  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for us to make decisions for activity calls when we can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to us or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, but they also contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • To managers: Please send us your lineups in the same format that we used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.
  • All formats are Best of 3 with the exception of RBY 1v1 which is a Best of 7.
  • Please note in NC97, No two Pokémon can be asleep, if you put multiple to sleep, you lose. And clicking the move Struggle violates Struggle Clause and will result in the offending player forfeiting the game.

Week 3 Highlight Matchups! I ended up being too busy to post these last week, which is a real shame because Week 2 had some really good matchups.

Nintendo Cup 1997: Hayburner vs DerpySuX
Even coming off an unfortunate loss last week, I'd still refer to Hayburner as unambiguously the strongest player in the NC97 pool. Despite NC97 playing fundamentally differently from most Pokemon tiers, including RBY ones, Hayburner has continued to not only dominate in the tier, but also innovate it. Whether he'd admit himself or not, his builds and play demonstrate a really deep understanding of the tier's uniqueness. DerpySux is a pretty underrated player in the pool, having seemingly even underrated themself. They've opened the tournament with the only 2-0 record left in the pool (excluding the pair on the Mankeys), therefore exhibiting a strong form so far. I think this will be a pretty close set, and definitely worth catching if you can. I have difficulty playing NC97, but I unironically think it's one of the best tiers to watch live.

RBY Draft: Amaranth (Draft 2) vs shiloh (Draft 3)
According to the (admittedly very shoddy) RBYOMPL II Power Rankings, these two are our top two starters in RBY Draft. Neither player really needs any kind of introduction. They are both accomplished players with a long history between them. This is probably the strongest pairing this week in terms of combined player skill, at least in a general RBY vacuum.

RBY SU: ButtGallon vs missangelic
So this is actually a rematch of the finals of RBY SU Open Two (yes, the number is written out in the title), which I believe is the most recent forum tournament for RBY SU. ButtGallon ended up taking the tournament from the losers' side of the bracket and is sitting at a comfortable 2-0 record right now, making him the player to beat. Nonetheless, missangelic put up a good fight in the grand finals, taking both sets to game three. They are incensed to get their revenge, so I foresee a really tight set between strong players here. It's also interesting to see a clash between more of an RBY main and a general SU main in the tier that marries the two.

RBY 1v1: McMeghan vs magialice
I don't know what it is, but I just got a good feeling about this set. RBY 1v1 is something else.
