You'll navigate twists familiar and unfamiliar, and find advantages and idols. You will form and break alliances, and hopefully make a few friends along the way as well. Over the course of the next three months, 1 player will outlast 80 other highly capable and talented competitors. That player will be our winner and win the Smogon sitewide banner ”Sole Survivor”! Additionally, as a nifty treat, the winner will get a CUSTOM AVATAR!
It will be a more twist-heavy game than a typical Survivor game (especially during the earlier phases), that will reward adaptive gameplay and strong social skills. For those of you who haven’t played Bigvivor (or Hal/Vizh games before), I recommend looking at the previous servers (and threads, but Big3 and 4 have servers). Due to the nature of the game, we encourage applicants to have experience with Survivor specifically.

Eventually you manage to stuff your rucksack with the essentials, enough for you to begin your adventure, but you can afford little else.
Now that the righteous cause that has been bubbling in you since birth finally has a focus. But Anton had other stones, and as you resolve yourself to become the great uniter of Bonteterra, you resign yourself to the fact that those with stones may be either with you or against you. Relief and exhilaration flood your body as you set out on the road. You are doing what you were always meant to do. Obviously YOU and you alone are the one meant to, whether by quill or sword, forge a better world. As you set out for the place you will begin to grow your following, you mutter a mantra to yourself.
This year, yet again, we plan to find the undisputed best Survivor player on Smogon. This is an 81 (maybe more but probably not) player Survivor game that should finish in 3 months. As such with Survivor being adapted to such a large cast size, it will be a hard fought battle from beginning to end.
You'll navigate twists familiar and unfamiliar, and find advantages and idols. You will form and break alliances, and hopefully make a few friends along the way as well. Over the course of the next three months, 1 player will outlast 80 other highly capable and talented competitors. That player will be our winner and win the Smogon sitewide banner ”Sole Survivor”! Additionally, as a nifty treat, the winner will get a CUSTOM AVATAR!
It will be a more twist-heavy game than a typical Survivor game (especially during the earlier phases), that will reward adaptive gameplay and strong social skills. For those of you who haven’t played Bigvivor (or Hal/Vizh games before), I recommend looking at the previous servers (and threads, but Big3 and 4 have servers). Due to the nature of the game, we encourage applicants to have experience with Survivor specifically.

If you want to play, join the server. Either post on the thread with your Discord username and tag or message one one of the hosts in the server. The game will be first come-first serve. Applications will close either when 81 people have been reached, at which point new posters will be available as backups. If there are not 81 players by April 8th , at 9PM EST, the gamestart will be postponed depending on how many slots are empty.
The game is set to start on April 10th, at 9PM EST. (Note: deadline time may change during season depending on cast availability)
Who should apply?
You should be mature, and be reachable on discord frequently each day, or be willing to make plans if you need to go AFK. We'll be operating on very strict 24 hour deadlines. As much as I'd love to give room for flexibility, the size of the game restricts our timeframe considerably.
How long will this last?
It depends on how the game goes, but it should be sometime in 3 months.
What should I expect from a 81p survivor game?
You should expect standard mechanics (tribal and individual challenges/immunity). We have gone to great lengths to ensure that at most stages in the game, you feel like you are playing in a regular Survivor game. We will not put you in tribes any larger than you would find on the show or on any other standard Survivor games. I encourage you to think of this as a game that differs in length, rather than in playercount.
Twists will be more uncommon as the player count reduces to a size that is standard for a Survivor game.
When will deadlines be?
9PM ET. Occasionally, we will ask that you be online at that time for an hour or two in order to do live challenges. It will never be necessary, though it may advantage your game if you're able to be online at that time. If the next challenge is live (meaning you have to be on at 9PM ET, then we will tell you so at the beginning of the previous phase so you can prepare. Some challenges may have a semi-live component where you will schedule with another player(s) and we will be lenient as long as an effort is made.
What kind of challenges do you design?
Every challenge in this game is something that I would be willing to play if there was nothing at all at stake. If you want an example of the types of challenges, look through the Bigvivor 3 and 4 servers.
How do applications work?
Our applications are first come first serve, so long as you meet the loose criteria set above. We will advertise to broader and broader audiences as we get closer to deadline, up until the moment where we fill up on all 81 slots.
What will the banner and custom avatar look like?
It will read "Sole Survivor" in the same color as the other Circus Maximus banners. Unlike banners given out for Mafia or Puzzle Hunts, only one user on the entire site will be able to wear this banner: you. As far as the custom avatar goes, that is also up to you! I asked and they wouldn't give me one too!
