Metagame Monocolor [APRIL LADDER SPOTLIGHT]

So after being dead weight on community I decided to do something for it. The following is the first chapter of my book mono coloris a complete guide to mono colours. I am currently working on the rest of chapters but it would take me a lot of time so I decided to upload it chapter by chapter after all 10 chapters are created they would be compiled in a single msg with additional information. Till then enjoy ;)

MONO COLORIS

A guide to mono colours

VOLUME 1 CHAPTER 1

RED

IT'S RAININ BLOOD

S tiers

:Zamazenta:

Job description

in the sea of red sweepers who aren't afraid to spill some blood it act as a defense mon which is really fast and also do good damage. Basically there is nothing it can't do

Body press + iron defense

This set never gets old and zamma gets stab on body press + really high defense + free def boost basically after factoring everything it does more than close combat but the drawback being that you had to sweep at once cuz due to gen 9 nerf it only gets one boost. It would also run roar to get rid of setup sweepers and unfavorable matchups

Howl boost

This sets use howl to boost attack and then sweep with its physical move pool which includes but not limited to
-Close combat
-crunch
-heavy slam
-elemental fangs

Tera recommendation: Dark/Fighting

:Deoxys-speed:

Job description

Sucide bomber

It is the sucide lead of choice for red users you want hazards? It can do that you want screens ? It can do that you wanto punish other sucide or hazards lead? Taunt would get the job done

In term's of set this pokemon would always run screens last move warries between
-taunt
-stealth rocks
-psycho boost

Tera recommendation : ghost

A tiers

:Latias:

Job description

Bulky sweeper

Weakness policy
Yeah, this thing has only one set which is kinda cheesy as it uses weakness policy combined with its natural bulk to create a monster. It's 110 speed make it fast and if wp gets activated (which it would cuz u-turn and knock off are really common) then it's a monster some other moves it runs are
-draning kiss cuz recovery
-stored power
- calm mind ( to boost the fuck out of it)

Tera recommendations
Fairy no question asked

:Scizor:

Job description: priority go burrr

Classic sd

The set that made scizor a monster in gen 4 sword dance to boost attack it would run knock off and close combat although these 2 moves are generally changeable, and can't forgot bullet punch. Good luck surviving +2 technician boosted Tera boosted priority bullet punch

Band
The set pretty much remains the same with u turn instead of sd. This set trades sweep potential with more initial power . Scizor is the best revenge killer in general but this set boosts it's revenge killing power

Tera recommendation: steel

:Moltres-galar:
Job description :sweeper

Double set up
This mon would generally run both agility and nasty plot at same time combined with dual stab in form of hurricane and fiery wrath. It would run sitrus berry as it complements it's ability beserk.

Tera recommendation: ghost

:Blaziken:
Job description: death, the destroyer of gen 5 ou

Ah ,Whom am i kidding everyone knows

Speed boost+
sd + protect
Close combat
Flare blitz
Ggs

For item it would run sitrus berry cuz healling

Tera recommendation: fire/fighting

:Skeledirge:
Job description : sweep breaker/reverse sweeper

Unaware stops sweeper for item I like boots cuz 25 percent ever time you switch in is a lot for a defensive mon. Shadow ball for stab and a coverage move generally fairy type
Now let's address the crocodile in the room torch song, which gives it a +1 spa every time it use it. The only thing keeping this monster in check is its bad speed cuz crocodiles can't run very fast

Tera recommendation: fairy

:Rotom:
Job description :utility mon

This mon got utility belt like Batman
Pain split, t wave, Willow wisp it got it all now rotom wash is better than the other forms
Which Are much more team specific and changeable according to team needs. Except rottom fan that guy is literally trash (Or may I say i am not a big fan;)

Tera recommendation: grass

Creator's note: I wanted to talk about some other mons but they are not Relevant enough although they might be added when complete book comes out
Until then, good bye

Chapter 2
Blue

It's raining water

After the red it's time for blue the best hazards in the whole game. This arc replies on outstanding offense optimized with optional addition of excellent hazards support so without any further Ado let's begin

S tier

:Garchomp:

Job description: death destroyer of worlds

O garchomp, you along with Cynthia have crushed so many dreams of kids playing diamond and pearl. This meance to society is always top tier no matter the format.

Sshot +loaded dice+sd
The classic set where you boost your offense with sword dance then use scale shot to ko anything then sweep with the speed boost. Scale shot already saw some usage during gen 8 ou but with dice this gen it's crazy good

Bulky tank
This sets uses rough skin paired with Rocky helmet to punish physical mons this set also runs.when garchomp was facing fraud allegations this gen it hit no.1 with this set to prove it's glory
-spikes
-dtail
-Equack

Tera recommendation: fire(to prevent burn) or ground (damage go burrr)

A tiers

:Glimmora:

Job description: hazard setter

Glimora can both set reliable set hazards and remove them with mortal spin. Toxic debris allows to set tspikes combined with stealh rock

Sash hazard lead
This set takes advantage of glimora ability combined with stealh rock. Focus sash ensures that both layers of t spikes are up.

Power metro sweep
This sets uses power herb + metro beam to increase gliomars spa and in best case scenario sweep. This set commonly runs
-srock
-Dazzling gleam
-metro beam
-sludge wave/power gen

Tera recommendation: fairy/ghost

:Iron crown:

Job description: sweeper

Booster sweeper
This mon uses booster energy to boost either speed or spa and then boosts further with calm mind. It's moveset generally involves
-calm mind
-Tcutter
-Fblast
-spower/pshock
Tera recommendation: fighting

:Latios:

Job description: set up sweeper (wait a min... Sounds familiar)

It's staple of every blue team it is a pyschic type calm mind sweeper (Wait that sounds familiar) . This Pokemon has it's own signature item soul dew which boosts it's dragon and pyschic type moves by 20% combined with stab that is 1.8x . There are only few mons which lives to tell the tale after latios drops a draco. Not to mention calm mind making it even stronger. It would also run pyschshock although Luster purge is a considerable . Now someone in Pokemon HQ thought it would be a good idea to give this mon recover...
Yeah, there is almost nothing left to say

Tera recommendation: fairy/dragon

:Manaphy:

Job description: sweeper (hang on a min..)

Yeah there's a Reason tail glow has such shit distribution, I mean what are these 2 funny looking bugs gonnna do ?
But give it to a mythical Pokemon with 100 state and now you are looking at a mon with 250 SPA!! and technically it's more cuz ivs and EVs also effects the only thing stoping this thing from becoming a tier is it's speed and its not even that slow 100 is a decent speed tier and it also has substitute to mitigate the drawback of its slow speed . For moves it would like to run
-Dazzling gleam
-Surf ( stab )
-tail glow
-Substitute
Tera recommendation: fairy

:Ninetales-Alola:

Job description : screens ( finally something new )

This mon forms the big 3 of blue leads it uses snow along with aurora veil to support teams with reduced damaged allowing sweepers to sweep it's a enabler. This mon would hold light clay to ensure 8 turns of screens. It also provides support with encore denying set up sweepers . Stab hundred percent accurate Blizzard Hits decently hard and freeze dry to hit water types and you are good to go you also go for moonblast for dual stab

Tera recommendation: ghost

:Samurott-Hisui:

Job description: hazards

This is the final mon of big 3 hazards of blue . This mons signature move ceaseless edge set-up spikes automatically which is great as this move is also boosted by it's ability sharpness, this ability also compliments samourot line's signature move razor shell as it is also boosted . Knock off is a great move as it allows to remove item most prominently heavy duty boots. It's moveset is finished by aqua jet for priority to revenge kill.

Tera recommendation : ghost

:Dondozo:

Job description set-up denier/sweeper ( who could have predicted)

This mon uses unaware to ignore set-up it also act as a bulky sweeper using curse to set up. Wave crash for crazy stab damage, recoil is bad for a bulky mon but this drawback is mitigated by it's next move which is rest . Rest provides a way to recover health reliably this move is paired with sleep talk to not waste the turn spent sleeping. For it's last move it would either run earthquake or body press.

Tera recommendation: ghost

Writers note : I also wanted to talk about articuno but it's c tier which is very very underrated but I am planning to cover that in a completely different msg where I would talk about my own views on viability rankings .Also there is still a lot more to talk about but I am trying to keep each chapter around 1000 words so this has to do for now but,

Until then

Chapter 3
Yellow

It's Raining gold (we all know the culprit)

Yellow specialize in balance and bulky balance play style

S tiers
:Gholdengo:
Job description:bulky sweeper

Goldengo, the poster boy of generation 9 ou it has many tools decent bulky, high damage outputs mediocre speed . There is nothing this man can not do. All this is complimented by it's great ability good as gold . There are a lot of set variation most common of them being
-Make it rain
-Nasty plot /recover
-shadow ball
-Dazzling gleam

This set utilizes the naturally high spa of goldengo complimented by nasty plot. Dazzling gleam act as insurance against dark types trying to snipe gold. Shadow ball is good stab. Make it rain is just crazy damaged which is mitigated by nasty plots +2 special attack . Nasty plot is sometimes dropped for recover in bulky variants

There is another set that I would like to share thet is

-t wave
- make it rain
-hex
-recover

This set is a more bulky variant as it utilizes t wave to cripple the opponents halving their speed and making them unable to move 30 percent of the time, this status is complimented by hex as it doubles in base power if opponent is statused making it 130 bp from 65 bp . Make it rain is for instant explosive power. Recover is for sustainability as this set aims to slowly cripple opponents team .

Tera recommendation: water/fairy

:Raging bolt:

Job description: bulky sweeper

This mon also has a lot of variety in ou, but in mc it almost always runs booster energy as it increases it spa to next level which is paired with calm mind to boost the duck(or giraffe)up . This mon also has a signature move known as thunder clap which is a electric type spa variant of sucker punch so even fast mons are not safe. Some other moves it runs are
- thunder bolt
- dragon pulse

Some sun/ rain variants run
-solar beam (sun)
- weather ball(common)
- thunder (rain)
Tera recommendation: ghost /grass

A tiers

:Keldeo:
Job description:( offensive mon)

Keldio is an great offensive mon as it provides important water coverage without being tied to supportive role like peliper or being psyduck. It benifits greatly from rain as it boost it's stab water moves. This mon runs nasty plot or calm mind to boost the duck up and then sweep it has decent Speed combined with priority in form of. Stab vacum wave. It's other moves include

-ice beam
-Secret sword
--surf

Tera recommendation: water

:Moltres:
Job description :bulky offense

This mons enitiree career is dependent on heay duty boots added in generation 8 . Taking 50 percent each time you switch in is terrible for a mon who wants to be defensive, although removal of defog hurts but it's not enough to make moltres unviable. It's ability falme body gives 30 percent chance of burning the opponents if they make contact halving their physical attacks and doing chip damage. Roost for longevity as it compliments really well with flame body bcz the more hp this mon has the more it can take which means higher chance of crippling opponents burn . Some other moves this mon runs are
-flame thrower
-huricane
-u turn
-roar
-scorching sand

Tera recommendation: grass / fairy

:Mimikyu:

Gen 7 worst nightmare, this mons ability allows it to survive one attack no matter what, this ability was paired with focus sash in past to ensure that it will survive 2 Hits giving it time to use sd twice which means Don even think of relevance if you can't survive +4 satb boosted priority shadow sneak. This ability was later nerfed in gen 8 . Ghost and fairy together is a fundamentaly broken combo , like what do you mean it's Immune to 3 of most common physical types while hitting 2 of them back super effectively ,And the ability..

If I had a nickel every time Pokemon made a broken ghost fairy mon with crazy ability I would have 2 nickle

Some other moves are
- drain punch
-play rough
- shadow sneak

Tera recommendation :normal/fighting

Editors note: ok so this list is kinda short I know, but this is still around +800 words I am trying to keep each chapter around 800-1000 words last one was on the upper spectrum so I am gonna cut this one short. Also the upload speed might slow down after this cuz my school's are about to reopen and I WOULD RATHER DIEEEE THEN USE AI.. it doesn't have that emotion, I would try to upload next ch before 5 cuz that's the whole reason I am making this in first place. But, that's for some other time for now.

Speed tiers are finally here boyz!!
I Think these are all the important mons if you feel like I should add a certain mons or if there's a error contact me via dm or discord. Also the initial list was a lot longer Some updates would be made on this list, I would try to complete final list 2 or 3 days before mc spring week 1.
