in LCCL. As a player I am familiar with ADV DOU, BW DOU and VGC 2013 - reaching the last 16 in ADV DOU Cup, round 10 of the recent BW DOU Cup, and currently in R7/Last 12 of the VGC 2013 tour.

Sheepie is an underrated doubles player who has been consistently getting great results, and is familiar with ADV, DPP, BW and ORRE. They are also involved in UMCL as a manager. Our timezone differences will mean that we can help our team out more easily.

We are both very active in the community so we are very familiar with a lot of the doubles players on the game.

We hope to be given this opportunity to manage, and we look forward to this tour.
