Week 7:
Bellibolt!!

DiancieVividVoltage79.jpg

Your imitation eyeballs that aren't actually eyeballs are MINE! Whosawhatsit? Indeed, this week's focus is Bellibolt! To long time RU-ers this big guy needs no introduction, but this fan-favorite mon has been around since forever, and even if it's fallen out of favor lately, Bellibolt's still got some tricks up it's sleeve! It can run its signature ability Electromorphosis to be able to turn the tides on aggressive attackers by striking back with twice the oomph, or it can run Static to cripple physical attackers clicking anything from U-turn to Close Combat, and allow for its teammates to follow up on the paralysis. It's also got a very self-sufficient movepool, being able to self-heal with Slack Off and Parabolic Charge, or support with Toxic (or even the dreaded accuracy dropping Muddy Water).
This week, your goal is to give Mr. Belli a break from reporting on room tours and put him back on stream for one last send-off!

#1 Bellibolt hater here to present, like, the only other usable Bellibolt set. I will bring some unique stuff though. This is a set I used way back in the days in this team I submitted in the RU Teambuilding lab for a Cobalion commission. Today, it's still very usable as Armarouge is a huge threat and Armor Cannon bounces right off. It also helps tanking Basculegion hits, Gengar, Magnezone, pretty much anything that hits on the special side. You still have decent damage thanks to Electromorphosis and decent physical defense because you're Bellibolt. That set is likely playable in Rain and Sun thanks to the access to Weather Ball, so that set can act as your special sponge in weather offense. Bonus points if using the set on Rain as you don't have to deal with Muddy Water's sus 85% accuracy (which becomes 50% once in battle)

I'm unsure about what to do about the low (literally one so far) number of set submissions, so I'll just declare that fluff is the default winner of this week and move to the next one tomorrow, when voting was originally going to end. I'll chalk it up to this week just being a bit restrained due to it being Bellibolt, and hope that NBT hasn't died...

Week 8:
Gengar

DiancieVividVoltage79.jpg

You may have thought that Next Best Thing was dead, but that's perfect because it fits this week's Ghost type focus: Gengar! From an OU staple to now a well-established RU specter, Gengar has always been defined by its amazing Speed and Special Attack stats, and ability to be extremely flexible in whatever role it's assigned (just don't ask it to run Ice Punch anymore). In RU, Gengar normally runs a variety of sets, making good use of its trickster personality to be anything at any point, from running Scarf sets to Air Balloon Nasty Plot sets. However, when the regular tricks are too predictable, that's when we must turn to see what the Next Best Thing is that Gengar can run: Continue making good use of Nasty Plot to set up to near unwallable levels of power, use Hex to capitalize on statused opponents, or perhaps use the more esoteric corners of Gengar's utility movepool like the now uncommon Reflect Type, any one of Encore, Disable, or Haze, or whatever Gengar's deep movepool offers. Regardless, this week YOUR goal is to see if you can get this Poltergeist to effectively haunt your opponents, or vanish trying!

set straight out of HJKHJ's repertoir with this multi-purpose gengar for HO, sash gives it the survivability it needs which is a great benefit for HO, and it sets itself aside from other offensive sash users thanks to its great speed tier, destiny bond allows it to work as further support for speatking allies, notably Armarouge, which which it shares a synergy with Maushold keeping hazards off, Gengar can easily force in a Goodra-Hisui, Empoleon or Muk-Alola and force a positive trade, structures wanting to spam powerful speatkers like the aformentionned Armarouge but also allies like Diancie and Mew highly benefit from forcing a trade with a key defensive piece and together can quickly break out of control and break whole structures, overall cementing itself with a unique and powerful niche on some HO teams

I remember watching an SV OU game with Curse lead Dragapult a while ago and thought I'd just make the same thing. This is probably bad but it made me laugh.

Set is pretty self-explainatory, I tried to compensate the lack of actual moves by just putting a tspikes + koff combo, mostly so that neither Blissey or knock-using scarfers can just kill it and move on with their lives. For those of you who aren't aware, Curse takes off around 25% HP from the opposing Pokémon if the user is a Ghost-type. While it's pretty useless on things such as :pmd/cyclizar: and I guess :pmd/mienshao: :choice-scarf:, getting such damages on any Pokémon (yes it hits Blissey) is huge.
Finally... well, you need Cursed Body to proc, but in case it happens, you know the deal, it's satisfying to have a move disabled followed by the threat being cursed.

Hey Hey Hey! It's time to now VOTE for what set you think is the Next Best Thing! Reminder that voting ends on <t:1775491260:f>, so make sure to get your votes in by then!
