Unloading A Mag Into the Opposition (1750+)

With a surprisingly diverse moveset and one of the coolest designs of all-time in my humble opinion, I decided that it was time to build around the goat :Magmortar: . With that being said this is my attempt to do so and I hope you all enjoy!

:Magmortar: :

With a good number of coverage moves and a good enough special attack to be able to put pressure on a lot of threats in the metagame :magmortar: felt like it could be a fun pokemon to build around. to be able to resist a :Great Tusk: Headlong Rush or an :Enamorus: Earth Power to still get off a ko if that's what is needed in the moment. To target into long term threats like :Primarina: and :Alomomola: the first moveslot is taken up by thunderbolt. To hit into pokemon that thing they have a free switch in on :magmortar: like :Heatran: the second moveslot is scorching sands as that can get the ohko on physdef :Heatran: or two shot :Raging Bolt: making it easier to break through in the end game. To hit into :Tyranitar: and :Garganacl: with a powerful attack the third moveslot is taken up by focus blast. Finally for a strong stab option to pressure the opposition with the final moveslot is taken up by flamethrower.

:Great Tusk: :

Since :Magmortar: is weak into hazards with the Choice specs item taking the slot we needed some form of recovery , and tusk rapid spin felt like a good start. to resist attacks like moonblast from :Iron Valiant: and :Enamorus: and no longer be weak to ivy cudgel from :Ogerpon-Wellspring: the tera typing on tusk is steel. to have hazards apply pressure into the opposition as well as pressure air balloon :Gholdengo: the second move is knock off. To target into :Gliscor: , :Dragonite: , and :Landorus-Therian: the third move slot is of cource ice spinner. Finally to have a strong stab option to hit into the opposition, the last move is Headlong Rush.

:Zamazenta: :

To have a powerful physical breaker The next pokemon on the list is choice band :Zamazenta: . To be able to avoid burn or wil o wisp shenaningans the tera on :Zamazenta: is fire. For a strong stab option to target into the other team and try to break through, the first attack is close combat. to target into long term nuisances like :Moltres: and :Tornadus-Therian: the second move is stone edge. To be able to hit into long term threats like :Dragonite: and :Gliscor: the third slot is taken up by ice fang. Finally to be able to hit into opposing ghost types like :Gholdengo: and :Pecharunt: the last move slot is crunch.

:Alomomola: :

To be able to soak up hits and restore some of the hp for our pokemon whilst being able to pivot relatively easily, :Alomomola: seemed like the perfect addition to this team. This team doesn't have the best speed control relative to what is within SV OU and one pokemon that can give this team trouble is choice-banded :Dragapult: and so to have a good defensive typing that can soak up dragon darts we are running tera fairy. To be able to burn some physical threats like :Kingambit: and :Dragonite: the first move slot is scald. To have access to some form of recovery that can be passed to teammates as well we have wish. to pivot easily as well as providing a stab option for an attack we have flip turn. Finally to pressure into some of the dragonite types dominating the tier our last moveslot is play rough.

:Ting-Lu: :

:Ting-Lu: is one of the bulkiest pokemon that has ever been allowed in OU and paired with access to rocks and spikes and we have the perfect compliment for this team. To give it an additional utility for being a spin blocker and no longer have a weakness into fighting and fairy type moves we are running tera ghost. To be able to force the opposition to deal with hazards and phase out any pokemon that can sweep over time the third moveslot is whirlwind. Finally to have a strong stab option to target into :Gholdengo: or :Raging Bolt: we have Earthquake in that last slot.

:Slowking-Galar: :

To have a special wall that has access to passive recovery and pivot moves the last member of this team is :Slowking-Galar: . To have a move that can threaten opponents later and allow us to apply physical and special pressure in the long term the first moveslot is Future Sight. To be able to have a super effective move into :Raging Bolt: and :Gliscor: The second move slot is ice beam. To have a move that allows us to pivot into one of our offensive threats whilst still soaking up the damage defensively the third moveslot is chilly reception. Finally to have a stab attack that can ohko threats like :Iron Valiant: or just threaten poison pressure the last moveslot is sludge bomb. To have a tera that resists :Walking Wake: in sun as well as special attackers in rain so you can chilly out the tera is water.

Team Weaknesses: The team can struggle a bit with iron defense press :Zamazenta: long term so you typically need to use a defensive tera to deal with that, and the matchup into webs can be really rough since :Great Tusk: basically becomes your speed control which is obviously not ideal. :Ogerpon-Wellspring: also applies a lot of long term pressure into the team as well.
