Project SV DOU Teambuilding Competition v3: Week 41 (Registeel)

Congratulations to budgie pup stew for winning! This week will be
:sv/Ogerpon-Cornerstone:
RockPon remains one of the few viable mons with Rock STAB in the tier, smashing through teams with its really good movepool - both offensively and for utility and has a very strong ability in the form of Sturdy, which can force a double into against mons like Chien-Pao which would otherwise explode into Ivy Cudgel

Team Submission ends Thursday, 12th of March!

Out of all the Ogerpon forms, Rockpon always felt the most underated despite having some insane tools at its disposal. The one thing I've always wanted was a reliable Rock-type move that doesn't miss all the time, and they not only gave us 100% accuracy STAB Stone Edge with more PP, but there's even the potential to gain 120 BP with Tera boost. Which is absolutely bonkers. This thing can theoretically just smack things around using one of the best offensive typings in the whole game without having to worry about resistances, or even things like Spore and Rage Powder.

So today's main focus is to turn Ogerpon-Cornerstone into a bundle of stats with Sand boosting it's Sp Def, Trailblaze for Speed, and Terastilized Embody Aspect for Def once it no longer benefits from Sturdy or Grass-typing. SD can be used to boost its Attack, but this set opts for Focus Energy instead to capitalize on those crits and ignore Intim spam, which it's normally quite weak to.

We also have a Slow Tornadus to win weather wars, AV Ttar being unbreakable with surprise Tera Blast Fairy, and Rock-type Weather Ball Lando being able to punish Flying mons that try to wall the usual Sandsear set. (And you might be thinking, "Why's this idiot bringing a focus sash pao onto a sand team?" But it really only has to do 1 of 2 things; Sword of Ruin to help Oger kill more, or just being an overall offensive threat/support during the times when sand isn't available).

Basically, every other member is an ingredient designed to help turn this week's feature mon, Rockpon, into the true Cornerstone of the team by making it an unstoppable, wallbreaking monster.

rockpon is one of my fav mons in the tier
:ogerpon-cornerstone: :chien-pao: :rillaboom: :chi-yu: :landorus: :okidogi:

this team got me 5th on ladder, its super fun pure hyper offense. choice band tera grass rilla hits insanely hard, its an underrated set which works very well here. rockpon almost always trades well with sturdy and bonk, sd helps it reach even greater heights and can have a shock factor (common theme with this team). pao does icy wind pao things, same as chi yu with flamethrower over overheat to increase its reliability cause this team is super volatile accuracy wise. tera ghost lando is great for sniping incin frame one of a battle, who's fake out's it can successfully bait 90% of the time when lead with chi yu, whilst benefitting greatly from pao's icy wind and rilla being able to ohko no bulk waterpon w/ tera glide (ohko all w/ sor). okidogi gives much needed fighting stab and a further way to threaten woger whilst deterring intimidate. one of my fav teams ive built

:ogerpon-cornerstone: :incineroar: :roaring-moon: :gholdengo: :landorus: :farigiraf:

Focus energy superpower rockpon with fake out support and a side of extra gholdengo hate. i built the rockpon set bc it seemed like the perfect ogerpon form to take advantage of superpower, with focus energy ignoring attack drops, sturdy minimizing defense drop impact, and rock-fighting coverage hitting the entire format but one glistening coin man. Incineroar’s intimidate and fake out support combined with sturdy trivializes getting the focus energy off, and additional partners all offer something in speed control, a fighting and ice-type switch in, and priority blocking.

Notes: Incineroar and gholdengo have similar speeds for using intimidate's activation to scout for whether setting trick room is beneficial or harmful. also insert tera dark gholdengo advertisment

EVs: ogerpon is max max jolly, incineroar outspeeds chien-pao in tailwind and lives landorus earth power, roaring moon is standard, gholdengo lives itemless timid landorus earth power and black glasses kingambit sucker punch while functioning in trick room against opposing gholdengo, landorus lives rillaboom wood hammer and twisted spoon hatterene expanding force, and farigiraf outspeeds the ogerpons in tailwind.

edit: paste works now i think ty sheep (again)

Congratulations to sheepie for winning! This week's will be
:sv/cresselia:
Cresselia is an absurdly bulky Trick Room setter with the ability Levitate, so it has great synergy with Trick Room attackers like Ursaluna that want to be clicking Earthquake, or to switch in for mons such as Diancie that do not want to eat a strong Earth Power from Landorus.

Team submission ends Thursday, 19th of March!

TR Gambit + Cresselia Support

:Kingambit::Rillaboom::Farigiraf::Torkoal::Diancie::Cresselia:

This team is silly. It takes field control to the most extreme while trying to support setup Gambit. Rillaboom does a lot of heavy lifting with Fake Out support and Grassy Terrain to provide additional sustain and counter Psyspam. Giraffe prevents the opp from using their priority while you get to keep Sucker and Fake Out, while also providing Imprison support to prevent them from either canceling your TR or to prevent them from setting up their own TR if their team is slower. Torkoal is an additional TR sweeper that also provides weather control with Drought to counter Rain and Sand teams, while also making Paradox mons that would normally enjoy the speed boost go even slower in TR. Make no mistake, however, the unsung hero of this team is Cresselia with Ally Switch to protect all 3 sweepers from their crippling Ground weaknesses and just being the perfect sponge for tanking hits in general, as well as Lunar Blessing for both longevity and to cure pesky statuses like Sleep and Burn.

:cresselia: :torkoal: :walking-wake: :rillaboom: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :glimmora:

Got the idea of a super fat moonlight cresselia from lifetouches and thought it would be nice to expand on it a bit. Cresselia with grassy seed, calm mind, and a recover that heals two thirds is harder to break than tungsten, especially not with the myriad of supporting options this team has. Yawn torkoal and fake out rillaboom buys extra turns for cresselia to set up, and a fast snarl wake bolsters cresselia's already staggering physical bulk. hearthflame provides follow me as well as the tier's hardest hitting move in tera fire embody aspect cudgel in sun, and glimmora puts pressure on the opponent to beat cresselia before poison wears away at their health, which is far easier said than done.

EVS: cresselia lives sword of ruin tera dark black glasses kingambit kowtow cleave and specs gholdengo shadow ball. rillaboom lives tera poison sludge bomb form landorus, and ogerpon-hearthflame 2hkos most indeedee with boostless ivy cudgel. glimmora, walking wake and torkoal are all standard

:cresselia: :tornadus: :ursaluna: :ogerpon-cornerstone: :raging bolt: :chi-yu:

a pretty funny hyper offense team which is sorta a tail-sun-room, with the 4 insnaley strong offensive pieces and then 2 speed control options (torn can also pack a punch with max spa tera flying bleakwind). usually if you can control the pace of the game early with this team then it will fairly easily tear through your opponent

Again, this team isn't built for this competition. I just saw the current round is Cresselia, and I want to share it. The wincon of this team is Grassy Seed NP Spectrier, and double Fake Out and double Intimidate can help it to setup. Mbeam Glimmora can deal a lot of damage and set TSpike in the early game. Cresselia run a Scarf set, and most of the time people won't realize it. Icy wind for speed control(you also can use ice beam to one-shot common Landorus), Moonblast deal supereffective damage on Chien-pao, Moltres-G, Regidrago and Roaring Moon, Tera Steel is a good defensive typing on Cres because it has levitate, and TSteel tera blast can one-shot Ninetales-A, which is aim for very popular veil team. Landorus-T can be replaced by other supporting mons such as Ogerpon-W, Ting-lu or Snarl Raging Bolt, but I think Landorus-T does his job in this team.

Here is one replay on OSDT, I use this team and won one game.

Congrats to Team Rocket CO for winning! This week will be
:sv/registeel:

Registeel has made quite the name for itself as a unique take on the settup style of mons (mostly thanks to Hugo), using Iron Defense to set up a difficult to break on the Physical side while having a very strong utility movepool

Team submission ends Thursday, 26th of March!

I felt that I could not not respond to this, so here it is: :ting-lu: :blissey: :rotom-wash: :toxapex: :glimmora: :Registeel:

This team is not what it looks....
Is this a good team, is this the best Registeel set, is this a new team? All fair questions and the awsner is no to all of them but it is however a funny team.

If you wanna see this team in action I got a few showcase games here (minus the registeel but garg is basically the same anyways)
