Magearna @ Fairium Z
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Fleur Cannon
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt

Trick Room Magearna is a terrifying offensive and defensive force, using its solid bulk and typing to find opportunities to set up not only for its own late-game cleaning capabilities but also for teammates with middling Speed like Tapu Lele, Kyurem-B, and Mega Mawile, improving their matchup against faster offensive teams. Fairium Z offsets Fleur Cannon's drawback, turning Twinkle Tackle into a one-time nuke against neutral targets like Mega Charizard X, Landorus-T, and Gliscor. Focus Blast and Thunderbolt synergize perfectly with Fleur Cannon because the former punishes Steel-types like Heatran, Excadrill, and Ferrothorn and the latter threatens Toxapex and Celesteela. Fitting on offensive teams, entry hazard setters like Greninja and Landorus-T are vital, putting targets into KO range while bringing Magearna in safely with U-turn. Tapu Lele softens opposing teams and blocks priority and Fake Out users like Ash-Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Medicham from picking it off and wasting Trick Room turns. Meanwhile, Mega Mawile is not forced to rely as heavily on Sucker Punch to deal with otherwise faster foes under Trick Room and it helps wear down shared answers like Volcarona.

Trick Room Magearna is a terrifying offensive and defensive force, using its solid bulk and typing to find opportunities to set up, not only for its own late-game cleaning capabilities, but for teammates that also have middling Speed stats like Tapu Lele and Mega Mawile (mention specifically against the offense matchup since it's a playstyle that mons like lele and KB tend to struggle into but also cause it's not as obvious that these base 95s can be considered slow, esp for our more casual audience). Fairium Z offsets the drawback of Fleur Cannon dropping Magearna's Special Attack so that Twinkle Tackle can send foes like Landorus-T and Gliscor soaring to the stars. (maybe include other neutral targets like zardx [otherwise ice beam is just the better move to run if you want to hit lando & glisc] and emphasize the whole point of it just being a 'big nuke button' into lots of stuff) Focus Blast and Thunderbolt synergize perfectly with Fleur Cannon because the former punishes Steel-types like Heatran, Excadrill, and Ferrothorn, while the latter threatens Toxapex and Celesteela. Fitting in on offensive teams, entry hazard setters like Greninja and Landorus-T are vital, putting Magearna's targets into KO range and both can bring it in unharmed with U-turn. The aforementioned Tapu Lele softens opposing teams and stops priority and Fake Out users like Ash-Greninja, Mega Lopunny and Mega Medicham from picking it off and wasting Trick Room turns. Meanwhile, Mega Mawile is not forced to rely as heavily on Sucker Punch to deal with otherwise faster foes under Trick Room; instead, it can overwhelm them with its other attacking options, especially after using Swords Dance. (removed due to character count so you can instead mention how they soften up shared checks like volc for one of them to win)
