s/o hex and THE_CHUNGLER nobody in the team worked as hard as you two this season carrying in prep and also chungler having a fantastic season playing.
Thanks for trusting me to play the tiebreak too!

big s/o to Greybaum and Estarossa too for carrying this corpse unable to build in sm pu  and also DugZa for the help in finals.
Everyone in the team was good and willing to help that was very cool too.

Goat elodin...

this has certainly been a journey, 11 weeks long of playing pu in what felt like one of my more grueling tournaments as a manager, comparable to pupl 2024 to be honest. this win means a lot to me for quite a few reasons, when i was younger (like...13ish) i knew what competitive pokemon was but never interacted with it beyond watching content or laddering smpu specifically because i always thought how cool it was that i could use the "bad mons". i always loved a good underdog story and i naturally gravitated towards pu. once i got on smogon however i never could seem to break into pu in the way i wanted and drifted away until the end of ss. in 2023 i took quite a long break from smogon and when i came back in 2024 i told myself i needed to make my relationship with the game healthier so i dedicated myself to set "goals" for my hobby rather than to adhd dopaminemaxx signup for every fucking tournament i saw. those tours were mpl, ndpl, cappl (not smth i cared abt much but i like cap a lot and lost cappl finals before) and pupl. i then went on to make pupl finals, then lose. i made pubd finals right after, lost again. this was on an already horrible losing streak i was on for multiple years as a manager, and i said honestly...any pu tour will do LOL doesnt need to be pupl. especially since i also lost puwc finals in 2023(?) but i was a player and sucked so no real harm there i suppose. in 2025-now 2026 i managed to have a personal golden road and win MPL -> CAPPL -> NDPL -> and now PUCL all b2b2b2b. while cappl and ndpl i was a bit carried ive now proven to myself that i can truly do anything i put my mind to, which is a very cathartic feeling especially when i was constantly filled with self doubt in just about anything i would do, pokemon or not. svpu has been the only tier ive really supported on smogon this extensively as a manager. i always manage tours i can support the tiers of but svpu has been my most work-horsey tier. since pupl 2024 my teams have had rly good sv records and this tour went the teams i made went 5-2 which is another rewarding feeling to have all my efforts through this generation pay off, especially now that its coming to a close (sorta).

anyway....wayy too sappy for a pucl winpost but i also take my sappiness with pride because it should never be cringe to celebrate something you've put blood sweat and tears into. managing pucl was extremely fun and way more strategic than i had imagined. i walked away from the auction going "yeah...we are definitely making finals with this lineup there is no way we arent". we had an extremely rough week 1+2, but we just kept pushing and from week 3 until now we didn't drop a single week. so go team! i obviously wouldn't be here without everyone on my team so lets get to what everyone really wants to read!

to my lovely porygons! (with my favorite moments of this season):

chungler.png
chungler2.png

THE_CHUNGLER Man, LOL..what a fucking ride. We managed PUBD last year on a whim to finals and lost in what was probably one of my more demoralizing losses cuz we were easily the best team in the tournament. so when pucl was announced i knew we'd have to run it back together and thank god you agreed. i think we complement each other extremely well as personalities, and i genuinely could not win this without you. knowing i didnt need to look in gsc/adv was such a load off my shoulders and you are literally the goat in those tiers idk how you do it. getting to know you over the past year or so has been a pleasure and seeing you open up more has been awesome bc youre one of the funniest people on the site. sorry you had to deal with my doomering but it wouldnt be a hex team tour if i didnt. im getting better dude i swear! but seriously love you man i really could not ask for a better co-manager in PU.

blubird.png

BluBirD DR.BLUBIRD. holy fuck you are actually an oras pu savant. oras pu is one of my weaker tiers support-wise so the fact that you would just prep a team without needing much help and bringing us a win in so many pivotal points in the season was such a god-send. your heartwarming personality is genuinely so contagious and sometimes when i find myself tilted or upset at the game i use you as a reference to fix my mindset a bit. when we talked about me getting you before the tour your kindness and the way you talked to me like i was an old bestie despite us only teaming like...once? made me know that no matter what you were going to be my oras player. you played games at unviable times for you, during a storm, after your pc broke..and etc....you're literally the superman of blue lock on. enjoy the win *chirp*

elodin.png

elodin when you signed up for pucl i was like....huh? what is bro doing signing up for this LOL. only because i hadnt seen you sign up for subforum tour in a while, though i could be mistaken. i immediately told chungler that i wanted you because i thought you'd be great in bw/dpp pu. little did i know you were great in any pu. your ability to play any tier without showing any signs of being in an unfamiliar territory was impressive. i said this last year about ninjadog but usually when i get tour players i dont expect them to really do/say anything but your involvement in team chat was such a nice change of pace to that and i loved to see how hype you were when you were in the field. you're a great teammate and i hope we get to team more often!

tycarter.png

TyCarter when the format of cl got announced i basically knew i wanted to get you. you have experience in all the tiers im again not so good at prepping (bw dpp adv) and i considered you and shiloh some of the highest value picks in this entire auction. we really shouldve started you from week 1 but you going from a 7.5k bench slot to 5-1 was ridiculous. you genuinely swooped in at a perfect time to help coast our season along into a more comfortable place. unfortunately this means youll be more expensive in other tours....UGH. but you made your games look so fucking easy and whenever you played i was somehow not worried at all when i tend to get anxious over the no preview gens (dpp specifically). thanks for all your help this season and you absolutely earned this win. youre also a funny guy and it made me feel hype when you expressed a lot of interest in playing for chungler and i, and so along with elodin and some others you were the first person i was like "we absolutely have to get this person" LOL. to put it bluntly, Typhoon Carter is simply amazing.

esta.png
posting this after chunglers copy pasta killed me idk why LOL
Estarossa honestly quite shocked you went for 5k. we didn't really have a great plan for sm so when i saw your name come up in auction i was like hey....lets get that guy. you being 5k was genuinely a pleasant surprise and by the time the tour actually started i was like hey wait he actually knows a lot of pu tiers wtf hes the goat. i am sorry you didnt get to play sm as much as you wanted (and got forced into gsc...LOL) but your swiss army-knife knowledge in random ass pu tiers took such a huge stressor off me and chungler and i really do appreciate your input and hope you feel good about your season. we benched you more than we should have for a 5-3 player but um...it happens gulp.., but seriously, thanks for all the help you pitched in multiple slots all season!!!

termi.png

termi the terminator! i went into this tour expecting to not get younes because i knew he'd be an insane overpay so i was sifting through the signups to see who else caught my eye and saw that you signed up. chungler didnt know who you were and so i basically just had to say yeah she quit years ago but i swear shes fire. i was a bum in ss support which is my bad but you pretty much had that slot on lock and i hope you feel good about going positive in your comeback tour! to come out of retirement and go back in (?) with a win is an aura farm. it was a pleasure teaming/getting to know you since you're one of the few pu people i never got to interact with as i started to get into the tier back in 2022ish.

virae.png

virae well....so ...i was uselesssss in rby. chungler hardcore glazed you pre auction and damn i see why. for having the earlier points in the season push against you rng wise you bounced back hard. watching you prep and play rby was pretty interesting and showed me that maybe rby isnt all so bad.....i really do appreciate you holding down the rby fort and locking tf in for playoffs was also an aura farm. u basically just went "ok ill actually try now" on some anime shit and then ....won both playoff games while making it look easy asf. if i had a nickel for each time you got your nidoking fire blast burned t1 in pucl i'd have 2 nickels which isnt a lot but its weird that it happened twice.

gondra.png

Gondra THE GOAAAATTTTT. i was really shocked you went for 8k...when we scooped you up i had every intention of putting you through a full sv season. since sv is only 2 slots my mindset going into this tour was to get good clickers who can play the game. our early sv season is honestly entirely on me..i had to get a grip on the meta and we just stole teams for you and you ended up losing and being benched / put into sm which i felt bad about. that being said though...you farmed some insanely crucial wins for us this tournament. your w7 game was hilarious, and clutching finals to get us into tb and then also winning your tb game in sv was the hypest point of our entire season. even though you didnt get to play much sv this season i hope you had fun and thank you for clutching up for us so fucking hard dude. i always believed in you and ive rly enjoyed getting to talk to you more over the past year!!! hope we get to team more often, it'd be a fun time always.

shiba.png

Shiba when i saw you pop up in auction i was like okay....3k for him is OD let me upbid :joy:. in my mind you were probably a great adv/oras flex / sub and i kind of left it at that. but then we put you in sv after we had a rough start in sv and you piloted my teams with such fucking ease and it made me super happy. thank you for dealing with my schizo ass prep and wall text when dropping your team on a saturday at 1am and then also winning with ease 9 hours later LOL. sorry for passing u some dogshit tho oops. ur a great personality and a joy to team with so heres to many more tours together!

lpz.png

LpZ even though your season didn't go how it wanted, it was still fantastic knowing that we could throw you in bw and still feel confident in us starting the week 1-0. you got some bs thrown your way as the tour went on but you also got some really nice wins, especially against the worst nasty plot in history. not having to open the bw channel basically and knowing you would pass heat to any bw flex slot was refreshing and i hope you enjoy your b2b pubd win and #1 hof. bwpu.

greybaum.png

Greybaum "Greybaum" prep demon. Alongside TyCarter, I knew you were someone I wanted to get for your versatility. in pupl you were a great teammate and also had some great games. 5k for you was such a steal especially since you carried the shit out of our non esta sm slots all season LOL. your prep is actually insane and we could not have won this tour without you genuinely. sorry you had to deal with me schizoing in the channel but i hope it was manageable. thanks for all your hard work this season and spending hours w me spitballing ideas. really really glad we could team again and get a win, especially after you went for like 3k in pupl and almost got robbed in puwc LOL. hopefully people start to remember who the goat Greybaum really is.

bird.png

crow crumbs like stopppp omg we're 2/3 for finals why are we lowkey each others good luck charmmmuh. seriously though, teaming with you is always a pleasure and we bounce off each others silly quirks / neuroticism really well and im again glad we could win another tour together. i always trust you to pilot and the amount of effort you put into yourself during tours is rly impressive. i do think this meta was dogshit and having to send a new pu player into it was really unfun but i think you'd perform much better in the meta we have now especially with ur tendency to make cool techs really consistently. i rly hope to see you in more pu stuff and hope you stick around in the community, we'd love to have you c:

seed.png

seed im really sorry you didnt get a game in, like genuinely sorry. but your help with scouting, testing, and general vibes were amazing and im also glad we've gotten to hang out and team over the course of the last year! watching you randomly appear to joy react some random bullshit i was yapping about to myself at like 2 am always fucking killed me and i hope if we team again i get you watch you farm some noobs, rly sorry it wasnt in this tour, but your support was genuinely life-saving so this win is yours as much as it is anyone elses.

bleahey.png

bleahey after getting you in pubd last year and getting to know you more closely over the last year has been awesome, youre genuinely one of the funniest people on this website alongside chungler and your willingness to help / boost vibes even though i knew you were pretty busy irl was rejuvenating to see in a teammate since ive had to deal with a lot of bums in my time across smogon. thanks for being here on the ride and im glad we could rectify our loss from last year!

askov.png

ASKOV THE SKOV. when i saw your signup i knew that i wanted you for sv. we haven't teamed in a long time and i wanted to you show i was in fact a viable manager after i was absolutely useless and dogshit during that one uu tour we managed LMFAO sorry for that. im rly sorry your season didnt go your way it really isnt reflective of you as a player at all and you were genuinely a godsend in sv and i wouldnt have been able to support as well as i did without you by my side. willing to test with me for hours each week, bounce ideas off me, be receptive to my feedback, and more. you're an insanely good teammate and its crazy that ive known you for what....5 years now? even if we're not that close winning with someone ive known for such a long time means a lot to me and im really glad we got to hang out this tour! much love :D

shengineer.png

Shengineer i again am sorry for how your season went, but your willingness to help was a relief as i knew no matter what happened in our season you were always around to put your best foot forward no matter the circumstance. you played old gens i wasnt entirely familiar with and the week you were in sv i let you do your own thing so i feel like i didnt do my due diligence as a teammate to get involved with you LOL so im genuinely sorry but youre a charismatic / funny guy and your approach to mons is fun. the amount of effort you put into the game and your prep when youre in is rly inspiring and i couldnt ask out of anything else from a teammate.

shoutout to xcx Pangoro sky for helping me get into PU across the years and ushering me into the community while helping me l2p. love u guys lots and stan fishies!

for the last time this season LOCK IN TEAM LOCK IN

Fortunately, you forgot one glaring omission in your shoutouts, so I get to do my first shoutouts post as a winning team tour manager.

hex, after pubd finals last year, I knew we had to give it one more shot, or at least I hoped we would. Managing with you was the easiest yes in the world. I’ve never seen someone put their whole heart and soul into a team like you can, always creating a fun, active community where everyone actually gets to express themselves as people rather than being one of many names on a spreadsheet. Teaming with you is a completely different experience compared to every other Smogon team tour I’ve been a part of.

On top of this, you also do everything a manager is “supposed” to do at a very high level. Your eye for talent is excellent and showed in all of the great players we drafted. You are active in every prep channel to the fullest extent, while still knowing your limits and letting your players lead the conversation as much as they want or can. This season had some really low lows for everyone, and I don’t think an average or even good manager could do what you did to turn it around and keep everyone facing forward. So happy I’ve gotten to know you and can count you as a friend. I will always root for you either here or wherever else life takes you.
