Would there ever be a consideration of something akin to natdex for COU?
i.e. every mon/mechanic but just w new mons/mechanic changes from champions

Or will COU just be limited to whenever champions is updated?

Given this is a game purely dedicated to competitive pokemon, and has been confirmed to get updates I would say most likely no.

COU can probably survive without them. Would be cool though to have a Ndex COU with some of the new mons and mechanics + old items

I'm ngl this dex already looks better than the ZA one. We have a decent mix of staple mons like Corv, Volcarona, Kingambit, Garchomp, Gliscor, Toxapex, Pult, Clefable, etc. in addition to some normally powercrept mons like Kommo-o, Aegislash, etc. which will have a niche. Mons that are banned in standard OU like Sneasler / Arch get worse because of no Terrain (which was what broke Sneasler) and no Body Press + Tera (so arch has a mildly harder time being the same trade demon it was, tho its still probably crazy good lol). Mega Kangaskhan also seems more reasonable to manage w/ no Seismic Toss, no PuP, etc. So even the typical suspects seem more manageable than they would in another format.

Vibes are telling me that Palafin and Mega Blastoise might be a bit too much in this format at an initial glance. Still, I am glad we have a decent number of regular mons to make an actual defensive core with compared to ZA OU meta. Megas in this being toned down is also going to make them feel a bit more manageable for the average team, which probably will make up for no boots.

I think people would be taking the lack of items and pokemon better if there was a road map of when we'd get what. The lack of these things isn't bad per se if we know for example that in 3 months we'll get another set of megas and items that shake up the meta and then another meta after that in a few months.

The lack of clarity on what's going to happen and when just makes Champions seems like an unfinished product that you're forced to engage with as a VGC player.

Also important to note; its impossible to equip more than 1 of the same item in champions on your team, the game gives you only 1 stock of an item and if you put it on one pokemon it auto removes it from the other.

Screens don't have light clay but if we do entertain this as a 3v3 format since 6v6 is currently illegal until further notice, screens and setup sweepers feel incredibly oppressive.

I think other than Mega Gengar (which obviously needs a pre-emptive ban), we should give everything else at least a chance especially since there almost certainly won't be a Champions Ubers ladder.

was mostly asking cuz we did this in ZA due to something along the lines of the meta becoming "hazard spam", then again i cant remember if it was also due to things like lacking proper removal, etc

The list is just the pokémon currently available to use in Champions. The tier is not playable yet and will be actively tiered. Just wait for that to happen (i.e. is not sticking around)

I'll see if i can enjoy Showdown Champions, and if we do get a showdown VGC ladder i'll see if i can play that too, but if i feel like im not enjoying the tier in vgc i'll wait until next regulation tbh.

Not currently in the game. The list of megas that are and are not in the game right now is super weird.

Edit: Ninja’d lol. Anyway only having Choice Scarf but no Band or Specs is gonna be interesting for however long that lasts.

I wonder when will we got complete moveset, since some mon lose some like archaludon body press gone, sadge
