Project RU Teambuilding Lab

hello hello ask and u shall receive: https://pokepast.es/cddf121c3c28274d

i was kinda already toying around with kleavor ideas already and then u popped in asking for a team so voila lol. Scarf kleavor is funny, fast guy outpacing the scarfed gards and legions of the world, but still slower than krook so mind that. I didn't really care TOO much about the last move slot nor the tera, you could very well make it cc in that slot with tfight, or just regular cc and be trock or tbug, but I went for ace bc it snipes out mienshao and explodes chesnaught with tera. AV gallade feels pretty good rn, the breaking power is the same but u can face tank stuff like a gengar and non specs legion shadow balls depending on ur hp which can take a load off of umbreon who would typically be the guy swapping into those ghost clicks. talon+umb+empo is just like a solid backbone, not a ton to say there. Oh but I will mention the empoleon is rocky helmet just bc theres a lot of like maushold you might see running around ladder and whatnot so thats there, make it lefties if you don't care about having the helmet guy. Then lastly is specs noivern, he's just like a good hard hitter very fast, gives you some nice resistances esp worth mentioning a second ground immunity beyond talon, and specs tnormal boomburst hits for crazy and goes through subs and stuff which is always pretty cool. Tested this on ladder and its done pretty good but lmk if you have any questions and happy ruing!
thank u ❤

Hi, can someone build me a team that utalises this :Porygon-Z: set (ideally with the tera ghost helping to keep up a hazard of somekind) pls? Maybe this could work on a balance but tbh i rly wouldn’t know.

Porygon-Z @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Adaptability
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Beam
- Tera Blast
- Ice Beam
- Trick

hi, I been playing RU for a while and I've loved Endure+Weakness Policy Armarouge. So could I have a SV Hyper Offence Team with Armarogue?

Hello! Here's your team (with permission from Rare)
https://pokepast.es/e31574bfe217af05

the idea is simple, it uses a fast taunt lead and Maushold support to keep hazards off, letting Armarouge bait being boots thanks to calm mind and baiting in super effective moves to boost itself, with Tera Ghost for Entei's Extreme Speed, the hazard control core also supports Sash Gengar nicely, for further hazard control and trading with defensive special walls like Goodra-H and Muk-A for Armarouge and Diancie, Krook is also chosen to support maushold with it's ability to knock off effectively threats like Chesnaught and Slowbro, also being able to beat Chesnaught with tera Poison, while Maushold runs Bullet seen, for its ability to remove Gastrodon to help back Krookodile, Diancie finally adds a backbone to the team and works as a powerful cleaner once the special walls have been removed or weakened by Gengar and Armarouge

Hi, can someone build a balance/BO team (not HO) that uses a Dragon Dance Mew? Here's the set I looked at, but this could probably be tweaked with different attacking moves or a different item/tera:

Mew @ Lum Berry
Ability: Synchronize
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Psychic Fangs
- Poltergeist
- Close Combat

Hello and thank you for your request! Here is the team I built for you:
:porygon-z::krookodile::cyclizar::chesnaught::empoleon::reuniclus:

I changed your Porygon-Z set slightly. Hyper Beam is not a great option since giving your opponent one free turn to play ends up being too detrimental, especially against popular HO structures. Tera Blast is a good STAB option and coupled with Tera Fighting and the coverage of Shadow Ball you can hit any target in the tier. Ice Beam is here to clip the remaining targets like Noivern and Breloom. Adaptability could be an option here but I went for Download because boosting Shadow Ball is often key against top tier threats like Slowbro, Jirachi or Armarouge. I then added a hazard stacking core since you seemed to like the idea to play around hazards. Krookodile and Chesnaught bring the hazards and the Knock Off support to make sure they are effective. Chesnaught can Tera Ghost to prevent Rapid Spin attempts and Empoleon takes advantages of Defog while serving as a SpD wall. Reuniclus brings more insurance against Fighting-types and Suicune, but also adds some special pressure to help Porygon-Z clean later in the game. Armarouge can be difficult for the team since Chesnaught and Reuniclus allow it to switch in relatively freely, but you can use Cyclizar and Empoleon to soft check its moves and pressure it with either Krookodile or Porygon-Z. Nevertheless, the team is rather well-rounded so I hope you like it!

This is great! Tysm!

Hi! This request is pretty difficult to follow through since Dragon Dance Mew is extremely situational. The issue with offensive Mew sets is the lack of damage, 100 Atk isn't that high and will struggle against our top tier walls such as Slowbro and Registeel. This is why the go-to setup set for Mew uses Nasty Plot coupled with a recovery option in Draining Kiss to setup several times.

I happen to have a team built around DD Mew that I assembled rather recently and it has been quite fun to use. I will give it you even though the set I use is very different from yours.
:mew::muk-alola::talonflame::gastrodon::mienshao::gardevoir:
I went all the way with the cheese and opted for Loaded Dice Dragon Dance Mew for more damage (the surprise factor is also nice). You can clean the entirety of the tier pretty well except for Steel-types which the team is built around weakening. Use Muk, Gardevoir and hazard chip damage to weaken them as much as possible then setup at least 2 Dragon Dance with Mew and enjoy the rest. This team is very much not optimized so you are welcome to add modifications.

Could someone make a d-dance necrozma team that's HO or bulky offence using d-dance, photon gyster, brick break and moonlight, and holding a weakness policy? Thanks
Hello! Interesting request, Necrozma does feel pretty niche in the tier right now but also quite under explored to me. Here is a team Metallica126 built for RUPL and won with:
:necrozma::empoleon::slowbro::noivern::gengar::krookodile:

The team was tweaked a bit to be easier to use but the core idea remains. Necrozma is here to act as a late-game sweeper. If you go the Moonlight route, then you might as well use a defensive item to ensure you can setup easily. The Covert Cloak means you can use Dragon Dance against Pokemon like Slowbro for instance which is extremely handy as you can see in the replay below. Earthquake is the best move for coverage with Photon Geyser. The rest of the team is rather basic with Slowbro + a Steel-type. Noivern balances out the core with removal and some speed. Gengar is the ultimate speed control that can facilitate Necrozma's sweep with Trick or Toxic Spikes. Krookodile is quite threatening at the moment and will ensure Necrozma faces a very weakened team when it has to come out. If you have any question feel free to ask! Helias' team is also good and follows a similar trend so here you go!
