SV OU Royal SandQastle: QuaQrash's Sand Balance

Hello everyone, my smogon user is 40kultra but some of you guys know me as "QuaQrash", a SV OU team rater in smogcord or "Monica" if you play draft. This is ironically my first RMT lol because I don't post much here I spend most of my time lurking if i'm online. I been planning on posting this rmt since I really liked the team and I feel like its consistent enough to peak higher on ladder, I was close to that 2000 but unfortunately I tilted really hard and kinda lost motivation to ladder since then and with champions coming soon I feel like it's the right time to post this team.

technically my highest is like 1930 but I didn't take a screenshot of that because wasn't really happy with my gxe then. View attachment 821126

I will say this however, with this team I was able to consistently stay in the high 1800s-1900s range for a good while despite laddering with only this one team, I conquered every known playstyle, even the ones you can't pronounce, and I have beat top ladder players with this team like a lot of times. and base on what I tested recently I can easily get this team back to the top..

Ladies and Gentlemen, I represent to you, my almighty Royal SandQastle!

Now if you have been laddering for the past 4-5 months on high ladder you probably have seen this team before. Sand with the weird torn set+chesnaught etc. on paper it looks like a standard sand comp but some sets catch people off guard, like you wouldn't expect covert cloak, or metal coat or non specs val on these structures, so lemme break it down and let's go back to the origins on this SandQastle!

Origins
The idea of the entire team started on a random day back in december 2025. I was rating a sand team sent in the smogcord SV OU rate-my-team channel. While trying to rate this team I was kinda stuck on how I should improve his team because I wasn't that experienced with building sand at that time, especially because that was around the period where sand was seeing a resurgence in OU. I did see a lot of good sand teams like the xav rilla ttar team, the "UU" sand team with keld drapple torn heatran ttar and exca, the garchomp pecharunt one, etc, I seen a lot of these sand teams and thought these were cool and I took inspiration from these teams but then I was thinking to myself, How would I build a sand team?. I vividly remember the sand team I was rating it was a sand team with like Ttar, Excadrill, Hoopa-U, Iron hands & 2 other low tier pokemon I can't remember exactly, but the team was really random so I wanted to show an example of what a sand team with :tyranitar: :excadrill: would look like. I could have easily just recommended a sample team like the xav one or a sand rmt but I wanted to use an example of my own instead of just lazily pasting a RMT or sample team, after all what's the point of being a rater if you can't rate a team with your own knowledge?

So that's where I started the teambuilding process, let me break it down further...

Teambuilding Process
:excadrill::sv/Excadrill:
The Excalibur (Excadrill) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

I already established that I want to build a sand team around Exca & Ttar, so of course I had to start with the Excalibur! Excadrill actually compresses a decent amount of roles here, it's an effecient set up sweeper/cleaner thanks to it's ability sand rush doubling it's speed under sand. it can outspeed stuff like :Deoxys-speed:, :Dragapult:, speed booster energy :booster-energy: users like :iron moth:, :iron valiant: and most relevant choice scarf users like :gholdengo:, :enamorus:, :latios:, :landorus-therian: and:samurott-hisui:. With swords dance to boosts its already high attack stat along with stab Tera ground earthquake to nuke non immune targets really hard and rock slide to snipe EQ immunes like :moltres: :zapdos: :corviknight: etc on top of flinching everything excadrill can easily win games as a sweeper. However it also has another important role on the team and that is being the teams source of hazard control with it's access to rapid spin. thanks to it's great typing in steel/ground resisting stealth rock by 0.25x, immunity to tspikes and air balloon to ignore spikes damage, excadrill can be pretty effecient at removing hazards from the field. It can also serve as a shoft check to electric types like :raging-bolt: :zapdos: and rock types like :glimmora: with air balloon still in tact.

*NOTE* DO NOT USE JOLLY EXCADRILL! that shit is a fraud, I remember facing my great friend mcribs on a ladder game with a jolly excadrill and it failed to kill a Hoopa at 67%. Jolly Exca is so weak I wouldn't recommend it even though it has some benefits like outspeeding Tusk and speed tieing with pecha outside of sand, its not worth it. and also you kinda need air balloon here otherwise Hstack fries this team.

:tyranitar::Sv/Tyranitar:

The Tyrant (Tyranitar) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 248 HP / 20 Def / 240 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Ice Beam
- Low Kick

Yes we are going to write a whole essay on why the sand setter is being used on the sand team. Let's be for real though Ttar is a really strong mon and is possible the best setter you can ask for. rock/dark might not look like a good defensive type on paper but with ttars bulk+sand giving it an additonal 1.5x spdef boost it can take on a lot of special attackers like :kyurem:, :raging bolt: , non focus blast :darkrai:, :latios:, etc and is also a good ghost resist into :dragapult:, :ceruledge: etc, it also owns the kanto birds :zapdos: :moltres:. This is our main stealth rock setter since we kinda have no choice here, we went with the standard max spdef set, the only minor change I made with the ev spread is making ttar 248hp to bring its hp down to an odd number in 403. this is so that when we tera flying we are not taking maximum damage from rocks, and then the rest is dumped into the defenses. knock off is a great utility move which gives defensive ttar and edge over it's comp like Ting-lu for example. knock can remove boots from mons like the afromentioned birds, can remove rocky helmets from :corvikngiht:, :alomomola:, :great-tusk:, can remove leftovers from defensive pieces :ting-lu: :heatran: :galarian-weezing: or leftovers from offensive pieces like :manaphy: :zamazenta: :darkrai: etc. it can also snipes specs users like :iron-valiant: trying to swap in on you. ice beam can snipe common ground type switch ins like :Landorus-therian: and :Great-tusk: and easily threaten 2hkos since it targets their weaker defenses, you also hit :dragonite: which is a big one as well, preventing dnite from brainlessly setting up is great. Last move is kinda filler, had roar originally but realized that my team had no way of hitting :heatran: outside of drill, so I went with low kick. Low kick is also nice into :samurott-hisui: :iron treads: :ting-lu:and :kingambit: switch ins. like I said this is filler you can also look at other moves like earthquake which basically accomplishes the same thing -hitting ting lu, Twave to snipe :ogerpon-wellspring: and :iron valiant: switch ins, or roar to phase out set up sweepers.

:gholdengo::sv/gholdengo:
The Golden Child (Gholdengo) @ Metal Coat
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Make It Rain
- Recover

The Golden Child, The Golden Star, The Golden Man of this team! Gholdengo is a top tier pokemon for obvious reasons, being able to block both spin and defog is crazy and eliminates most form of hazard control. it's also a really strong pokemon, Ghost steel is the typing that got a certain sword-based pokemon banned back in generation 6 and for some reason this thing also has a 100% accurate 120 base power steel type stab move in make it rain and the only drawback is -1 special attack lmao. That's why I decided to use tera steel metal coat gholdengo because it's just ridiculously strong, the way +2 tera steel metal coat hits blissey, you would think blissey got hit with an earthquake but nah, it's just gholdengo casually Making it rain on hell. Might aswell call it Make it shock because it obliterates most special walls. The only annoying thing is you can only run 2 coverage moves here because you kinda want recover & nasty plot, so it's between shadow ball and thunderbolt. I went with thunderbolt instead so I can snipe annoying water types like :dondozo: :alomomola: :toxapex: and :samurott-hisui: while breaking through birds like :corviknight: and :moltres: at the same time. I went modest here because I want as much damage as possible out of that sweet 133 base special attack stat that hits a wopping stat of 401. 188 speed was to speed creep :raging bolt: and to snipe other mons only running enough speed to speed creep raging bolt with 250 speed, then the rest is dumped into hp. could probably use more speed evs to achieve other feets like outspeeding modest heatran but its wtv. The best thing about metal coat gholdengo is you can larp as Scarf since if people don't see air balloon the first set they assume is Scarf :)
+2 252+ SpA Metal Coat Tera Steel Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 4 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey: 408-482 (62.5 - 73.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery Possible damage amounts: (408, 414, 418, 424, 428, 432, 438, 442, 448, 452, 456, 462, 466, 472, 476, 482)
:chesnaught::sv/chesnaught:
The Juggernaught (Chesnaught) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Bulletproof
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Knock Off
- Synthesis
- Spikes

The Juggernaught, the supernaughter! its flipping chesnaught! Okay now if you see someone adding a chesnaught on their team out of all things theres two things that are obvious, they hate :ogerpon-wellspring:, and they hate :kingambit:. Chesnaught solves those annoying problems while checking other physical attacking threats like :great-tusk: :samurott-hisui: :iron-treads: :ogerpon: :rillaboom: and thanks to it's unique ability in bulletproof, it also ends up countering non gunk shot :cinderace: and can ignore sludge bomb from poisons like :slowking-galar:. bulletproof is also really useful for scouting focus blast from mons like :darkrai: as well. I wanted to make a Hstack sand kinda which made chesnaught a more appealing option to me since its one of the only few mons to have access to the combo of spikes and knock off. because of how chesnaught is to switch into, it's easy to remove boots from mons that especially need it :moltres:, :zapdos:, :slowking-galar:, :pecharunt: etc. and because of that rocks+spikes damage pile up. tera ghost is for spin blocking :great-tusk: and :iron treads: while completely walling :zamazenta: (beats it as long as rocky helmet is still in tact) and walling cinderace completely resisting gunk shot and basically being immune to its over coverage moves. synthesis is for recovery, however do keep in mind that sand cuts synthesis healing in half which is also kinda the main reason we are not smooth rock here because as much as we want to sweep with exca+get that extra chip with sand, other teammates like chesnaught also want to heal when needed so that's why its more ideal to not run smooth rock here.

:tornadus-therian::sv/Tornadus-therian:
The Reigner (Tornadus-Therian) @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 152 HP / 104 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Bleakwind Storm
- Heat Wave
- Knock Off

Yea so I basically needed a ground immune still despite chesnaught+air balloon exca because I dont want to completely get farmed by tusk if my defensive pieces are chipped, and I also need speed control outside of sand so you know I had to go with the one and only, Tornadus-TheReigner! now you may be looking at this set and go "Quaqrash, wtf is this torn set". well you see, I was originally LO Nasty plot tornadus because I was feeling like a boss in the builder when making this team and was like "why tf not" but then I realized that being a striker wasn't torns best position here. after 16 Bleakwinds off target, 16 misplaced heat waves, and 8 incomplete focus blasts I knew I had to switch this guys position to defensive midfield. At first I tried grass knot>focus blast for an actual accuracy move, but then I realized shit got cooked by :Heatran:. Then boots nasty Plot since Torn is kinda rocks weak, but then he became too weak in power. that's when I decided "Hey, you're going to be the disruptive covert cloak midground Mon with taunt & knock off, and there he performed pretty well actually that I kept him on the team instead of selling him to the national league. Before I was struggling to find a way to swtich in on :hatterene: safely without taking a nuzzle with gholdengo or sacrificing my air balloon on my excadrill, this is where tornadus's role comes in. It's basically my shitmon sack and midground switch in to scout stuff. Covert cloak is nice to ignore nuzzle from hat but also prevent mystical fire from dropping our special attack stat and preventing poison fishing with malignant chain or sludge bomb from mons like :slowking-galar:, :pecharunt:, :weezing-galar: :clodsire:, and :toxapex:. Covert cloak torn can also 1v1 tera garg since it has taunt to prevent recovery and knock off to remove lefites, speaking on the moves let me talk about taunt. Taunt is a really nice move to have especially into stall and hstack teams. prevents hazard setting from :ting-lu: :landorus-therian:, :garganacl:, :gliscor: etc and stops potential set up sweeps from attackers like :Dragonite: or :ceruledge: . taunt also prevents recovery attempts from blissey and prevent toxic clicks from :gliscor:, :toxapex: and :clodsire:, basically walling them. Knock off is the 4th move here because I really like removing items and triple knock goes super crazy imo, althought sometimes I think U-turn would be more consistant for proper pivoting, but I learned to be a proper man and not rely on VoltTurn brainrot!. unfortuately you still have no choice but to run the 2% accuracy moves in heat wave and bleakwind but opportunity cost is much smaller compared to running a super offensive set. 152 hp evs guarantee lives a stone edge from :landorus-therian: and boots :zamazenta: at full hp. obviously want max speed on this so you dump the rest into special attack. Tornadus-therian is tera type water here because I needed a tera type that can resist special attacking water types like :volcanion: & :walking-wake: while also resisting :weavile: triple axel and :scizor: bullet punch, so I ended up with this. additionally, Torn adds counterplay to :ogerpon-wellspring: making sure i'm actually able to revenge kill woger after chesnaught dies, and baits sucker punch from :kingambit: in the late game to set up encore val for the W.

:iron-valiant::sv/iron valiant:
The Valiant (Iron Valiant) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Encore

Lastly ladies and gentlement, please welcome the Knight with no sprite, the Valiant Soldier!, the Iron man!, Iron valiant!!! yea so I needed another fast attacker to make my team a bit stronger so like any other teambuilder, I stumble upon the premier attacker of Scarlet and Violet. now you might be thinking that I should go specs here, maybe If I was running a pivot move then sure, but I have my reasons for the flutter mane set. Encore is a really broken move and can punish brainless clicks like Sucker punch from :kingambit: especially since I can force suckers with exca and tornadus. you can also punish set up sweepers like late game :zamazenta:, :dragonite:, etc. tera ghost is there to boost the power of shadow ball, being able to muscle through :gholdengo:, :iron-crown: and :pecharunt: at +1, while beating espeed dnite and zama. speed booster is also nice to have in the late game to help deal with stuff like :darkrai:, :dragapult: :zamazenta:, :deoxys-speed: if they get out of hand. maybe not the most immediately strong iron valiant set compared to specs or a mixed CC set, but Its a good late game cleaner and can come in clutch if I play like absolute dogshit.

TL;DR on teambuilding process: goal is to create :excadrill: :tyranitar: sand team, I add :gholdengo: because obvious best partner to block hazards. add :chesnaught: because I hate woger and gambit+spikes, add :tornadus-therian: for ground immune, :iron-valiant: for a cleaner.

Weaknesses:
in terms of structures, this team is fine into most common structures. like for example stall you have taunt torn+metal coat gholdengo, for mu fish HOs like webs and screens you have tornadus, ttar & exca which have fine matchups, sand in general is also just naturally good into other weather archetypes like rain, sand and even veil teams. and sand in general should be fine into most balance and offense teams. the main problem however is certain pokemon and certain sets that can easily destory this team

Certain Mons/sets
:sv/darkrai:
LO focus blast darkrai is a straight up 6-0, it 0hkos every mon on this team and there is not much you can do about it, you're forced to burn tera earlier then you want which would end up making your match up into other mons on that team even worse, especially a dragonite which you don't really want.

:sv/cinderace:
Ace is pretty annoying for this team. if it wasn't for chesnaught having bulletproof this team is fairly 6/0ed by ace, will o wisp can still cripple a lot of the team, but those sets are managble. i'm mainly talking about the offensive cinderace set with gunk shot hjk/low kick pyro ball and sucker punch/U-turn. that shit just clicks buttons for free on this team comp. technically tera ghost chesnaught walls this but you don't really want to waste tera like that.

theres prob a few more but these are the main two ones that traumatized me the most.

Now onto the mons that i'm weak to regardless:

:sv/volcanion:
Nothing on this team switches in on volcanion and it has a lot of free entry here. this is kinda what happens when you have Chesnaught as your sole water resist. best you can do it chip with hazards if its specs, or tera water torn in emergencies. you also have thunderbolt ghold and exca to outspeed and kill it.
:sv/weavile:
Weavile is another monster on this team that is very much capable of 6/0ing this team. lack of ice resist means that banded triple Axel can KO the entire team outside of gholdengo, which get's cooked by weavile's other stab in knock off obviously. unlike the others there's definitely more tools you can use to deal with weavile here. Tera water on :tornadus-therain: & Tera steel on :gholdengo: can bait knock off or triple Axel respectfully and can KO back with heat wave/make it rain. you can also chip banded weavile with hazards+rocky helmet chip from :chesnaught: along with sand. boots 4 attack weavile is more tricky though since it's not affected by hazards and can just click buttons like low kick to KO :tyranitar:, however boots weavile isn't strong enough to KO stuff immediately and can definitely be teched for with Tera.
:sv/Hawlucha:
Hawlucha Is very annoying for this team because It can easily gain free entry on chesnaught(since it walls it basically) lack of phasing makes unburden set up sweepers like Hawlucha very annoying to deal with. Ghold obviously get's Tera'd electric or ground on so it's not reliable in beating Hawlucha. your only way of dealing with this is baiting with Tera flying Tyranitar and chipping it with ice beam+sand chip.

:sv/hoopa-unbound:
Everyone knows theres no such thing as walling hoopa, but its even more annoying here because it's coverage basically KOs everything. Ttar? Koed by fighting move like focus blast/drain punch, chesnaught? KOed by psychic noise, dont get me started on excadrill or gholdengo. although you can definitely chip this thing with hazards stack and metal coat ghold is still obviously strong enough to muscle through this, but one double into hoopa can easily put you in a bad spot. the best you can do in that position is use the midground shitmon sack :tornadus-therian: to scout and pray. now let's move on to typings in general.

Certain types
Fire types: :sv/ceruledge: :sv/cinderace: :sv/iron-moth: :sv/heatran: :sv/volcanion: :sv/blaziken:
I already mentioned some of these mons before but fire types really do f up this team, especially when ttar dies. Tera ghost LO :ceruledge: at +2 kills everything on this team with shadow sneak, chesnaught obviously gets farmed by bitter blade, ttar is the only thing saving that match up. in terms of fire coverage half this team is weak to fire and the other half :tornadus-therian: and :iron valiant: obviously don't like taking strong fire type attacks. fire attackers with additional coverage like :blaziken: are especially the worst since it has fighting stab for ttar and with enough protect procs for speed boost it can easily outspeed drill in sand. and about this thing as well :heatran:, I was struggling to even damage this thing since I was running metal coat tbolt ghold and cm val, I literally had to run fighting coverage ttar just to hit this thing. This is probably also the main reason why I resorted to tera water :tornadus-therian:. :Iron moth: is the easier to handle out of all the fires but even that can get annoying aswell if it procs a fiery dance spatk boost and tera grass energy ball on lu to KO Ttar.

Fairy types: :sv/enamorus: :sv/iron valiant: :sv/primarina: :sv/hatterene:
Yea so fairy types are also another major issue, because if you peep the team, both my defense pieces :tyranitar: :chesnaught: let fairies in for free and do no damage back, similar to other mons I mentioned one double can put you in a deep mess. you do technically have fairie resist in :gholdengo: and :excadrill: those switchs in are limitied and neither are real long term switch ins, at least ghold has recovery so you can switch in a few more times compared to drill. choice specs :iron-valiant: is the most annoying here, since it can clip ghold with shadow ball and easily 2ko exca with moonblast so its always super free on a double. :hatterene: is the main reason why torn had to switch position, :enamorus: is similar to iron valiant where its free on a double and can click buttons for free. prim is wtv because its slower compared to the other fairies I mentioned but still hits really hard and annoying if you get the play wrong. your best bet against fairies is keeping ghold healthy obviously, and try standing your ground against obvious doubles. for example, if kingambit comes in on gholdengo and your chesnaught & ttar is unhealthy its obviously not clicking kowtow cleave so even if you're at -1 special attack click that make it rain again because the opponent wants to make the switch in to their fairy type.

Certain Structures
Hstack teams & Tspikes: :sv/glimmora: :sv/deoxys-speed::sv/pecharunt: :sv/slowking-galar: :sv/iron moth: :sv/samurott-hisui: :sv/great Tusk: :sv/sinistcha: :sv/landorus-therian: :sv/gliscor::sv/ting-lu:
I did say my team works into most structures, that's true, however some match ups can be tricky like Hazard stack for example. As you can see I have zero poison types on my team which means I have nothing to absorb Tspikes, this can make games difficult to play in and put a timer on mons like Iron valiant, Tyranitar and chesnaught. it's especially annoying because with red card :glimmora: can just come in easily and phase you out to booster val early game and poison you with toxic debris which put's me in a bad position. You're also really reliant on excadrill to remove hazards which can be difficult at times as drill can have a hard time removing vs Tera ghost :pecharunt: and :sinistcha: hazard stack teams in general. This is mainly why I said air balloon drill is a must otherwise Hstack match ups are almost unwinnable. doesn't really help that mons like :deoxys-speed: and speed booster :iron-treads: can easily lead into my team and set up hazards for free or :samurott-hisui: coming in on Ttar(or Torn if it's AV) and spam ceaseless edge/knock off for free. thankfully you have taunt Torn which is good into ting lu stack, and as long as you preserve drill well there's a chance you can get hazards off eventually. my advice is don't give things like deo or glimmora breathing space to do what they want, Ghold is generally good into these mons and can deal with them when needed.

Trick room: :sv/indeedee-f: :sv/hatterene: :sv/mimikyu: :sv/ursaluna: :sv/hoopa-unbound: :sv/volcanion: :sv/porygon2: :sv/cresselia: :sv/iron-hands: :sv/kingambit:
another slightly annoying MU is trick room. I do face some difficulties with the interstellar TR team mainly because of the Million trick room setters that also have built In healing wish for some reason (:hatterene: :indeedee-f: :cresselia:) and giga threats like :hoopa-unbound: :volcanion: and :ursaluna: being giga threats vs my team. although physical attackers like ursaluna is manageable because you have chesnaught with can easily live a hit+Torn,ghold,balloon Exca,Tera flying Ttar & Tera ghost val to bait facade and Earthquake so you can definitely play around the bait. :Iron-hands: and :kingambit: is also checked by chesnaught but can get annoying when chesnaught is chipped. the main problem is :hoopa-unbound: & :volcanion: because under trick room they sweep my team at that point. somehow underspending chesnaught and Ttar under trick room so there is not much I can do about that, unless I start running 0 speed ivs on my :tyranitar: or :chesnaught: to counter this. However we do have ways of preventing trick room from being set up with taunt Torn vs :mimikyu: :indeedee-f: :hoopa-unbound: etc. also Tera steel metal coat ghold at +2 is strong enough to oblierate trick room setters like :porygon2: :cresselia: and if sash is removed can KO :hatterene: and :indeedee-f:

+2 252+ SpA Metal Coat Tera Steel Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 350-412 (93.5 - 110.1%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

General & Final thoughts on the team:

Honestly I find this team to be pretty consistent. This is defintitely capable of peaking #1 but unfortunately not the best at piloting as I can play very badly at times and resort to habit playing which is probably why you see some replays where i'm the 1600s-1700s. If anyone can get #1 with this it would be nice, team will prob be super known by then but then again, I Laddered with the same team for months and still managed to keep top 100 minimum. i'm also a fan of certain interactions with this team like :Excadrill: and :tornadus-therian: baiting kingambit sucker punch and winning the late game with encore :iron-valiant: and haxing with :excadrill: rock slide & :iron-valiant: moon blast spatk drop, which is ironic because you would usually see me complaining about rng when it happens to be, but thats how life is. I like this team and If I were to Ladder again it would probably Ladder with it again. shout-out to mcribs Aquilo CrispyFries cala_aa quacc all the soldiers in smogcord rates and especially shout-out to mcribs cuz he made me realize jolly drill is a fraud, and Aquilo helped with my team a bit. shoutout to all the moderators and staff that helped me to learn how to make a RMT with all the spoilers gifs and stuff so I can make this RMT as best as I can.

Thanks y'all and have a good day! I definitely will be back soon.

*NOTE* DO NOT USE JOLLY EXCADRILL! that shit is a fraud, I remember facing my great friend mcribs on a ladder game with a jolly excadrill and it failed to kill a Hoopa at 67%. Jolly Exca is so weak I wouldn't recommend it even though it has some benefits like outspeeding Tusk and speed tieing with pecha outside of sand, its not worth it. and also you kinda need air balloon here otherwise Hstack fries this team..
252 Atk Excadrill Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 184 Def Hoopa-Unbound: 196-232 (53.9 - 63.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
:cheem-pao:

I really like the team comp used. Especially chesnaught. Ice beam seems like an interesting way to counter Lando t and tusk. Im personally quite the fan. Jolly excadrill is actually quite solid. As it does 2hko H-U with earthquake. (1hko with SD up). Generally though I really like the thought you put into torn-T. Massive fan. Great job ^-^

Thanks guys, happy you like the inclusion of chesnaught lol.

Speaking about chesnaught one thing I didn’t really tap on about :chesnaught: is how useful bulletproof is. Blocking shadow ball is importantly for scouting pult and scarf Ghold sets. Another thing is that bulletproof also blocks weather ball which I completely forgot about until I rewatched on of my replays lol, so you basically wall venusaur.
